Ah ****ty deal. I really liked that theory.

Oh well... so much for that then.
I loved the theory too, and it seemed entirely true until I sucked up the gut to post it on Zelda Universe, where it was shot down immediately with "bull**** theories suck, blah blah blah" etc.

Yes. I am just that awesome.

And I managed to do hide and seek too.
I really want to challenge myself like that.

But first, I need to figure how to finish the Kafei quest >.<

I got stuck at the part where Kafei is waiting for the mask to get to the shop. But I had to restart 'cause I couldn't figure it out and didn't have access to the internet at the time. =/

so regarding the link posted on the first page that talks about the message of majora's mask...it shows that the number 4 is profound in termina as opposed to 3, and that the triforce is only seen on some gargoyles crotch where they are licking it...I noticed that the triforce also appears in south clock town outside of the clock tower, two of the triangles can be seen in the pattern on the street, and the third is a triangle structure, so you would only really see that it is the triforce when viewed from above...do you think that like the gargoyle statues this could be significant, or is it a simple easter egg?

I think what makes me love this game so much, its not the fact that its a 3d Zelda game but the story and the characters and the whole feel of it. It's a much deeper Zelda game, at least in my opinion. Its really sweet to. The whole point of the game is friendship. Skullkid is angry at the world, because his only friends the four giants are needed by the world, and so they have to leave him behind. Even though he thought he had been abandoned they were still his friends this whole time.

I guess because it doesn't have to really do with the Triforce or any of that other things known to Zelda its what sets it apart and unique.

You could've editted your previous post and said "I was refering to Kishiru's post." or something.

And guys, I need your help. I'm torn between whether MM or OoT is better. Someone give me advice.

How can we decide which game you like better?

Have you ever heard of this wonderful concept called opinions? :lick:

But seriously, it's all a matter of opinion.

But be careful not to pull a pennywise when expressing them. :)
Majora's Mask has masks, so I guess that's pretty cool. I liked OoT a lot. :)

Just a question, though. Is Majora's mask more of an open-ended game than OoT?

Well, are you trying to figure out which you prefer? Or which is subjectively a better game? I mean, I have such an emotional attachment to OoT because it got me in the formative years of early adolescence, and had a very important extra 2-3 years to make an impression on me before MM even came out. I've played OoT a couple dozen times, whereas I've finished MM... maybe 5? Probably only once with all masks, and perhaps never with all heart pieces. So, I love OoT more, no question. But as for which is better? That's harder for me. I ight have to go against my heart and say MM because it improved upon OoT in so many ways, with characterization, depth of story, quantity and quality of side quests... So yeah, it's up to you.

K, so guys, I decided I'd attempt to do a run where I helped as many people as possible in all three days. I'm at Dawn of the Second Day, and here's what I've done so far:

  • Healed Pamela's Father
  • Finished the Title Deed quest
  • Played Hide and Seek with the Bombers
  • Saved Romani Ranch from "Them"
  • EVERYTHING in the Kafei/Anju quest up to this point
  • Stopped the argument in the Mayor's Office
  • Played Ballad of the Wind Fish
  • Played the Postman's timing game
  • Taught the Rosa Sisters the Dance
  • Listened to one of Anju's Grandmother's stories
  • Healed Kamaro
  • Aged all the chickens to help Grog
  • Healed Shiro
  • Listened to Guru-Guru's story
  • Beat all four temple bosses
  • Brought the Deku Princess back
  • Got the Red Potion to Koume.
  • Had enough time to sit around for a few in-game hours waiting for Anju to come to the meeting and for "Them" to attack.

Inverted Song of Time is officially broken.

To all the people who responded to my previous post,
I was being sarcastic about the advice thing. I do like both games but in different ways.

To Darkurai, ****. ISoT is more broken than Metaknight.

Now you have to
1.Beat the gorman bros. in a race
2.Keep the milk from being damaged by the Gorman bros.
3.Win the goron race
4.Kill the sea snakes to get the eggs and reunite the sea horses
5.Complete the spider houses
6.Compleate the anju and kafei quest

and thats all I can think of right now but, how dare you forget to save the old woman from being robbed.

I didn't really plan on doing the Horce Race because, well, that's hardly helping anyone, now is it? But I'll do that if I must. The spider houses and the eggs are honestly the biggest problem I see, but with two full days, I don't see myself having much trouble.

...frick, can you still save the eggs after beating Gyorg?

That's an interesting question.

OoT is open-ended in that Hyrule is literally far more open than MM's Termina.

MM is open-ended in that it is far more eventful than OoT. Termina is very closed and tightly packed due to it having four entirely different regions compressed around a small circular field. It feels incredibly unrealistic while Hyrule feels natural.

OoT Hyrule is a more open physical area. It feels wide and open and vast, even in OoT. In MM, there's less of that feeling, for me, but that game is more open in that there's more to do in this less-open world.

Hehe, a reiteration of what I said previously. No no, it's good.

Sorta on topic for this discussion. Maybe Termina Field is circular due to the fact that it's a crater from a previous incident of the moon/a meteor hitting the earth?

Has anyone noticed that the walls inside Clock Town are angular, meaning that the city exists as a square, but from the outside they're curved as if the city were a circle?
They could just have built the walls that way. I don't see why this is important.

I have wondered about that, is there any other place like this(that is like Clock Town)?

I've just beaten the 2nd boss you encounter in the game and first thing i thought of was he is so fun to vs.

I'm playing through it very slowly on VC so i enjoy it more.

Its funny, Goht and Twin Mold are the only two bosses in the game that isnt extreamly easy to defeat with the Fierce Diety Mask. I find it easier to defeat Ghot with Goron Link. The other bosses are jokes with the mask on though. Even Majora's Mask can be defeated in less than a minute with the mask on :p

Twinmold is an obnoxious boss, imo. Even with the Giant's Mask it's still stupidly hard.

Majora's mask was my favorite of the Zelda series for so many reasons. The three day cycle was a very interesting spinoff, and while it may seem as a turn off to some since it allows for a less open-end exploration, the game allows you to manipulate time by playing the song of time either faster or slower. Majora's mask was also the most thematic of the Zelda series, getting into dark themes that become evident as you play through the game. Skull kid shows of themes of racism and as you collect stickers in your bombers notebook more dark and twisted themes arise; the stone temple shows off a bit of postmodernism aswell by introducing perspective in the temple!

Too much to say about this game, it's way too good. Anyone who is a Zelda fan or is remotely interested in RPG's will love this game.

Twinmold wasn't much of an issue from memory. Now that I think about it I can't really remember any of the bosses being too difficult. That being said I think MM had some of the most fun and unique boss fights in the series (the Bull-like boss was amazing)

I was unclear due to a poor word choice. Twinmold wasn't hard just long and stupid. I've never actually died fighting Twinmold, but the stupid thing is so hard to hit that I spend 3 in-game hours fighting it with the Inverted Song of Time active, regardless of what Mask I'm using.

Wait, you guys are saying the first and 3rd bosses are easy with the Fierce Deity Mask. Ok the Odwalda can be killed in 5 seconds, probably less. But it's actually possible to kill Gyorg with the Deity Mask? All it does is stun him because the blasts from the sword. The easiest way to kill Gyorg is just fight him underwater the whole time. How is it possible to even damage Gyorg with the Deity Mask?
