For three years, my family and I lived in California. We still had possession over our duplex in Massachusetts, and rented it out to two sets of tenants. During this time, said tenants let our property go to waste. Vines and weeds grew up to the second story of our house, the grass was nearly a foot high off the ground, the pool filtration system was unsalvagable because they neglected to protect it against winter weather... On top of this, neither side was paying rent for extended periods of time.
So, we evicted them, and sued the second set of tenants for damages. We won, and we had a $7,000 dollar court judgment against them for not paying rent for seven months and destroying our property.
This was in June of last year, and now it's coming back to haunt me.
My dad made a massive mistake when handling their security deposit. Not only did he store it in an out-of-state account, he also neglected to mark the account as being used for the deposit. Both of these are against Massachusetts law. Did he know? No. The tenants found out, and now they're suing us for $17,000 dollars.
Will they win?
Probably.
Should they?
Hell no.
Motivation?
They want to send their kids to college.
Send.
Their.
Kids.
To.
COLLEGE.
At the expense of my family's livelihood. NO. These ****ing deadbeat sons of *****es should ROT IN THE GROUND. Instead of pushing their kids to work hard for scholarships so they don't wind up like their ****ing parents, they decide to abuse the legal system to get what they want.
TOTAL.
****ING.
BULL****.
My mother's health has recently taken a turn for the worse. She's sick on and off, tired all the time, and now her kidneys are failing. She's the only one working in our house, and has been for the last six years. These mother****ers want us to pay $17,000 DOLLARS because THEY ****ed up. Now, my mother might not get the care she needs, and I might be short a parent before I turn 18. As a result, I could wind up out on the street.
HOW IS THIS FAIR?!
HOW?!
Is the human race so ****ing far gone that they can't see how unjust this is? Sure, my dad may have broken the law, but unlike these c***s, it was accidental.
Oh, best part:
THEY STILL HAVEN'T ****ING PAID US ANYTHING.
My faith in the human race is officially dead.
