I know ur right puffster. But I started this and once I started something I want to finish it

But its pointless and its only causing drama. Why do we need to have a top 5 for Jigglypuffs seriously.

While I can understand your point, none of us are really that much different from one another in terms of skill.

For all the drama that this top 5 is making, its easier just to make people who want Jiggly advice to go to the Jigglypuff fourms and ask whoever is there thats on.

Besides, which place do you think a person seeking for Jiggly advice is going to go to first? The topic with the top 5 of every character, or the Jigglypuff boards?

While I preform well with Jigglypuff in tournaments, my advice would not be significantly better than Minks, Woodys, or Exggs advice.

The matter of the fact is, not a single Jigglypuff player has the best advice, we all have our own seperate strong points so even if you did make a top 5, you wouldn't be getting all the advice you'd need.

EDIT: Actually scratch that, Jenniferpuff would have the best advice.

Sometimes I wish I could have savestates in real life, then when I'd go to a tournament I could rewind whenever I lost the lead and do it over again until I won.

Then everyone would be surprised I won a major tournament with Jigglypuff and it would be amazing and yeah

It gives you an idea about who knows what in the hell they're doing. I mean, matchup advice in some cases wouldn't be based around a top 5, but with general advice, it'd be better to ask someone that actually performs well than someone that doesn't.

Top 5 gives you an idea of who performs well with that character. There are probably some out of that top 5 of course, but those top 5 are people that you can definitely ask "Hey... How do you perform so well with -character-" since they're good enough to be part of the top 5 with said character.

I wouldn't give people GW, Puff, Peach, or Olimar advice because I'm not that good with any of my characters and my advice may lead them in the wrong direction. I could, however, direct a GW main to Vinnie, Penta, or Alphicans (spelling on names lol) so that they could actually get decent advice.

Puff advice is easy. Spam bair, nair, and pound, and don't miss rest.

Seriously though, Disqo did like 20 puff dittos yesterday, and as I remember, never missed a rest, but used tons of em.

That advice isn't gonna make any player better, you have to give MU specific advice and help players over come and take advantage of certain situations.

I've been knowing puffster and woody for a long time now and I know what their qualities are, my qualities are etc. I would go to puffster for dair and rest advice for an example and ask woody for originality and mixups. I would ask Mink for match up knowledge and I'm more of a pound/grab guy blabla...

Tl;dr: newbies need to visit the puff boards for questions lol not the top 5 list.

I personally have no problem with the list. It's just nice to have a written idea of who's the best with each character.
It's also like a PR, you have a ladder to climb. You want to be ranked, so you get better. Like, I'd love to be top 5 Yoshi. I'm not near it, but I think I'd like the prestige, and because of that I try and get better with Yoshi. It helps.

So in a nutshell

There can't be a top 5 because of insufficient data.

Because lets face it, is there even an active solo Jigglypuff main that places well in tournaments?

I play well but I also use Diddy, Woody is really good with Jiggs too but he's not active ect.

See but if we look from doom's perspective, its about advice and Woody is still really good with puff regardless if he's active or not. So by his terms he should be on that list too.


It would be much easier just to give a list of everyone who plays puff instead of just the top 5.

Deelux(name search dodge) used to not be a top 5 IC. But he was still the most knowledgable IC, and one of the best to ask for advice. Just not the best performing with ICs.

He's good now though.

So as far as puff goes, I think number 1 is def Puffster.
2 is mink
3 kaptain.

I have no doubts of those three. The next two is the only issue.

I don't know how San does, but Zigstas good and disqos good.
I'd say, from my knowledge, 4 Zigsta and 5 Disqo.

This is bad imo because any jigglypuff user could come in and just give complete and total ****ty advice. The new person that visited the boards for advice could see that and think "Wow that is awesome!" and try to follow that advise to get better. See a problem?

I'm pretty sure metagame changing would also make it where you'd want to ask people who have recently been to tournaments and can tell what people are doing to react to situations now (implying that there are such changes. I don't really follow metagame too much lol)

Then there is the whole idea that boards in general are bad to go to for advice because of all of the trolls and things along those lines. (Or bad players trying to give advice)

The list also helps people irl. If someone were to ask me who to go to for GW advice irl, I can just say "Vinnie" off the top of my head because I know he's a good player. However, if I just say "Go to the GW boards", then that could be discouraging and it doesn't really give them an idea of what to do to seek help.

Regarding Players and Changes

1. US/Canada/Mexico only. Players that originate from other countries but reside in these areas currently are allowed to be on the list as long as they've participated in at least one NA + Mexico tournament in the past year.

2. Conditions for change reqeusts are as follows:

-Provide results (which means placement and wins / losses, all which can be found in a normal SWF tourney result thread; along with this, if character icons :brawl: :mariobrawl: etc. . . aren't included in the results posted, please refer to how much of which character(s) you or the person in question used
-Specifically highlight changes. Don't just say "so and so should be first." . . . Say who should move down or up or off as well in order to accommodate the change. This should be done in posts in this thread only. Do not send me PMs unless I've clearly ignored your requests (or am simply too blind to see them as sometimes happens)
-TRY to follow a trend. That means stay with the current topic and abide by my requests for more information, so that more changes can be made faster!

3. Criteria for moves up and down

I will explain all these in detail when I've got the time. The idea is that tourney results > pool matches with top # getting out > money matches 50+ dollars > pool matches where everyone makes it out > money matches below 50 dollars > (non-existant ranking: seriouslies >>>>>>>>>>>>> friendlies)...

Doubles results only count when no other person can attest to better singles results. They theoretically should not count at all. But they CAN be brought up.

I think that dapuffster falls in all 3.
Mink falls in all 3.
Kaptain falls in all 3

K prime doesn't fall in all 3, maybe skill/knowledge, but he said himself, not activity.

Zigsta falls in at least skill/activity. I'm sure knowledge too.

Disqo falls in at least skill/activity, not sure about knowledge.

I think the most important are

When people go to the thread, yeah it's for bragging rights too, but people want to know who is the most knowledgable. Who they can look up on youtube for good videos to watch.

IMO the most knowledgable for this character would be Me, Puffster and then Zigsta. He's knowledgeble with not only this character, but the game as a whole. And that's necessary when theorycrafting with a character like we use.

Disqo needs more MU exp. He gets great reads, and ne'er misses rest. (I typed never, but my phones hood and autocorrected to ne'er)

He's good. I'd like to see more DACUS from him though.

Nah I ain't worthy of no puff rankings yet. I don't know MUs unless it's specific punishes, and I don't have a lot of knowledge as far as frames and priorities, apart from her aerials and pound and stuff like that. Lol at the scrooging, I miscounted my jumps like a pro.
