I started playing with people from Houston in late September or early October '08. This was my either third or fourth tournament because one of them was an 8 man bracket <_< so I don't really count that on as a tournament xD

Hey I might be coming to the next HOBO. If there's a chance for melee doubles we should team, we did pretty well last time. I'll trust your Marth if we fight double foxes this time.

EDIT: Alan, is there a list of confirmed events for HOBO 18 outside of Brawl? The first post wasn't very descriptive in that aspect.

LOLOLOL you didn't see my other post lol I think I am quitting Marth since he has soo much trouble against Fox and Falco especially the ones that like to run =/ I may just go Falco Fox Falcon. Possibly Marth and Jiggs in teams though lol

And yeah I need to practice more. Since Allan is keeping melee in the scene like the cool guy that he is then I will now have more motivation to play lol Like my inspiration to keep playing this game was nearly dead since Allan like did a dam good job of killing it. But now that it is back ^_^ it's on

De angelo chose to NOT support me since doing a HOBO at planet Zero. It will be just brawl and melee(if the players bring the set-ups)

If you don't know, then you probably best not worry about it. The PZ drama is old news on SRK and Dustloop. PZ can no longer post tournaments on those forums. Good thing they have their own lol (www.mashharder.com).

Anyways, I will probably still show up if I'm caught up on homework. Does PZ have a card system or a day pass or any bonus or something if I enter the tournament? I don't wanna spend a dollar a game on SF4....

Whoever ran the pools/bracket at HOBO 17 was on some serious substances. I got 1st in my pool, and I just looked at the person who got 2nd in my pool, and he had a MUCH easier bracket than me, even with me having a bye. Maybe people should start aiming for 2nd spot in pools instead of 1st? Oh well it all doesn't matter to me now. /rant

Ozz, Pools were run by RT and myself, bracket by Allan (and checked over by Hylian I think). The problem you described sounds like Allan did not seed according to pool placement (actually I heard two 1st seeds had to play each other in bracket first round) but of this I am unsure. You'd have to ask him.

There was like one very hard pool and a few easy ones, but there was almost no complaining about the pools themselves. We even made sure people from different cities (besides Houston) didn't have to play each other in pools as best as possible.

Houston got lowest priority on having to play other people from Houston, sorry. I put you in there specifically because I knew I could apologize to you and no offense but you are "pool padding."

I also placed myself in one of the harder pools (Bwett and Duffman were in my pool) so no johns.
