We're simply a small minority that cares enough to protect the sanctity, safety, and quality of the boards that we cherish so dearly.
First of all, the rules here aren't stringently enforced, which is a good thing. A lot of people here don't have to think twice about being overtly conscious that their posts are going to get warned or have the possibility of getting banned. This is a major problem with another forum board I frequent where everyone is too scared to post anything on the board.
Second of all, I don't have a problem with people enforcing the rules. I have a problem when these people break their own rules that they've been smacking on other people. It's unrealistic to assume that people won't break the rules. Simply because you haven't received an infraction doesn't mean that you're absolved from not stepping across the line.

Blogs can be written on nearly any topic, save those that deal with SWF policy or anything that breaks the TOS. If you really think this blog is "spam", then simply do not post; doing so brings the blog to the top of the forum.
Finally, even though I don't believe in warning other people, I do believe that people should be told that what they did was wrong. The whole point of a forum community is to openly convey your feelings. Snitching to a moderator leaves wounds to fester. It seems like the reporter is more interested in administering punishment rather than giving a rats ***.
Again I'm not saying that this is true of SWF. I'm speaking from a more holistic perspective as I go on a number of forum boards other than SWF and have gotten to the point where there are a number of things I find disagreeable, yet understand that it's better to have an open community then one that is silent and afraid of authority.
I never knew of anyone who followed the TOS rulebook. Most of the moderators I've encountered find posts that they think, "okay this has to be wrong" and then go to the TOS in order to check if they are right. Like this forum board, the TOS is often vague and open to interpretation in order to give authoritative leeway to moderators so they can act on their personal judgment. It is reasonable in the sense that certain users tend to be aggravating in how they abuse sarcasm and feign ignorance in order to avoid receiving an infraction. But the rules are in no way or form an objective clause that can be said to be completely unbiased.
I think this forum is great. I just personally don't agree with moderator snitching and I don't understand the purpose of this thread besides to troll the general community under the false pretense of following the rules. After all, no one is going to list specifics of which post they actually warned because that seems to be rude. If this is true and you feel this way, then it's just as rude to generalize it to the public. If you're going to remain anonymous then keep it that way. If you want to notify us, then the users who you warned are probably the first people you should be having a conversation with rather than making this general pitch that really has questionable motives.
