Ah, it was you. I was wondering where the gamefaqs thread had gone, so I posted here. (Don't think about it too hard.)

Anyway, you, sir, are awesome.

Just looked at one of the game's recommendations, says that you should hide when you're an angel. Is this game encouraging camping?

Also just got the Fortune's Jukebox power up.

My fav is probably Dark pit's theme.

Lol thanks, but I still need to find OD-4 on a melee only weapon... That's the reason I haven't been updating, but as soon as I find one, I should be done.

Favorite song is still Mangus' theme, full of adventure, but has a hidden sadness that Magnus holds inside.

Thinking about picking this game up again and doing some online, treasure hunting, and good ole fusing. Hope we can resuscitate life back in here, I miss it. :(

I finished Palutena's Treasure Hunt~

And I fought people online in LvD and they didn't deplete my team's health at all until Pit arrived >_>

Magnus' Theme is the best, like seriously, it is.

I have nothing better to do tonight, so I might play some...3DS is not even a foot away, yet I keep ignoring it. :scared:

Man, I can't decide on whether I enjoy dark pit's theme or magnus' theme more. They are both so awesome.

Tomorrow night I am making a room and hoping some of you will get in.

Tried to jump into solo mode tonight and just couldn't get into doing achievements, did one and kind of went meh. Might go back and do the final chapter for one achievement, and at the very least enjoy the greatness that is Hades and listen to him talk after the credits. <3

Had fun trolling by making my profile name the same as the common bot name "nes4ever" and using a od+8 health +6 viper blade and staying afk for most of a match, coming back minutes later to see mainly just 2/3rds of my health depleted.

So in the end, offering hearts doesn't actually do something, huh?

I played quite a bit today actually. Did 9.0 on one level and I was grinding for hearts.

Good job Ndayday! :D I went back and tried to do chapters and having not played it in so long I'm absolutely terrible at the chapters. Yet when I went online, I tore up nubs like I always have.

Unfortunately when I said I'd make that room, I didn't. :c I feel bad about that, I want to play some online. The chapters are the best part, but not in the addictive sense like the online.

Yea, weapons which do well online and ones which do well in solo are totally different.

I use shot defense +3 heart bonus +3 dash ch. shot + aurum orbitars for solo.

I usually use my 295 Aurum Palm w/ +3 healing and +3 speed or my 305 Artillery Claws w/ +4 Healing and +2 speed for Solo. I also have Viridi Palm w/ the healing and speed, but it has a pretty slow constant fire so I don't really like it.

The healing is seriously the best perk you can have on a weapon for solo imo

I'd expect defense would be the best one to have on the higher difficulties. Then again, I wouldn't know because I haven't tried that a lot. Still only good at online.

I don't bother with recovery effect + anymore. The value would be better allocated to more defense/health or stars since preventing the damage entirely is better than being able to get it back when/if you have the time. (also double item fills the role of recovery effect if you REALLY need it with food)

And yea, defense is best for solo. Health is better for multi. As it's cheaper and is cheaper mostly because it doesn't work as well as defense does with healing effects, which are rare in multi.

I have a few weapons with od+8 and health +6... I just can't die lol. Though it isn't on any really good weapons yet, trying to turn it into aurum orbitars so i can kill.

Well mostly my issue with healing is that the fighting is so hectic it is hindering and sometimes impossible to heal in some situations. This applies in moth together and solo mode. That and I just figured not getting too much damage that demands healing to begin with was better.

I have a claw that has like +8 defense and I have been dying to try and fuse it with something stronger, it is absolutely frustrating. I'd seriously be willing to try level 9 difficulties on chapters with something at the very least like that.

Powerhouse, Overall Defense +8 and Health +6 weapons... I want that so bad. ._______. A strong weapon with just those two stats would be all I need, I could throw away everything else. Wish fusing was more simple so I could easily produce something like that, let alone a stronger version of that.

Just played with a person who won everytime, sometimes even getting over twenty kills, and he used multiple weapons, though their stats were always the same pretty much. Their melee attack had -2, but the charged shots had +4 (maybe +3?) and two other shots that had +2. Wish I remembered it better, but his name was all stars, that is what I recall the most. XD I never felt so outclassed.. I need to fuse more and think about my abilities. I think he had the one that shines the light around him or something, that is all I remember.

I never really thought about the defense like that. I kind of just figured that having one piece of food fill half your meter was all I needed, lol.

I wonder if I can fuse something that has speed, defense, and recovery, then.

Heavenly Light is the ability that shines light around you. It is better suited for weapons with a shorter range to maximize damage.

And I remember that "All-*" guy before. He is mostly on Free-For-All and usually runs weapons that have maxed stars in both melee and range. Not the best of players, technique wise, but his weapons sure do pack a wallop.

Haha no, his name was literally a bunch of stars. Sorry, I made that very unclear.

Also, I think the light might have been Aries' Armor. Just tested that out, absolutely ruined everyone with it. I had no idea it came back everytime you died and lasts as long as it does. I'm guessing that is what he was using and I was mistaken, basically if you have a strong weapon, and that on, you can just weapon a person to death.

But back to the match I just played, I used Aries' Armor with Super Armor and the ability that prevents everyone else from using them. So basically, I stacked the two armors, used the ability canceling ball, and just outclassed them in a weapon fight because of my defense and high melee/ranged power. Though I only went 10-3, so not sure if it was my best idea.

Recovery effect should only come after you max on health and defense.. And even then, evasion, speed, and even just more power could prevent taking on too much damage.

And lol, is it a brawler claw? I foolishly fused that away from hades' treasure hunt... I'm playing a second file for it. It's starless, so it can be used for melee, another starless, OR ranged. I'm going to make a melee od+8 health +6 weapon as melee stars cost less so i can make an actually powerful weapon.

Also, shot defense + is imo better than overall. As it's cheaper, most of the really scary players use shots anyway, and is easier to incorporate into a weapon.

I never really thought about the defense like that. I kind of just figured that having one piece of food fill half your meter was all I needed, lol.

Speed isn't really neccesary. Just use the foxtrot for most weapons.. unless you're using something which lowers inherent speed like the ancient staff.

You should try for aurum orbitars, they're pretty popular for solo due to high damage, and lightning fast charge time. (almost magnus fast) Their back dash shots also can hit about 350+ damage on max stars + dash mods.

That all stars player is Drazonix(or dragonhero1996 on youtube). He used to boast about being the best at this game, except he used 6/6 weapons with overall defense-4... Honestly, this may just be my ego but i think he changed his methods after i thuroughly trounced him with my shot range +3 Shot homing +3 Dash/Fwd Dash. Ch. shot +4 weapons cause it was so soon after i played him, and it seems like that's all he makes, and uses now lol.

He's actually pretty good now, he took me by surprise the first game i played with him recently as I didn't know his weapons had such good stats now and won. After that though, he only managed to beat me once more out of 10 or so games because he got power drop -.-

I think I actually played that guy too the other day.

Can't remember if I won or not as it was LvD so it was more of a team effort, but I do remember that guy being pretty good.

Flintlock kind of sucks imo. Even with autoreticle is misses if they move even an inch with me. Though I do like that discovery with shot range -3 and flintlock.

I prefer weapons which can oneshot while still hitting accurately... like lancer, palutena bow, or aurum orbitars.

I don't have too much trouble. I think I'm addicted to hitting 630+ damage in a single shot, though. Helps that mine paralyzes whenever it touches something.

Also somebody on LvD just got a 4-star Melee / Speed +4 / Melee Dash +1 Upperdash Arm. I am so jealous.

I once had ab Upperdash Arm with 5 melee stars and +4 melee dash attack.

It was somewhat broken in single player, but really useless in multiplayer. Mainly because everyone is a complete spaz.

Nah, Speed is the best thing to get on an Upperdash. The Melee bonuses are just icing. You can also sort of predict latency by preemptively manual Meleeing. Usually hits them.

You've got to play with Upperdash like you're playing Sonic. Speed, trickery, and combos. Upperdash has amazing knockback. Either you're landing a techchase or doing an aerial combo. Though lately I feel it's more like Falcon with that melee dash "knee".

630 is entirely overkill... You only need 222 to kill any player with no def mods (most players)

Also starting a new eyetrack project. I'm really tired of being targeted after i crush players for a few matches, also Eyetracks kill just about as well at 6 stars as they do 3/4 due to needing to use two charge shots against good players anyway. So I'm making a health +6 shot defense +2 pair. (along with shot range, fwd dash ch. shot and speed -4)

I have all the mods on a pandora claw... But claws can't go into orbitars so i need to loop -.-

Also upperdash is one of, if not the lowest value OHKO weapons iirc. (I believe 5 melee is enough for the dash to OHKO no def players) so you can just get 1 star melee, +4 dash attack and you'd only be at freaking 137 value. Though, since it's a dash attack mod you really need knockback defense +4 to accurately rush people. Shot defense, Running speed, and maybe effect duration to abuse transparency.

You get a LOT more points for killing with low value weapons. I remember i only got like 4 kills and beat someone with 12 in FFA. They were using a 320 taurus and i was using a 197 samurai blade.

Doesn't the weapon itself have inherent health / def mods? Y'know, as opposed to its bonuses. Pretty sure 222 damage has rarely instakilled players..

What's the power set for that? I use Quick Charge + Black Hole as the bread-and-butter on mine. Backdash -> Black Hole -> Forward Dash

No weapons have inherent defense whatsoever. Only mods, and powers can give or take defense.
222 is the default health of a fighter. And assuming most players don't use defense/health mods, it will OHKO most.

And you use slip shot + homing boost... It loops around opponent's several times and goes through walls. It's pretty impossible to dodge without evasion +3/4 unless it was at the end of it's cycle. If you have a homing +3 range +3 copy, you can kill in one shot if you just use freezing. It will hold them in place as the eyetracks loop back around for about half of the original damage. I couple it with invisible shots as it doesn't loop as tightly. But i feel homing boost is more reliable to get damage. After it hits first, they'll usually die as they can't properly dodge the second shot you'll throw out as the two different shots will overlap and both try to hit the opponent.

Reminds me of this really awesome Great Reaper Palm I have. It has +3 homing, +3 weakening, and +2 range with about 5 1/2 ranged stars. Basically charges shots chase after the opponent ruthlessly, which is very helpful for evasive opponents. It's sadly fairly useless in single player, mostly due to the shots still being fairly weak.

Asking a group of fans for a game if they think it's worth buying... lol
But yea, it has good reviews and lots of playability. I'm at 150 hours. The big problem is the controls, it's hit or miss with a lot of people. It took me about a day to get used to it, but some people take longer or never bother.

I had to play someone with 6 star eye tracks with +3 homing, +3 range and +4 dash charge shot.
They are so broken D:

And I never had any controls issues, I just set the sensitivity high and I was fine.

Kid Icarus Uprising is probably the most solid 3DS title out there right now, and has some of the best characters I've seen in a Nintendo game, ever.

Yea. Only reason it doesn't get better reviews is because reviewers like to rush through games and don't take the time to learn the controls.

That's my take anyway, all reviews which aren't above average seem to be so because of the controls.
