I think Ocarina of Time is the only game ever that truly merited a perfect score.

Get it? It's the best game ever made. Yes, better than melee...
Maybe so, but I have more fun playing Melee.

Atonement was a critical success, but I thought it was boring as ****, despite how well-done the lighting, acting, soundtrack, and costume design was (the first half was intense, but it was all downhill from there and had a terrible ending and the main couple was pretty uninteresting). I also doubt any critics would give Old School a good rating, but I'd watch it over a ton of other movies that scored better.

Not to say I hate Ocarina of Time (it's probably my 3rd favorite game ever) but critics can't dictate your experience with a game/movie/anything at all.

wtf

I'm confused.

lol
Just don't apologize.

oh mannn. vagrant story a piece of crap?! i thought it was pretty bad ***. different weapons/ techs with those weapons/ magic/ combos and defensive reaction abilities/ combining weapons to make new ones.. the battle system had a lot to offer. it had great music, and extra things to do in new game plus. i hope you played through the whole thing before thinking it sucked edrees >.>
I got about 3/4 the way through. The storyline was good but the battles made me so mad, it took me like 20 minutes to kill each boss. And everytime I wanted to change a piece of equipment, it would take about 3 minutes of menus and loading. The idea wasn't bad but the technical aspects really made me lose patience =/

I was semi enjoying it until I got stuck. I'm in some cave and I CAN"T get out. My weapon for some odd reason started doing 1 damage, and I can't get passed these BATS, of all creatures. It's embarrassing. I can take down demons, goblins, ghosts, and all sorts of cool creatures, but these troublesome bats I can't pass. I just do one damage to them, I don't have access to temper my weapons (nor do I have materials right now) and they are just too strong for me, a bunch gang up on me at once. I just got stuck and couldn't get out of that area, no matter how many times I tried.

-I didn't really like the villian, he was just some normal guy. He wasn't that fun.
I was so bored with FF12 just because of its general atmosphere. It was worse than all of the other FF games I had ever played (7, 9, and 10).

Nah, I don't think so. Unless they had used Fox instead of Link in the game.

Then it would truly be the "perfect" adventure.
Was that a pun on the Fox Adventure video?

Yeah that's the one thing that keeps me personally from giving it a 10, is that the whole thing can get convoluted quickly. If you know what you're doing then it's easy but it takes a lot of experimentation. As for the bats, use the crossbow. Crossbow is strong against all flying things. I know you're probably not going to pick it up again randomly but just in case....

If you want to play an amazing PSX RPG you should all play Xenogears.

The best game ever is Tetris. Pick your incarnation (I prefer Tetris DS or NES non-Tengen).

well u can ofcourse say that the atmosphere or general story doesnt do a good job to attach u...and it didnt attach me either..
but i actually played through it and the story does pick up..but the the gameplay mechanics of that game that the scale of it all on the ps2 makes it an amazing game alone..even if u cant connect to the story..ff12 did save the series because they did change and final fantasy has been going downhill since 7

and brawl has a amazing soundtrack!!

Xenogears is one of my personal favorite games mainly because of it's complex storyline. With all it's philosophical, psychological and religious allusions, it was a total mind-job!

Edit: I personally liked FF12's storyline because it had somewhat of a "mature" atmosphere to it when compared to the other Final Fantasy's. I also don't think the series went downhill from FF7. FF8 was good and so was FF9. I also liked FF10 as well but not as much as the others. Still, I think they were all good games with really good stories IMO.

So um, for UCSD Ballroom, we were just getting out of Festizzio's car and this bird flies like right next to us. So I turned to Mike and I was like, "Dude that bird was flying so low... wtf man that's like the lowest I've ever seen a bird," and Mike was like, "Yeah it was flying pretty low," and then Waffle comes out of nowhere and he's like, "No.. haven't you ever seen a bird on the ground?"

The statement was so profound yet so simple. From then on, I have always had only the utmost respect for ResidentWaffle.
Thank you.

Lets look back on this thread and it's great moments:

Personally I just love Melee to death, it's just a classic to me. Thus far Brawl hasn't proven itself to me so I can't say it's great until it does.
camping on corneria?
sounds like melee to me

in all seriousness, i understand missing melee, but the community isn't suddenly gone because of the switch to brawl. is it more shallow then melee? I think so. but i'm having fun with it right now and we'll see how it goes.
Now i understand that people are going to come in here bashing me, saying that if i dont like brawl then don't play.

Well **** you, you guys are dumb and for the majority of people that are going to come in and say that, i'm pretty sure you were terrible at Melee, or didn't have the love of the game that most of the people that miss it do because you "started late" or didn't know your "matchups," so please leave your bull**** out of this thread.
Credit me, you ****.

Melee can't die.

I won't let it.
Mike, I hear you. I have the same love and miss of melee back in its prime.

I miss being unable to recover vs Ka Master, because having perfect ledgeguarding was actually possible/did something.

I miss getting 0-deathed by Silent Wolf, only to gimp him the next stock with a shine, because both things were possible.

I miss being able to handily beat noobs in tournament, because having immense dexterity and precision was worth something.

I miss winning decent amounts of money from being good at melee, cuz I suck at brawl aka am not good with snake.

I miss shine bairs with fox, and having people jock my nutz for them.

I miss uair fsmash with mario.

I miss Mike HAZE's mom.

I miss having something fun to travel far for.

I miss people relying on physicaly playing eachother instead of ****ty wifi. Our community is going to gradually become as ******** as the halo community.

Wifi is going to ruin us. I can just imagine in a year or so...

The best player in the world at brawl is sleeping on his couch, and wakes up on saturday morning. "Ahhh, tournament day." He wakes up, having the wii already on from playing wifi last night, cuz smashfests are now worthless because everyone has become antisocial and ********. He then connects to wifi and does the tournament without moving, or talking to anyone. Wins nothing because there arent good prizes for brawl ever.

Tournaments are "evolving" into antisocial garbage, and I really hope in-person tournaments remain the main medium of competition for our beloved community.

Note that the above guy is probably some really fat 40 year old man.
Seriously, and thats just from page one out of like 11. Reread the thread everyone, and gg.

I'm still going to Brawl tournaments to see everyone! I <3 the Smash community!
I miss Melee Falco =/

I love this thread.
And dude, don't give up against Snake! You'll find the weaknesses. If you could beat Sheiks with Bowser in Melee, than you most certaintly can find one character out of 30 something Brawl that beats Snakes.

Go to hollywood and make a film about Smash Brothers. :bee:
Your Ike sucks.
Do you even realize what you said? Matchup knowledge? Yeah, I'm SURE I know more about Sheik v Bowser than Gimpy. Wtf? I know nothing about it, but you don't need to know anything about it. All you do is stop overthinking it and ****. Bowser's helpless.
i'm liking this last page.

**** BRAWL.
Went to a Brawl tournament yesterday.

I appreciated Brawl a lot more after playing friendlies a bit and my few tournament matches. All the matches were pretty close and I had to keep my focus, otherwise I would lose my lead or fall behind even more. I guess I learned a lot and found that the game has a lot more depth to it than I thought. Then I played Melee.

Brawl is garbage.
THAT'S RIGHT! Melee is not dead! What the f**k did I say? Everyone is slowly going to come back to Melee! I'm so f***ing happy!:)
read for yourself, there's plenty more xD
