Pools were ran well, maybe 1 or 2 hard pools but thats how it always is.

However the bracket was dirtier than a camels rectum. I got a bye then played Dojo who also got 1st in his pool. Before I played dojo i pointed that problem out and hylian was like "Duh, a lot of first seeds are playing first seeds". So i was like.....umm ok.

Ideally, all the first seeds should play the second seeds first round or first seeds get byes and second seeds play each other, but...okay.

Uhh if Hylian said that he's well aware that such stupidly defeats the point of pools. There was the same amount of first and second seeds. It should be E Z seeding.

About what Hylian said about Aniki wavedashing

Must of been barely then cause the vids i saw was little to none, which still proves link doesnt need to wavedash

matter of fact it even says in one of his youtube descriptions "Aniki is one of the few pros that doesnt wavedash"

maybe he started to but there was a time where he didnt.

There was like one very hard pool and a few easy ones, but there was almost no complaining about the pools themselves. We even made sure people from different cities (besides Houston) didn't have to play each other in pools as best as possible.
Which pool was the very hard pool? If it's the one that me and you were in then I'ma be sad. (Though I suppose my pool was harder for me than the rest of the people in it since I was an easy win to them).

I didn't say that at all. I said "Duh, a lot of first seeds got byes"

Because you know when it's not an perfect bracket lots of people get byes. There are too many byes to spread them out between first AND seconds seeds. So if ozz and dojo both got byes its 2 1st seed playing in seconds round which SHOULD happen with only 2 seeds.

Only having 2 people get out of pools defeats the purpose of having pools seed which I have said forever. You need to have 3/4 get out for proper seeding.

Oh, and I checked over the brackets before and I had the hardest one. Didn't change myself haha.

And you trust the random youtube comments over someone who has been in the competitive scene since 2003? Hell people used to say Ken didn't wavedash even though he did..a lot. People honestly just don't know what they are talking about. And just because someone doesn't do something doesn't mean it isn't useful. Wavedashing is essential.

Shhhhhhhhhh. You weren't suppose to tell everyone. Now nobody is going to enter teams.

If we don't get first I'm going to cry
rofl, people are still entering against the unstoppable Inui/Mew2King combo this weekend and they did at WHOBO 1 too :bee:

I'm...pretty sure we can take 1st. Let's just watch out for people like Razer, Lee, Dojo, and the other really good players showing up for this. We will form perfect strategies together, since we are doubles geniuses! Or something along those lines. It should be both fun and challenging.

EDIT: Also, it's only low tier doubles?

Yeah I was thinking the same, however it also is kind of demoralizing and especially sad when people's names don't get mentioned in shoutouts because they weren't put in results for not getting out of pools.

I felt that way in WHOBO in my first tournament, I remember. haha

I suggest you step your game up! It's a darn shame if you can't make it out of pools!

You'll be stuck playin' the blues...

Lawl I got 13th and made it out of pools HOBO 17, but that was my 5th? tournament.. I'm talking about my 1st tournament WHOBO and my experience there about not getting out of pools.

It is indeed demoralizing.
