Forfeiting because of whatever reasons is one thing, but doing so with people you are involved in splitting with is INCREDIBLY shady and looks very intentional, which is clearly outlined in the rules as not being allowed.

It takes judgement to determine what is right and what is wrong, and this is majorly leaning towards the wrong side.

The apology from M2K is nice though and much better than any of the posts made by other people involved in this like Anti.

Morals aren't required at video games tournaments.... M2K didn't punch anyone or steal anyones belongings, he chose to forfeit when he wanted to and play when he wanted it, regardless if they split or not. If this is a "problem" and is causing drama then this community is terrible.

im sorry to everyone. i wouldnt be surprised if i got banned from future ktars since maybe i deserve to. it's also true i dont enjoy the game anymore and i do just attend events for the money. before i used to truely love it a lot but i don't share those feelings anymore with smash. also sorry dabuz, it wasn't my intentions but u were victim to them anyway

You pretty much won't find any competitive scene where it's acceptable to attempt to find loop holes to 1-up the system so you and involved parties gain a favorable advantage.

People being selfish are out of our control but did Jason didn't break the rules, he payed for singles and did what he wanted to with his entree. I don't think its right but he didn't break any rules.

Intentional forfeiting, match fixing, splitting, and any other forms of bracket manipulation is not allowed and punishable by the TO.

Play to win, isn't everyone focusing on winning? And if all the top placers decide to split it should be there decision, what difference does it make?

I think people don't take it seriously because being DQ'd isn't a very harsh punishment, especially when you're friends with and will be splitting with half of the top placers anyway

I accept the apology, i understand your feelings at that time, i truly do, but something still has to be done to be done about this to prevent this from reoccurring.

For now, just take a break, you need it. Try to enjoy the game again, thats what this game was made for and why tournaments are run.

I wish you the best of luck in sorting out W/E is happening in your life ATM. So lets just end this nightmare.
