Yeah Hadesblade is retardedly good. I really want a rematch with him. Going Mario game 1 was a huge mistake, but I didn't expect my Kirby to do so well, and didn't realize wolf ***** Yoshi.
Man though, he made it look so easy. When I played him/watched him play, he was making me think "wow Yoshi is so good" rather than "wow this player is so good" but then I realized I wasn't giving enough credit to the actual player, since Yoshi doesn't exactly read landings and pivot grab them by himself
I'll do better next time >:O! It's possible that Yoshi is one of those characters that is easy to beat once you're used to them (like Mario and Sonic are for me now... lol)
...but then again, just looking at Yoshi's moveset, it's intimidating. Nair, jabs, uair, tilts...they all come out SO FAST. His Nair can be used to break combos just as well as Luigi's. Whenever I did a dash attack or uptilt with Fox at low %, I got Nair'd. (so obviously, don't do that)
His jab beats everything when you're up close. And then, unless apparently I DI down and spotdodge, he gets a free grab everytime he jabs me. Bair has pretty much no landing lag so yeah, good spacing tool. B-reverse mixups make it harder to predict what he's going to do, and he was guaranteed to hit me with at least one more move while I was still in the egg. Eggs are annoying as hell, even offline where I'm less likely to get hit by them as much. Reflecting them is useless for the most part since they don't go back far enough to hit him usually
Uhhh...down B is legit enough, I dunno if I actually got hit by it much though. Same with Dair, I saw him using Dair to shieldpressure other people, but I don't remember it being used on me, it's possible that I was moving around too much for it or something. Didn't see much Fair either.
So basically, against Yoshi, I had to watch out for:
-jabs
-grabbing me out of my landings or out of jabs
-bair autocanceling into tilts and stuff
-tilts
-Nair
-uair kills
-neutral B mixups in the air
-occasional smash kills
It's a pretty fun matchup though once you're getting used to it.
*considers how Kirby would do against Yoshi*
He won't have to worry about getting grabbed as much maybe, since he can stay in the air longer than Fox (if you don't count shinestall)
Problem is, does he beat Yoshi in the air/on the ground? Yoshi's jabs would trash him up close, the grabs would beat him at a longer range, and Kirby's tilts/grabs are punishable by Yoshi's own grabs/tilts. Kirby seems safest in the air, where I think he outprioritizes Yoshi with Bair, but he has to watch out for Yoshi's vastly superior mobility, and of course double jump superarmor :D
