I never liked Pokemon

Never liked Pokemon, still don't like Pokemon, probably never will like Pokemon.

When I was younger, my brother collected Pokemon cards. I tried to get into it, but honestly never cared for it and only tried because everyone did it at recess. Every day in elementary school there was always a huge group of people trading/playing/staring at Pokemon cards. I never understood it. I just wanted to play some god**** four-square.

What I definitely don't understand is how Pokemon is still almost just as popular now that I'm a senior in high school. The thing everyone played in elementary school recess... is still just as popular. Personally, I'm tired of it. There's only so many years of "MY GOLDEN PIKACHU JUST GAINED 2 BADGE WATER CANON BLAST LEVELS WOOASDOAWEOO!" that I can take.

And now there's a random rampage of Pokemon blogs. Dammit, I'm sick of it. Pokemon is not interesting. Pokemon sucks, and you probably suck a little more for liking it.

Yes, I'm waging a war on Pokemon.
That means don't take the personal attacks seriously
Yeah.

I've never really been all that fond of pogeymanz either.

Especially that Shellder fellow.

**** him.

i too am baffled by how popular pokemon is these days.
i thought people would get tired of it after the 2nd generation, like i did. and the vast majority of my environment did.
years later, i hear they added 100+ more pigeymans, and i'm like, lol.
electabuzz and magmar can evolve now. really?

I used to like pokemon when I was little and still played it about 6 months ago. Now it's got so boring for some reason, especially the competive play. Well there are over 400 pokemon now, but still you wont see more than a maximun of 40-50 species when playing competive (unless it's an low-tier team or the opponent is very original)

I never understood how people can't like Pokemon. But I mean, everyone's got there own personality and has different opinions on things. I personally love Pokemon, though. Ever since I was younger. Just grew up loving it.

1. LOL why do people always say this when you refute a bad point they make? Your OP was awfully serious you know.

2. Well judging by your OP, you don't really know all that much about Pokemon... seriously, give the latest games a try. ;) I agree though that some of the merchandising can be stupid.
Why are you suggesting the new games. Sans HGSS, 4th gen sucked. Suggest 1st or 2nd gen.

Poke'mon is here to stay, sorry people.

Just live with it, like the rest of the almost useless things in the world that people just happen to love.

Update:

A girl brought in a Pokedex (that's what it's called, right?) to class yesterday. Today, half the class brought their Pokemon cards. Someone asked me some Pokemon-related question, I told him "I never liked Pokemon."

We dueled to the death. I'm still here.

How can you hate Pokemon? It has the greatest plot elements of any game ever!

Take Red and Blue for example.

Red is forced to detour around the entire ****ing country because some jack*** has quarantined Saffron City and blocked off all access to it, effectively shutting down the biggest major crossroad of Kanto, simply because he's thirsty.

It is Red's responsibility as Pokemon Master to bring this man a nice refreshing drink, but little does he know, Kanto doesn't have any drinkable liquids anywhere in the entire region other than one place.

The top floor of the Celadon department store.

Will Red make it to the top floor? Will he free Saffron from the evil tyranny of the thirsty man? Will he figure out the conspiracy behind the hoarding of refreshments in the Celadon department store?

Find out next time... on POKEMON.

Always laughed when people thought, say, Zelda was better then Pokemon. Pokemon is infinitely more unique and everything that's tried to copy it has failed, and Pokemon still sticks out today while Zelda is just yet another part of the genre.

Competetive multiplayer RPG? Yes please.
Don't even bother mentioning MMOs, as that's just a test to see who's grinded the most.
If this isn't a troll post, I'm going to have to rage.

Pokemon is probably the number one most milked series by Nintendo.
And thus, it is garbage.

I dunt really like pokemon, either, and i hate a lot of them. Sadly in Smash, the characters i seem to have the easiest time playing as happen to be pokemon, except Pichu, and i picked him cuz i <4 emo rats. What i dunt understand (not to sound rude or anything, i respect others' opinions) is how someone can keep buying games that are pretty much exactly the same over and over, and keep playing it for years, and it never gets old. :S

I only still buy them because well, hell I don't know. I guess it's because I took about a 4 year break or so from Pokemon and jumping back in felt right around 4th generation.

Platinum is pretty much the only pokemon game I play anymore though. It kind of rendered all the ones before it pointless. Except HG/SS I guess. And the GBA games for the dual slot stuff.

Have you even played a Pokemon game? Every Gen mixes things up. The metagame is incredibly deep.

Please, four-square > Pokemon by a long shot. The four-square metagame is far more deep. Only scrubs who don't understand the advanced techniques (ghost, school bus, etc) would disagree.

I never would see an outdoor activity game and metagame be in the same sentences. ^_^;

Meh, I heard weirder stories, who ever say they don't like The Legend Of Zelda series at least. Not liking Pokemon is not a rarity ever since Digimon came out, (though looking at Digimon now, who would even know Digimon now days).

Lol

But seriously, Pokemon metagame > Four square. At more, AT MOST< there are 100 four square moves. There are over 500 (including forms, Zorua, and Zoroark) pokemon to use, and when you consiter the 6 party slots, that's a lot of party combinations. Tell me, what is the answer of 500 to the sixth?

What about Mario? I guess Mario Galaxy and 64 suck too because Nintendo milks the Mario franchise.
I personally loved Mario Galaxy AND 64! They were some amazing games in my opinion!

ANYWHO! Back to the topic at hand... LONG LIVE JIGGLYPUFF! >.>

Pokemon really doesn't require much thought or skill to play, let alone fifty times with the same game. ;)
I'll stick with Star Fox. At least they try something different.

Well, don't take this personally, but I don't think Pokemon is all that great. It's really overrated and over-hyped.

I played Heart Gold very recently, and it wasn't honestly that fun or new. I turned it on and in the first five minutes, I realized I was playing the same exact thing I had played over 12 years before, but with cleaner graphics.

The original Pokemon brought something new to the table, and it was okay having a sequel in the form of Gold, Silver, and Crystal...

But I really don't want to bother with the new trash that's being spewed out. ;)
They really should have stopped at Crystal.

Competitive Pokemon requires way more strategy and planning than Smash
Does Smash require any planning?
And as far as strategy goes, you can't compare the two. Strategy in Smash and strategy in any competitive card game are two completely different kinds of strategy.

You played a remake of an old game and you were surprised it wasn't new?

You... do realize we're speaking of the RPG video games, right? o_o

I thank Pokemon for who I am today. Without it, I probably wouldn't be tomboyish, and I'd be fussing over the things most girls my age do. Which I, looking at it from my current perspective, would despise. Thank you, neighbor boys, for introducing me to RBY while I was four. ._.
