I think it should be 40:60 in IC's favour, Mario has a wonder d-air that seperates them, and it's not that hard to Cape their side B, imo.

You guys should see the "wonderfully accurate" chart the Pit boards came up with.

Mario as a 60-40 matchup? Pff....

Really, we all know Mario is better then that.

wow those pit matchups look really...........accurate...wtf pit mains really that thick skulled?
The Pit boards then started saying that Pit having only 5 disadvantageous matchups made perfect sense. If Pit actually did that well on the entire cast, he wouldn't be mid tier!

*hits the nail on the head*

That advantage on Snake is simply hilarious. Also, 65-35 on DK? When I confronted them about this they said, "Pit has arrows." As for Olimar, they said that "Pit outcamps him and gimp Olimar with arrows."

....

Yeah.

(DK used to be 70-30 and Olimar used to be 55-45 before people started bitching at them.)

Dunno why Mario isn't a 50-50. I guess they (or simply the chart creator) thinks Pit has the advantage because "HE CAN GIMP MARIO WITH ARROWS!!!" Or some other BS.

Wow...who knew the Pit boards had so much fail in them? 65:35 on DK? lmfao

At least they're not claiming one of their 50 useless ATs to be responsible for these ratios.

The chart creator says that Pit outcamps DK and Pit can gimp him easily. That's why he deserves a 65-35 advantage. (He probably thinks DK is trash) Apparently, this Pit player has never experienced DK slamming his humongous foot into his face. Or dying at 40% from a 9 Wind Punch.

But really though, the chart is full of hilarity.

60-40 on Bowser? Should be 50-50.
60-40 on Diddy? Now I know there's something seriously wrong.
Neutral with Falco? Should be 45-55 max.
60-40 on the Ice Climbers? The chart creator probably has never been ***** by grabs before.
60-40 on Dedede? Pit has low range, and he fails against the chaingrab.
60-40 on Mario is bogus. We all know Mario is way better then that. His almighty cape wins!
65-35 on Pokemon Trainer and Samus? Pff, they're not that bad.
Neutral with ROB? ROB has the Laser, and it eats arrows for breakfast.
55-45 on Snake? LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL!!!!!
60-40 on Zelda? Pit dying at 60% from a Lightning Kick is serious business.

At least they're not claiming one of their 50 useless ATs to be responsible for these ratios.
The cause for the ratios are even worse. You should see the discussion we had about Bowser when he was listed as a 65-45 matchup.

"Bowser is easily gimped by the Mirror Shield."

"Bowser can't do anything about arrows"

"Pit can chaingrab!"

It's pretty sad. I'll let you guys know when I start bitching to them about Mario's matchup.

Woah now. lets not start a war between character boards. xD

I dont really have that much difficulty against pits. Their Mirror shield may be able to reflect, but does have a few seconds of lag when he is putting it back up. That leaves him open for grabs and such.

Im guessing the Pit vs Mario match up is about 50/50. Maybe 55/45.

I used to main Pit but switched to Mario about a month ago and I found it easier to use Side B than Down B to turn around people =/. Its just easier to combo with, and has less starting and ending lag than shield.

I hope you Bowser mains stick around for conversation, but I think it's safe to say we're done with the Mario v Bowser discussion.

While I think it's 55:45 Mario, we'll save that discussion for the match-up index. Does 50:50 sound good to everyone?

Well.. seeming that we are rapping up the discussion on bowser. Can we discuss the proper way to take on a Luigi and Mario's advantages over him. Im about to go up against a good one and im not sure the best way to fight him.

lol @ Mario's "weight advantage" on people, specially MK. Meta Knight still survives longer. He has perfect recovery and stops his momentum faster. G&W is similar except his recovery isn't perfect, but still better. The weight difference isn't an advantage against some characters, specially if your character dies quicker. Maybe people should keep that in mind.

Oh and you don't HAVE to approach Snake. He can't do ANYTHING to Mario aside from power-shielding those short-hopped fireballs. That's ALL he has. The rest of the time you can just jump around grab and follow-up, sneak in dsmashes or aerials...if he platform camps with nades you can wait for them to blow up or hit him while he's jumping...Mario can also hit him while he's trying to reach the stage from above by jumping to him and tippering uairs without touching any nades he pulls out.

Mario doesn't let Snake be Snake, and practically limits him to being a Ganondorf with better recovery. I think he's Snake's worst match-up. The runner-up's King Dedede which may be even...maybe, with really good, campy, I grab you first gameplay.

We already discussed Olimar, and I concluded the match-up vs Bowser.

I used information out of this thread too come up with the summary, credit goes to the original posters.

Pros:
+Bowser's grab range sucks, making his grab release game, less 'scary.'
+Mario can rack up damage pretty quick.
+Bowser is more vunerable to Fireball spam.
+Mario 'owns' in the air.

Cons:
-Bowser's ground game is excellent.
-Bowser's Fortress, as most of you know, can be used OoS and is simply an outrageous move.
-Bowser lands a grab on you, Mario's in a very very bad situation
-Mario is no exception, and the Utilt will cut through every aerial in his arsenal except for maybe a well spaced Cape.
-Bowser is so heavy, and he's very difficult to get off the stage. When you knock him off, if the Bowser has good DI so it's going to be hard to gimp him.
-Bowser 'owns' on the ground.

Bowser vs Mario is 50:50.

Special Thanks to the Bowser Boards for their contributions and discussion.

Help me fill in some stuff, I'm clearly missing stuff. Why do I always miss so many advantages for Mario :ohwell:.

Link please. D: I know alot about both characters since their my best and have already shared my knowledge of the match up with the Link boards. I seriously think the Link boards know more about my Mario better then the Mario boards do.
