His sword takes ip the whole stage! All in his favor cuz small ceiling and plats are sep up for combos. Once you get used to the moving plats you can try to screw your opponent to where he's platless and your still camping under a plat or just make sure he's not. Edge guarding Co0! here too.

i dont really like this stage alot with marth. its not big enough for Dash Dance to be as effective and the platforms move. yoshis is small too, but the platforms are set up perfectally.

I personally like it, especially against my friend when he plays a spacie. It's probably my third favorite with Yoshi's and FD being my 1st 'n 2nd. The moving platforms is fun to play with and it gives me good counter opportunities (even though I don't counter often). Plus no liability when you screw up a ledge drop into a nair or fair 'cause you won't get stuck under the stage when you up-b (Dreamland D:).

I love FoD, you can get the auto uairs like on yoshi's. (Short hop and uair at the top of your jump to hit someone on the top plat.) I also like the auto tippers no matter what elevation the platforms are at. High ceiling also helps for living longer, it benefits those with Good DI, such as me. (DI is probably my strongest point)

Fairs destory that stage. YS is still better for Marth. FoD is just the awkard fail remake of YS. You can't tipper through plats like you can on YS. Uair ***** here. Grabs can get weird as hell because of the platforms.

Idk I just hate it
Me and my friends usually go LR start when that stage shows up on random, but maybe I should try to look more into it :)

What
Doesn't FoD have a deceptively high ceiling or was that meant to say something like "top platform" ~_~

Practice practice practice!!!!!! Know your swords range for each map. A good Marth has knowledge of all boards. Fountain of dreams favors Marth so much! Just know when the plats start to move. Know when a tipper hits. And LCANCEL !!!!!!!!

This isn't halo, its a stage, not a map.

Well that's clearly a given...
Everything he says is obvious, I stopped reading his posts.

you can spam the 1st B over or when opponents are on the opposite platforms .

and the top platform and SH Uair covers just the rear of if you can get off a pretty well developed comboed after getting it for a tech

usually stay under the top platform if you find yourself losing the changing platforms is a pain for marth

generally its not a bad stage , just make sure you can get strong attacks of the top platform cause fox / falco / falcon will always try to recover on top of there.

most of the time when players tech on platforms just wavedash down on the platform and grab again
to get something started

FoD has the second highest ceiling behing DL.

I remember reading something in some 'ol matchup thread somewhere about FoD being marths worst stage because the lower platforms disrupt his combos or something. Oh well. Its probably old/jank.

Ledgehop Fair autocancels on it, ergo, its good.

I've been off of the forums trying to make my Marth. I think I've taken another step towards him by discovering shuffling like crazi! I try to never neutral sh upair unless I plan to dash out of it like a bait. I am getting pretty good at, very hard, dash or sh left or right upair l cancel dash then quick dash bak then your set up for another shuffle, grab, anything. Under plats I'm usually mid map so I'll dash sh upair YO the left then lcancel come back to the right do it again. Once you get fast at it even falcos will be scared! I'll do like a tornado of upairs with my upness priority and my opponent will literally freak out. If your never knowing what to do shuffle it up.

I'm not sure if Marth himself is good on FoD, but compared to other characters he does better!
I get Falcons and Falcos that ban FoD on me because it messes up their combos.
And the platforms messes up SH laser when they're low.
I like it against Fox because of the high ceiling and if I'm not mistaken, are the sides smaller than most?
The stage seems to be the same size as Yoshi's. Small stage= High sword to stage coverage ratio. ^^
The only gripes I have with the stage are when the platforms are low, you can't crouch/hide under them to avoid attacks and retaliate with an uptilt. But then again, that height is when it messed up with shffl approaches and other things.
Not sure if it's that bad against Peach and Samus like you say, Dart. What makes you say that?

Conclusion:
If YS is banned, I CP FoD. If FoD is banned, I CP YS. They seem to be the same size. Small enough for your fsmash to cover half the stage.
Unless it's a Marth ditto. Then I like going big like Poke'mon. A Marth ditto on a small stage is like 2 hotdogs in 1 bun.

Marth's best neutrals(in order)

FD,YS,BF,FoD,DL64

I prefer DL64 sometimes over BF and FoD, but Marth is very good on small stages where he can get fsmash kills earlier.

I just think Marth doesn't have a bad stage, except DL64. And that only matters if the Fox/Falco your playing is campy. Falcon and Sheik are good here though. And Peach/puff is def a ban.

Stay with Marth and learn your bad matchups like the rest of the great players!
