It isn't very accurate, nor does it affect his chances.
Itt does effect his chances. K. Rool has more to work with, almost all of which is super evident. Mega Man, Little Mac, and the Villager all had more to work with than say Waluigi, Toad, or Ashley. Compare how the former trio of characters compared to the latter. Oh, and consider the former is more relevant in terms of additions to gameplay and to their respective franchises, just like how K. Rool is more relevant to the DK series than say Tiki, whom you listed. The ball is in your court in regards to proving me inaccurate in terms of gameplay potential, options, and playability.
Well, I'd actually say being able to be unique does add something, but so could everybody else listed plus hundreds of other characters.
Not based on moves and movements and all that jazz from their previous games. You would have to make up a ton of stuff for say Tiki to have anywhere near as much originality as K. Rool, as well as premium move content for a character. That takes a lot of time and requires a lot more money.
Sure, some characters like Captain Falcon get random stuff for sure (Power Rangers). The Villager is centered around random uses of everyday Animal Crossing items. Other characters like Mario and Luigi are inspired by other fighting game characters (Ryu and Ken from Street Fighter). Rosalina is basically Eddie from Guilty Gear. The Wii Fit Trainer has a lot of properties of a Virtual Fighter character. Then there's some characters that are based around concepts: Fox's moveset is basically the moves of an Arwing as a character. ROB is based on the general robot character fighting game concept. The Ice Climbers are a unique take on the ditto dual character concept. Olimar is a interesting spin on the character with followers take.
K. Rool is the classic smash case of a 2D side-scrolling platformer character just fitting in and transferring easily and simply to smash, much like Peach, Bowser, DK, Diddy, Samus, ZSS, Yoshi, Kirby, Meta Knight, Dedede, Mr. G&W, Pit, Wario, and Sonic did before him. Oh, and Mega Man, too. Some of these rank among the best smash playable characters ever, and almost all of these characters have movesets and playstyles that write themselves, much like K. Rool.
You don't understand the possibilities of most of the surprise characters I support.
Just coming in and saying that to someone you don't even know is silly. You don't know my track record. Quite frankly if you did, you wouldn't have said this.
From my time on here, it's seems like there is next to nothing to consider him likely. And he is riding solely on fanbase, which has failed multiple characters in the past.
Apparently Diddy Kong being playable in Brawl and Smash For doesn't count.
(if you knew smash speculation, you know that is where this all support started)
K. Rool isn't "riding on his fanbase" at all. He is riding on his unique properties, the fact he's a heavyweight in a light character heavy game (seriously, Link weighs maybe 150 lbs and he's a heavyweight; Charizard weighs not a lot over 100 lbs and its' a heavyweight), his unique abilities and talents, his massive popularity, and his series being massively popular. DKC one of the most recognizable brands in gaming and a franchise Nintendo is leaning more and more on (especially with Zelda series games' sales free falling). DKC is a staple of Nintendo, and K. Rool is a large part of that.
Hate me for saying this, or prove me wrong peacefully with actual reasoning.
You didn't prove anything in this thread. All you said was "no, you're wrong" with absolutely zero evidence based on anything logically or anything clearly described.
