Well, they've already been taking over cinemas worldwide in box office-shattering masterpiece classics like...

Godzilla varies between films, though. He's not entirely good.
True but he's usually a good guy or an anti-hero in most of his films, always fighting other monsters to stop aliens and such from destroying japan, that's his job lol.

Unrelated, but wasn't this supposed to be a Yoshi game?
Yes it was, the developer worked on the original Star Fox and other Nintendo games, but Nintendo rejected the game concept outright. This led them to go on and instead make their own IP for the PS1. Though despite good sales for the first Croc, they closed down soon after Croc 2. No apparently they went on a while.

I always enjoyed the first game as a kid, second was a huge departure, shame it didn't sell well. Actually the final boss of Croc is quite similar to Rare's villains. There's also a boxing boss in the game that is much like the King K. Rool boss in DK64.

He started out as a force of destruction representing the horrors of the atomic bomb.

...And are we really starting a Godzilla debate on a Smash forum?

Pretty much, the only real times where he was turned into a good guy were the films that landed in that weird end to the showa era of godzilla movies in the late 60's and 70's. In almost all the others he was a menace and threat to mankind (not evil, just a force of nature really), i actually prefer the monster opposed to the hero version (84-89 being my favorite version).

Those croc noises for K. Rool kind of sound like King K. Rool is emptying his bowels at points.

Ooh, Kremling Krap! I'm genius!

Speaking of Kirkhope, is there any chance of getting Kirkhope to do DK again? Or has that bridge been burned? I will admit, I don't hate new DK's voice as much as most people do, but doesn't compare Grant's, whom always expanded my dong.

If I remember correctly, after Dk 64, they just kept reusing Grant's voice without him actually doing the voice for them.

Anyways, when you guys envision K. Rool fighting, and he so happens to reference a certain move from one of his Personas, do you think he will change costume on the spot to perform that move? Or will his alternate persona's be relegated to only alternate costumes?

Grant in pretty much any situation gets me playing some Dong Country. At the very least, we know Kirkhope would likely be willing. He seems like the coolest guy in the world.

Dong Country.
:troll:

Anyways, another question: how disappointed will you be if BURPHONK sound doesn't make it in in some way? Despite how unlikely it is to end up in the game, I'd honestly be pretty damn disappointed.

Oh my...if we are fortunate enough to get something akin to that, there had better not be any whining about "Ohhhh, K. Rool should've used the voice from the games! He's so out-of-character! Filler complaint here!" Heck, the initial guttural roar in that video even has shades of "HONK" in it!
Sir, I have agreed with you many times on these boards, but not this time. I'm going to have to say your opinion is wrong. :ohwell:

You're saying you'd rather have THIS instead???

He sounds like Lord Farquaad or something there, not King K. Rool.

Honestly, I don't understand why people are adamant that characters have the exact same voices from their source material when there are far juicier targets as far as non-canon "Smash original" character elements go, like character movesets for starters.

I've never played any of the games where he sounds like that. His DK64 voice is goofy and menacing at the same time, which sums up K. Rool as a character rather well. I'm not saying just reuse his old sound files (though I wouldn't mind that), but give him a voice that represents who he is. Also, I'm pretty sure crocs use guttural noises to vibrate the water around them to let other crocs know they're ready to make the beast with two scaly backs. While playing K. Rool, I'd rather not imagine that chubby croc with a chubby ****.

Get used to it. It's probably what we're getting... ....:(
(I'd do agree with you. But I'm a realist... regrettably)

Am I the only one who sort of likes this voice?
Some of them sound sort of cool towards the end but they're mostly dull...
I like the whole guttural thing his actor does, though. I'd be down with more of that. Personally I'd like a hard arrogant "fat guy" voice with harsh snarls.
I mean K. Rool's a show-boater right? Always has been. I'd like that to come through. (It'd make an awesome taunt that's for sure!)

You know how some stages can change when certain characters are present? Like Toon Link... LEAVING IT TO ALFONZO :chuckle: on the train stage and the boxing arena looking differently when Little Mac... PUNCHES IN? :awesome:

It'd be cool if K. Rool's presence on the Gangplank Galleon would add a row of Kritter spectators in the background. They could cheer on their master and boo his competitors. Once in a while (more often when K. Rool's losing) the Kritter nearest to K. Rool could try to hand him a kannonball or a Klaptrap blaster or the like to help him out. This way you can have K. Rool's most iconic stage, whilst incorporating the spirit of the DK64 final battle, with the "nonexistent judges at ringside" and the match's "fair and unbiased manner!"

Edit: More ideas for the Kritters: running on stage to help K. Rool get up when he's on the ground (more comical than useful), a few Kritters running to the side of the stage and reaching out so K. Rool can grab on the the Kritter in front, when he's sent flying (acts as a ledge extension). Obviously these things wouldn't happen too often, or else it'd be too fair and unbiased to K. Rool.

I just had a (mildly) amusing thought that I'm sure would not go over so well (especially with you guys) if it actually happened.

What if....the next DKC advertised about DK going up against familiar reptilian forces.....only to find that it was referring to Koopas, since Bowser for whatever reason decided to take over DK Isle? :troll:

.....then K. Rool comes in and helps DK get rid of Bowser since only there can only be one reptilian king that will crush DK and his friends, and it will be him. :awesome:

(See, I turned it around to something good!)
