Is there any work being done on stage hacking?

Ok, Crush, with your Peach stage...

I'd provide a snap, but I'm on the wrong computer, but here are a list of problems it has:

Floating windows where the model used to be - Need to be texture hacked out, and I can't do that because I suck at that.
Banzai Bill still acts as though the tower is still there.
Floating buttons.
Part of the model sticking out in an ugly fashion.

I told ya so... And honestly, I'm not entirely sure where to go from here. Like, the front of Peaches Castle covers up a good part of where the stage now is.

Sorry guys, but I have NO idea what those terms mean. I was just following Phoenix's directions.

crush, you can do both of those things fine with the new Battlefield ledges. Any problem you're having with ledge techniques is most likely from your execution. The stage change is glitch-free.

It would be awesome if these hacks could be burned onto discs and played in hacked wii's at tournaments. I really do feel like we run out of neutral stages in a bo 5. It would be cool to take the random elements out of the stages we already have too. Like no shy guys / randal. No wind on DL. Etc.

...So what's stopping you? I assure you that these stages work 100% fine on disks, having used them myself.

And thanks for sticking up for me their Phoenix. Depending on the circumstances, I should have the (terrible looking) Peach's Castle demo for you guys tomorrow. I just want to stress just how bad it looks, because it personally embarrasses me.

Whoa, this is melee sir :c since when are these things a problem. Beside we all took a vote and randal is part of the family. I do agree though green greens without the bombs and blocks is a good stage. It would also require old wiis that can be hacked as well. All and all its to far fetched to work the way you/I would want.

Do you jump with the up control stick or the x/y buttons? I get stuck under the stage trying to do ledgehop aerials with fox/falcon/marth but not falcon because of his higher jump.

I use Y. You can't hold forward if you drop too low from the edge, as you will get stuck under the stage. Try holding forward only after you're up against the wall.

If you execute the technique in a flawed way, then its your fault, not the stage. The edges are fine and you just need to work on how you do this technique (I've had no issues either)

The ledges are different therefore you can now get stuck under the stage very easily when trying to do a ledgehop Waveland or aerial. I performed the techniques the same exact way I did in melee and I repeatedly got stuck under the ledge

You realise that the way you do it may be slow, thus you dont normally get caught on a stage (because you cant on any normal-non modded stage thats currently legal) but now with this new ledge, you need to do it tightly.

The stage is not flawed, it just requires you to do it with more presicion, less time between when you let go of the edge and when you jump. Or you need to DI away from the stage before you jump to avoid getting caught under.

Either way I have no approached this issue because I do it tightly, the stage is not at fault here, just the way you normally execute your ledgehops

Well, there's a certain point in all stage files that this data is located, after the magnifier hex. This would be the time I'd link you to my site, but it has been taken down for the second time (my hosts don't like me uploading Melee stuff), so I'm sorry in that regard.

I'm concidering doing a blog, but that's really not my style. Anyone know of yet another good host?

Sorry, no can do. Due to the way in which the collisions are made, I just can't do that.

Are you adjusting values one by one over and over? D:

Not really. There's a pattern you need to follow depending on what you need, as different values have different formats. The only exception to the rule I can find is Fourside. I've had to resort to random guesses there, because the only thing I've been able to change successfully is how the cane moves.

Oh and uh DekuNut, what you wanna look for is 0D XX XX XX FF or 04 XX XX XX FF hex in one of the Fox files. I don't really fo character hacks, so don't quote me on that, but those are the values that change lighting in stages.

Glad you like them Zyx.

Anyone got any suggestions for what I can do with Birdo? I mean, there won't be any platforms there, and just having him float in midair will look pretty bad...

EDIT: What if I used the two vines? I just hope I don't end up pulling a Hanenbow. You know what I'm talking about...

Did you delete the flying carpet ?!
Did you increase the space in both sides ? (and in Yoshi's Island's left side ?)

Don't worry, the carpet is still there. Can't have everything on screen when you do a PrintScreen now can ya? I'll also keep the logs around, assuming I can move them to suit the now wider stage.

And yes, the left hand side of Yoshi's is increased. The original hack I had of Yoshi's also had increased blasts.

Anyway, what I currently need feedback on is whether the platform shown in the snapshot is wide enough. I dunno, personally I think it's too small, but then again...

Well, I definitely won't add 3 platforms, even if I could. Hm... I'll make it the average size of FD/My Greens.
