I always loved doing doubles.

I knew so much about the metagame in DPP, too bad I was handicapped because I insisted on having a pikachu on my team

Pika's still bad. Lol

Pretty much forced to have something setup for it and batonpass to it, or have pika run a subset or something lame. I don't know a ton about pokemon but that's what I gather from watching a bunch of vids lol :p

Also why are we talking about pokemon? This is SMASHboards :p

So is anyone coming to the PM/Melee tournament on oct.27? :bee:

I ammmm! Probably!

As long as Jake or Jer give me back one of my GC controllers , but even if not I'll still come for project M!

Also I think my pika set was

Naive
Light Ball
~200 Att / ~56 SpA / 252 Spe
- Volt Tackle
- Grass Knot
- Focus Punch
- Substitute

The goal was a late game glass cannon revenge KO type thing. I'd come in on something that I'm faster than and hope they switch, while I set up a substitute. Then just wreck anything with one of Focus Punch, Volt Tackle, or Grass Knot. And after that get KOed while desperately hoping for the 30% chance of static paralyzing them

I think this Pikachu was the flukiest ever non-RNG IV spread I got. There were like 4 31's or something. I think his HP was butts though...

Jake is definitely dropping Yoshi
Was there a recent date change? I remember the melee tournament being on a weekend I work (I alternate work and off weekends), while a brawl tournament was on a off weekend the week before or after. My bad...

If I get melee practice with people from Victoria, I may show up to the melee tournament. If I play no melee, I will not show up.

Nope. The MitH6 was just recently announced as Oct.27 to be the confirmed date. There have been no date changes.

Be sure to get in contact with MadJ, Terrorbird, DaZe, Liverymen, and Foshio to get some Melee practice then! :p

Oh well. I guess I'll have to wait longer than I initially thought.
There are always Smashfests though somebody needs to set a date and time!

And argh! My cheesecake is cracked at the top! I guess it's because I made it too smooth (it means more air gets trapped in my batter) and I didn't bake my cheesecake in a hot water bath :(

Kev, you made cheesecake? :bee: What flavour?

Hey Caiden you should PM me a bit more info about my team when you feel like it and get the chance. I liked the first look of it, btw, not sure if I said that yet.

I made Pumpkin cheesecake since it's Thanksgiving! The cream cheese was over a dollar cheaper than normal and I picked up some nutmeg and some fragrant cloves to add into the cake. Can't want to try it tomorrow<3 For those who don't know, I love baking and dessert.

I plan to buy and play Black 2 tomorrow :)

Not baking it in a water bath wouldn't make it crack, but the uneven cooking resulting from that might've forced you to bake it too long.

Maybe it was uneven baking... I really don't know what I did wrong but I made sure there weren't any sudden changes in temperature. I left the cake in the oven for an hour after baking but once I took it out, it cracked! Next time, it'll be perfect like most of my baking x_x

Blah I knew I shouldn't have made cheesecake... but the cream cheese was so cheap and the mascarpone wasn't :( It was my first time making a cheesecake. I had no idea the marble effect was so easy to pull off!

I made this red velvet cake (without the red) last week and my mom took it to work and got huge compliments<3 Cheesecake in comparison is way tougher.

Sigh at having an Asian kitchen :( I had to "mix" the cream cheese with a wooden spatula and I whisk with chopsticks, haha! (When I get a good job, I an definitely buying an expensive mixer!)

...and this is why I main Peach.

I was under the assumption that red velvet cake was just chocolate cake with red food colouring, or if you're gonna be legit about it, some red fruit extract or something (cherry?)

Hm I've only dabbled in Red Velvet recently after Mike told me to try some at a yoghurt store. I'd say it's almost the same as Chocolate but I put a lot of sour cream (not used in regular Chocolate) and less cocoa powder to give the Red Velvet its lighter and slightly more sour flavour.

I'm not a fan of food colouring so I avoid using it. I would use red food colouring bought at the store. You actually need a LOT of it. Maybe a few tablespoons (if not more) to change the colour of the batter from the dark brown (from the cocoa powder) to a vivid red.

I wouldn't call them the same. I definitely don't hold back on cocoa and sugar in regular chocolate. Depending on the price of mascarpone, I'll either use that or cream cheese for Red Velvet as well for frosting.

Also, have you even tried mixing cheesecake with just a wooden spatula? I have no shame in calling myself a ***** and using a mixer for it.

For those getting the new Pokemon game, I'd suggest getting it at Future Shop. I got a $10 store credit from them usable in November for buying Pokemon Black 2.

It seemed like more people bought White 2 but I may be wrong.
