(The Legend of Zelda) - The four Champions would work like ; down special would be used to swap between them. Their inclusion would be a good way to represent the Goron, Zora, Rito, and Geurdo races, as all of them are extremely important to the Zelda series (except maybe the Rito) and (not including and his bad moveset), none of them have been represented in Smash.

(Kirby) - Moveset could be inspired by the Spear, Parasol, and Beam abilities. He's also the fourth main character of the Kirby series; he should've been included since Smash 4, but better late than never.
6)

(The Legend of Zelda) - Skyward Sword incarnation. Also the only Zelda mainstay left (since

wouldn't work that well as a fighter). I'd honestly be perfectly happy if she just took 's moveset.
7)

(Bomberman) - I'm honestly surprised that he's only an assist trophy while characters like and are in.
8)

(Super Mario) - With

as an alt, of course. His moveset could be based on both his own game and the generic Toads of the Mario universe.
9)

(Chibi-Robo!) - Because I find the very idea of a robot that does housework beating characters like and to a pulp hilarious.
10)

(Kirby) - It was the antagonist of three major Kirby games and its legacy influenced a lot of the villains that came after it. And Smash is always in need of more villains.

(Golden Sun) - The GS series needs more love, and Isaac has a lot of moveset potential. Simple as that.

20 is a bit much, but i'll try. Also, i'm doing 3 echos just for fun.

1. Louie. Pikmin deserves another rep in the next couple years, and he's my current most wanted. Plus he'd be a villain for a series without one.
2. Shovel Knight. Would be an indie rep, and I love his game.
3. Bomberman
4. Bandana Waddle Dee. At this point, this dude is more iconic than Meta Knight and Dedede. No reason why he shouldn't be in.
5. Dixie Kong/Funky Kong/Cranky Kong. Even with K. Rool, DK still doesn't have enough representation. My personal favorite out of all of these is Cranky.
6. Galacta Knight. A reoccurring villain for a series that needs one.
7. Paper Mario. Seriously, why isn't he already....
8. King Boo. Do him to rep Luigi's Mansion. I like Luigi the way he is, but at the same time want more LM representation. Plus he'd be a cool and unique character
9. Plasm Wraith. Just cause I want more Pikmin reps :D.... Also he'd have a super unique gimmick.
10. Black Knight. I don't even play Fire Emblem, but I love this dude's design. And he's apparently a villain, sooo.......
11. Magolor. A personal favorite of mine, also a Kirby semi-villain.
12. Skull Kid. MM is super iconic and he's cool.
13. Chibi-Robo. Love the GC game, plus he's in a Nintendo ip who still gets games.
14. Toad. Same with Paper Mario.
15. Steve. He has one of the most iconic games ever created, plus it's really good too. Don't think Minecraft would work perfectly as a fighter, that's why he's 15.
16. Excitebiker. From one of my favorite NES games,
17. Impa. One of the only major reoccurring Zelda characters not in Smash. I would prefer the OoT design.

And the Echos:

1. Alph/Brittany/Charlie. All the 3 Captains would be an echo of Olimar. Each one would be a different alt costume.
2. Dark Meta Knight. More like a mirror fighter..... Would make sense as a Meta Knight echo.
3. Another F-ZERO rep. I only played the NES game, but people seem to want a new one. An from what I know, anyone could pretty much work as a falcon echo.

Honorable Mentions:
Pokemon Gen 1 rep. Because the designs of Gen 1 Pokemon>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Any other Pokemon designs.
Dark Matter Swordsman. A personal favorite.
Ashley. Because Wario has 1 character and Wario games are cool.
Kamek. The third Mario rep I listed, but he'd kinda represent the Yoshi side of Mario games.
A Sonic rep. The series needs another one. Should be Eggman, Tails, or Knuckles.
A Xenoblade rep. I have no idea who anyone in this game is, but XC2 did good and everyone is begging for another rep......

My 12th pick being the generic enemy Koopa Troopa is something I've just wanted to see (especially since Piranha Plant) because I really enjoy the concept of Squirtle and I could see him having a similar Side-Special but overall may have a very fun moveset as well. Plus, I think it'd be funny to have him be the living personification of the infamous blue-shell from the Mario-Kart games. Though I wouldn't want his moveset to be based off those games I think his Down-Special could be based off what the blue-shell does in some way. The hammers some Koopas throw could be part of his neutral special. I actually made an entire moveset for him but I digress, this is just me explaining why I put that choice there.

And yes, I have limited tastes… I found it hard to come up with 20 characters because of this.
