Also, just to be the devil's advocate, intelligent discussion doesn't nessecarily solve problems. It may give people more insight which may inturn lead them to solve problems but, directly, simply talking about things doesn't solve problems.

I'll change my wording a bit. I think intelligent discussion definitely leads towards making good decisions (for solving problems and such). A discussion may turn out bad, but that would be due to the discussers themselves.
I think spreading insight and giving different viewpoints always helps towards making a good decision. A discussion may go wrong and spread bad insight, right? But bad insight would mean that some of those discussers would have biased/wrong ideas. Such a discussion wouldn't be intelligent.

Susa: This is how I see it: 4 people wanted to solve the problem of how to take over the world. Alone, their individual ideas would be horrible plans for world domination. However, they have a discussion that goes very well and they succeed. Thus, they had an intelligent discussion and shared ideas that contributed towards solving their problem.

Aside from that, I think intelligent people are able to make good decisions that will better their lives.

It wasn't really Falcon that started the argument. It was rehab, who decided to call all nihilists out by saying they weren't really nihilists. And Falcon always comes off strong, so it's not entirely unusual.
