I decided i'm going to write a Marth guide. I haven't really contributed much to the marth boards, but i think this will help.

I don't know how to really start this off, so i'll draw a rough guide i suppose, i'm going to start recording with hugs/fiction/dehf in the next couple of weeks, so i'll have videos to post up of top players.

Taking Advantage of every situation
Punishing
Playing it safe
Every action has a consequence
Conditioning/Shampooing
MINDRAPE
Spacing Errors on purpose?
Baiting

what am i missing?

"When to play offensive, when to play defensive" and "Keeping cool"

I dont know just threw some things out there off the top of my head. Everything else has pretty much been covered though. =/

Oh and CK :079: > :070:

Whatever this ends up being i think it should be stickied to provide an overall outlook on what Marth should be played like.

You know like them Snake boards and MK boards have.

That list is amazing.

Spacing Errors on purpose?
It's things like these that seperate the high-level players from everyone else.

I'm looking forward to this, tired of seeing the same old 'up-b is such a mindgame' and 'bait their airdodge to reset the situation' guides.

It's about time we moved on to something new and all the ***-kissing for guides like those stopped—we should all know the difference between aggressive and defensive styles by now.

My minds blank, but it seems you have everything in order. Might I suggest following the Links guide format when making it, that was an extremely well done guide IMO.

This is a good idea

Add a How To **** Metaknight section and your done!
jk

I think ur missing Full On Attack!!! I.E. Offensive/aggressive playing style. It might be a good idea to show other marths how to apply the pressure without getting shield grabbed =P
You can probably cover how to be Aggressive incorrectly with your other fields, as well as being defensive, so no problem there

This would be a big task and it's honestly directed toward more than just you but....I figure I'd post it anyways =]

How has marth's metagame developed since 2009 began? Basically, what's changed from December 2008 to now?

I ask you this because you're obviously one of the WC representatives. Although everyone does say your Marth is unlike any other =b.

Aggressive and defensive styles is a really good thing to have in a Marth guide in my opinion. He's pretty versatile.

You could also discuss topics beyond the actual strategy of the game. I mean to say that you could list what Marth's could look for if they wanted to look for a AT or an approach strategy. Innovation will reveal ATs naturally, but sometimes its useful to narrow the search down.

That's good how you are going to write a guide for the Marth boards! :) The sections you have ATM are good so far. I've got a few suggestions that you may want to add to your guide:

-Approaching with Marth
-Out of Shield abilities (OoS)
-Pro's and Con's
-Why use this character/This character is ideal for people who... (According to their playstyle preference.)
-Canceling Air momentum with Marth (Use Fair)
-Safe/Poke moves (Eg. D-tilt)
-Reliable KO moves/KO'ing with Marth.
-Marth's Chain grab. (It's not THAT great, but it's useful to know.)
-How Marth should be used + how to use each playstyle for Marth/Preferred one for Marth
-Grab release
-Analysis on Ground, Air and Grab game

That's all I can come up with ATM. Hopefully that should give you a better idea how to start this guide. I might provide some more ideas later if you want. I'm in the process of writing a guide too BTW. (Not a Marth one, but something MUCH bigger.) I've fully planned mine out, however, it's going to be some time before I start. If you want some help structuring your guide, just ask or PM me if you wish.

Directly above you tipping a dair.
Ankoku, you are missing the bubble after "**** it, I'm playing Meta Knight" that asks "Did you get Tornadoed?" with and arrow saying "Yes" pointing back to "FORWARD SMASH". (I like how it starts with "hmm" though and only goes to "Forward Air" rofl)

On topic:
I had a random thought about a list of playstyles that are most effective against each character. Something simple like Kirby: Agressive, etc. Maybe a section on your opponents options vs marths options in certain situations involving position would be helpful as well.

The problem is that you never hit and they always do.

We were just talking about a "fair better" option, lol

I find NAir to be extremely useful against Falco.
Laser camping?.....FAir his ***. Got hit by a laser and expected the inevitable to happen? NAir his ***. Is he approaching with an aerial?
NAir his Wayward ***.....really NAir is a blessing.
When opponents meet my Marth in the air I find NAir more useful then FAir 90% of the time....

FF U-air is soo sexy to crossover on falco, at low % it combos to utilt and juggle traps, which = **** cause falcos got Nothing on us when he's above us
Nair i find is alot better for edgeguarding and offstage, but thats probably cause im bad at spacing it =P
