Yeah, there's been a lot of talk on MvC2 for Live/PSN.

We'll probably know more once the countdown ends at tu4ar.com.

I wonder if they're going to change anything at all.
I wouldn't mind if they used the DC/Naomi version and just added online (regardless if it's good or not).
Also, I hope once Monday comes, that the release isn't too far away.

It would be nice if there could be new downloadable content. Having Power Stone characters, Green Goblin, Dr. Octopus , Fantastic Four, Jedah, Hsien-Ko, Sasquatch, Mike Haggar, Rolento and Ghost Rider in the roster would be so sweet! That, and some new stages.

I hope they use the DC/Naomi version this time, so it doesn't end up like the screwy PS2/XBox versions.

No. The game doesn't need any new characters. Maybe they should improve on the characters already in the game before adding new ones maybe?

Copypasta X-Men vs Street Fighter playstyles for all the Street Fighter characters, and pop a Jetpack on Zangief and you are good to go.

Hmm, good point. There's enough tier wars as it is.

Also, a jetpack? :veryconfu

Hi desert, Socal
lol, the sound effects alone gave it away.

So even Justin Wong is tired of Marvel, and I doubt Yipes and Sanford would just take over the scene so easily. I went to my old arcade which is usually full of SS teams and you know what I see, ppl playing Akuma/Thanos/Cammy or Marrow/Hayato/Psylocke. This game is now officially dead. ppl are playing who they want again to attempt to preserve it. I'm not sad, it's just funny that probably the loudest and most hype community has become so silent and dull. EVO 2k2-2k5 were the best, then the hype died, the Dark Prince came and called everyone out which brang more hype. Now that that's over, who's gonna promote Marvel any further?

Also, done a lot of research, MvC3 will most likely never happen. Why, think about it. The 2D fighting era is a dead market now, why would you put $ towards a dead market, and who wants a 3d Marvel? This would be very troublesome to Capcom to make a new 2d game with more characters. At best we could probably get a HD Remix. It's in Capcom's best interest to look back on what made Marvel great and translate it to TvC, where there is the ease of 3d graphics and a more promising community.

You're absolutely right. Capcom has been cleaning its slate by finally focusing more on 3-D fighters, so 2-D would be considered a step back (sadly).

At least, crossovers with other companies like Tatsunoko will provide opportunities to showcase characters from some of their lesser-known franchises (ex: Batsu from Rival Schools).

I don't mind the change to 3-D too much. It has plenty of visual punch like the old days.

Also, fans get restless if they don't get a Street Fighter sequel every once in a while.

I don't mind 3d either, it's just that they wouldn't want to make a 3d Marvel which would take a lot of work, compared to TvC which already has most of that done.

But Capcom (and SNK) both realize that they need to put their games on 360/PS3 from now on. I wouldn't be sursprised if by the end of 2010 MvC2, 3s, SFA2/3, and CvS2 end up on XBLA/PSS.

The only way TvC will ever become as big or bigger than Marvel is if it gets ported to a better system.

I'd prefer the game to be 2D, but they probably won't.
It's too time consuming.

If they do go 3D for MvC3 (if there's ever going to be one), it better be done right.
I like how MvC1 and 2 capture the style and artwork for both Marvel characters and Capcom characters.
They just seem to have... more personality when it's 2D.

There's a clash of ease though.
With the latest software, 3d rendering is now easier than 2d sprite animations.
So do they go 3d and have to render at least 60 chars. Or do they stay 2d where most of the chars are done, just add a few more and polish up the sprites.

Blazblue has proven that 2d can still look good.

EDIT: If they did an HD Remix, wouldn't the whole Marvel side be nerfed?
EDIT2: Pure ownage with the Strider sig

Heh, I wouldn't worry too much. The Marvel side being over-powered is a frequent complaint from fans, so it'll even things. ;)

Also, that sig is indeed boss. Speaking of which, it would be neat if the famous quote "Take me to your boss." was on it.

Since you're talking about 2D, I wish that Capcom would do a physical version of Mega Man 9. My mom doesn't allow me to have wi-fi, so I can't download Virtual Console games. :( Of course, we probably won't get that unless it's in a collection...

Edit: Off-topic, but the Infinity Mugen Team forum is down. $%&*#!!!

Then you should bring your console to a friend's house and download it there.
You'd be missing out on a lot of things if you didn't.
I doubt that would work, since my nearest friend isn't too up-to-date on things (he only has an Xbox and a SNES). He's not likely to have wi-fi (though I never know). Nevertheless, he's rather busy since he has a job now.

So, yeah, I'm stumped. :(

Nah its not that, its just that the Capcom side is too underpowered. Like I said just beef them up and it will be all good again.

Also you need to get wifi son.

Like I said already, my mom doesn't allow me to get wi-fi connection. If I'm lucky, Capcom *might* put Mega Man 9 in physical form one day. They did release a Mega Man collection before, after all.

Also, I'm aware of the Capcom side being under-powered. Whether or not they will be beefed up, we'll find out real soon.

By the time Mega Man 9 comes in physical form, you'll probably be old enough to get your own wi-fi.
And digital downloads are the future for small games like that, so you better get wi-fi.

Also, I really don't want them to do any balancing. They should just save it for MvC3.
But if they are balancing characters, don't touch top tier. Just beef up the weak ones.

I'm 21 years old. My mom's over-protective, so it won't happen anytime soon, even though I'm allowed to do what I want with my money.

As for MvC 3...There is no telling if that will ever happen, I'm afraid.

Nah Kirby. The 6 characters you can pick are:

Ryu (Low Tier)
Strider (High tier with Doom, but there is no doom in the demo lol, so I'd say Mid Tier?)
Chun-Li (Garbage tier)

Iron Man (High Tier)
Spider Man (Low Tier)
Wolverine (Low Tier)

why did i list the tiers. im so ********. excuse me.

If you're 21 years old, what does it matter what your mom says? You're legally an adult and can do whatever you want.

Hi desert, Socal
Is it worth playing on PS2?
If you're looking to enhance your game to a higher level of competitive play, then no.
If you get it to play it casually by yourself or with friends, then it's ok.

900-hit combo achievement. Hardcore. I must play the PSN port. :)
This made me think about something. Would all the glitches we love stay intact? I was thinking about the Iceman never ending super glitch.

Depends. They said game breaking glitches like the Gambit glitch are out.

Basically, all the ones we hate are out.
All the ones we love are in.

Hi desert, Socal
Particularly unfly, fastfly, and 1st char switch.

I know from next year onward, EVO will run Marvel on PS3. And it will go through a revival being that it's $15.

Next issue, Netcode. I WILL SETTLE FOR NOTHING LESS THAN GGPO!!!

They're not using GGPO.
I think they said that they're using some upgraded version of HD Remix's netcode.

But since this game's online, which system are you guys getting it for?
I'll be getting it for PS3 and a stick, but I also have a 360.

My arcade stick is Sanwa (which is awkward for Marvel), but it still gets the job done.

So, does anyone know if this game will get rebalanced?
I doubt it, but I can dream, can't I?

I'll probably get this once I feel like buying a ps3....
