On a serious note, I've been contemplating about picking up Sheik as my main and using Snake as a strong secondary for tournaments.

I think I've finally decided.......

I'm going to prove to everyone that she is at least high-B tier material, and is viable so long as you have a secondary for G&W/IC's (both of which are arguable about being possible and such... IMO it just takes to much work, and... well Snake wrecks those two characters. :x.... so found my secondary... who is luckily my previous main)

I'll be spending the next month preparing my Sheik for the tournament scene, concreting little things into my memory (KO %'s for tipped usmash, who she can grab release combo, and other little nicknacks that I know for Snake, but in a new way)

Because the Sheik boards are often ******** (offense meant), I'll probably continue to stick with the Snake boards and still actively participate in his metagame and the community. (<3 my (yes my...) Snake boards)

/lawl if anyone takes this seriously beyond the "I'll be using Sheik in tourney very soon"

I was actually messing around with Sheik earlier today. I then realized that I'm terrible with fast falling, "combo" oriented characters, and went back to Puff.

I'll be using Zelda for a few matchups, but from my experience Sheik just has an easier time in most every matchup. I'll be using Zelda a bit vs IC's as well (since she fares far better) but I don't want to put more time into Zelda... :x I actually play Sheik a TON in Friendlies... and I used to main her, so I know a lot of the little details. Something I don't know for Zelda. Every match that my Sheik was doing poorly in, my Zelda would do worse. And Zelda gets wrecked worse by G&W.

But I'd say that half of your 'majority of smashers' that suck at reading are more bad on reactions. Such as myself. Today, I've played Melee with my friend's big bro... He played Falco and I could easily see what he was about to do. But he still beat me because my reaction timing isn't really good. I'd still win half of the matches, but that was because of reading.

Again... Sheik isn't that bad... she may need a secondary for G&W/IC's (so she's not solo viable unless you happen to have a lack of G&W's/IC's in the area) but then again... pretty much everyone below S tier needs a secondary to be viable....

Then again, this is coming from someone who also thinks Ganon should be a LITTLE bit higher then where he currently is..... partly based on having a 53 win streak against three of my friends (who place moderately well at tournaments. Not near the end, but not really top8 either. :x....)

I may very well pull a Sethlon if I don't place with Sheik... I actually enjoy winning locals with Snake.

Well I think you should avoid using Sheik at huge tournaments unless you're extremely confident and adept at playing to her strengths.

People have off days.....

My Snake's been wrecked at a few tourneys that I should have done well at. Most recent example was at Geeks 2

I also lost a game to DSF due to epic failure (both last stock at 0%, I went to 109% in less then 2 seconds due to my own doing and missed techs)

I then got wrrrecckkkkeeeddd by Richbrown (lost both games by 2 stocks) due to complete failure on all levels. Poor reading, missed b-reverses, poor DI, was over-confidant due to how well I did against DSF, failing thoughts on basing matchup based off our friendlies... ugh.. /johns

People have bad days.

Didn't Armada place 17th at Genesis using Sheik? And watching his videos I saw him miss out on a lot of opportunities due to his playstyle. There was a bit more he could have done in certain situations that he just didn't do... but I also learned quite a bit from him...his playstyle taught me a lot as well. And he is an amazing player. I think me and him should chat and just completely break Sheik. XD
