I love using up B (I use it if I'm feeling really nervous, and just go with it, which usually doesn't work a lot xD), especially for kills, it's so funny to KO with it xD.

And you'll do fine Xero! You got this! And get videos too please ;).

If they're too high and you can't reach them with a double jump, it is VERY HARD to hit people who fastfall airdodge or something. Or if they B reversal for that matter. Mario is a little bit too floaty to be easily punishing fastfall airdodges from extremely high altitudes imo.
QFT

I don't know if anyone else is bothered by this, but I HATE Mario's fallspeed. Dair speeds it up...but it's committed...

It's hard to pressure sometimes because of it.

F-throw puts them in jump range and fireball range. B-throw puts them outside of both those ranges.
Like I said, it's down to preference.

Bthrow may not put them into immediate danger, but correct prediction (which I'm decently good at) after the throw means extra damage. The damage from the initial throw is good too.

You could always predict their land and punish them accordingly.

Honestly, there's a ton of things you can do to players who are above you, especially if they're not metaknight, go nuts they're above you and with proper prediction/response/timing/baiting you can do whatever the hell you want to them.

Like up-b, I think we should start using that more for lulz. (Seriously, one day I'm going to throw a match and just use Up-Bs)
UpB is too goodz....12%? Whaaaaat?

I've been doing this forever.

Mario's fastest option for edgeguards. Run off the stage and U-air. It hits fairly horizontally anyway, so it gets the job done.

I don't think however Mario users edgeguard with N-air enough. N-air is a near-perfect edgeguard against most of the cast, in that it will beat everything besides the ledgeroll if you space/time it correctly (and predicted ledgerolls can be punished with a Smash). The best part is that it puts them offstage again in a position where it's very easy to followup. If they freak out and you hit them out of their midair jump, even better.
Weak Nair >>>> Diddy's recovery.

Try F-throw -> Fireball. It's awesome. Never use B-throw except for emergency kills.

How to compensate for range, spaced Capes can outrange stuff. Reverse F-smash is the 5th longest ranged F-smash in the game (after Falco Wolf DDD ZSS). Fireball approach forces defensive reactions. Pivot walking can let you shield slide backwards and then B-air out of shield. F-tilt never gets used enough. Sliding Up-smashes can slide over half of BF.
Mario's Fsmash outranges Lucario's? That doesn't seem right...

The disjoint on Lucario's Fsmash is MUCH larger than ours, but we can hit a target from further away.

If we both Fsmashed into each other at the same time, Lucario would win because the entire thing is disjointed. Incorporate the leanback and the distance alone, however, and ours technically has more range.

I've punished a whiffed DK Fsmash, Snake Fsmash and Lucario Fsmash without moving using my own Fsmash. By whiffed, I mean it was so close to hitting me, it singed Mario's mustache hairs...the spacing was a tiny bit off.

Punishing DK with F-smash is amazing in general.

Fools at the DK board don't know what a skilled Mario can do to DK. Matchup is dead even or slightly in Mario's favor.

Ah, okay. Thanks for the clarification.

nair does not beat diddys kick only thing that will is a spaced cape.
Yeah, that's true. I should have specified UpB (which they're forced to use after you cape their kick  ).

Wait, what do they have that MU as? I have always thought it was even myself...

Is ours faster? That could be why...

Otherwise, it shouldn't have happened. You can just look at it and tell we'd get hit...we lean in too far.

Mario's F-smash technically reaches further and starts up faster. Lucario's F-smash is more disjointed and has a LOT less ending lag.

Anyhow I don't think I see Mario mains implementing charged F-smashes enough. Mario is one of the best characters in the game at implementing charged F-smashes due to the nature of the massive leanback of his F-smash, and the move becomes increasingly better on shields the longer it is charged, being able to acquire enough pushback to be virtually safe on block. Plus, doing over 20% or killing someone at 70-80% with a charged F-smash is much too good to pass up when the spacing opportunity arises.

Probably the only character that definitely has a better charged F-smash is Falco, since his F-smash is one of few that has more range than Mario's, and the space he controls with it is pretty stupid.

I have a concert so I won't be at Viridian.

@Kirin and Xero: Good **** for making top 10 in your regions. Proud of you guys.

@Xero: Wtf is up with your region. No MKs or Snake mains in top 10. You do have a couple of Diddy's and a few Olimar's which is legit but there's a problem if there's no MK or Snake in the top 10.

Random question to Kirin: do you use one of your characters more or is it about even?

Renegade is a Snake main, but he wasn't on this list due to inactivity. If he was active he'd be at #3 probably. Also, there aren't really any legit MKs in IN/KY which is nice. No one likes him here. Ohio is a different story, though.

Inferno, NOBODY (except for Renegade) uses MK/Snake in Indiana/Kentucky.

NOBODY!!! I'm the closest thing to an MK main! Because I used him a few times!

Also, Tactical is a Lucario main, he only uses Luigi for lolz I'm not even sure why he's got Luigi on his name on that list.

KY/IN don't have a whole lot of smashers, so their PR is put together.
And I don't want to hate, but the reason you haven't heard of most of these people is because, generally speaking, when it comes to top players in MW east, OH and MI > IN and KY.

I've almost beaten or have beaten a few of the good Ohio players, and I haven't played any MI players since... C4 Galore.

Honestly, the top players of IN/KY are really good. Krys/Joey are wifi pros and are also really good offline, Ren/Count/Hilt/Myself are good as well. Oh yeah, let's not forget Judo's stunning performance at VGbootcamp (nearly beating Boss/Logic), so I'll include him in there as well.

I admit, we could be lots better, and we're working on that =D

@Xero:
Not trying to bash you guys. You do have good players. I'm just saying MI has Judge, Lain, Anther, etc. and OH has AZ, Blue Rogue, Shugo, Nope, Scribz (gotta insert Dayton Pride, and his performance at Pound means I can legit mention him, not to mention he ***** the last KY tourny he went to :p), etc.

Also, I still get beaten by pretty much every good or decent player in any of these states, so yeah
