RT, its cool man. Tesh has very radical views on a lot of things. People have wanted Ridley in every smash game after ssb64 and it hasn't happened. It wont happen in smash 4 either.

He doesn't understand that it makes far more sense to increase a char size than to shrink them. There have been countless article over the 3000000 years Mario has been around talking about Bowsers size (miyamoto speaks on this). HE IS NOT a MASSIVE GODZILLA character. Ridley has consistantly be shown/portrayed and spoken about as a DRAGON who is pretty ****ing huge. And since samus is over 6ft tall WITHOUT her suit (shes even bigger IN her suit) just think how big ridley actually is. It would look totally unrealistic (even for a smash game) to shrink ridley down to a "charizard or bowser" size character. it takes away from what ridley is. this cant be said about bowser because we already know he not some gargantuan beast.

also, this is pure OPINION but think about it for a sec. in a game where MARIO is fighting, who better character to fight from the mario universe than to fight bowser? it makes TOTAL sense right because they are the ultimate rivals. yes ridley and samus are rivals but ridley has pretty much always been portrayed as a mini boss or a "2nd to last boss." see my point?

1st off, you are arguing with picture evidence and telling me bowser is small. Do you even play Mario games?
Why the emphasis on "dragon"? How does that word being applied to Ridley (didnt know he was officially a dragon...) make him big? Dragons are fictitious creatures that come in all shapes and sizes. He starts off as a ****ing furby then turns into a crocodile, I'm pretty sure he is his own species of "dragon" independent of other dragon lore.

Samus is 6'3 and the suit barely adds anything to that (surprisingly). Mario is maybe 1.5 feet shorter than her. If you want some math based on this, if Mario is about 5ft tall, Bowser was originally 5ft tall, then about 8 feet tall, then at least 12 feet tall (SMW u dont get to see his entire body when you fight him). Then easily 20 feet tall in SM64 and even bigger in Galaxy. In sunshine, he is so massive, I can't even begin to take a guess at it. Obviously bigger than Kraid, so why even try to compare this to Ridley.

Ridley is about 15-20 feet tall (the high end being if he wasn't so hunched over), in most of his appearances. I'd say 7 feet tall in the original Metroid, and Samus sized in Melee's opening and in Metroid Prime Pinball (2/3 spinoff games he appeared in feature him the same size as Samus without looking strange at all). Meta Ridley's wingspan is obviously way too big (but the most realistic for what it would take to lift a "massive" "dragon"), but I'm not sure where we put this. Cyborg and robot versions of ridley are bigger, but they aren't actually ridley so... Anyway then in Brawl he goes from 18 feet tall(cinematic) to only about 12 feet tall during the gameplay (is this the same model?)

Bowser and Ridley are both pretty hunched over, so length would be worth measuring here as well as height. After all Ridley and Bowser have (at times), both been maybe only twice as tall as our heroes

2nd, Ridley pretty much is her ultimate rival. While he has only been the final boss once, he is the most recurring Metroid boss by far. Some games you even have to fight him multiple times. A good parallel is your rival in pokemon. He isn't the elite four or the toughest guy, but he is always there every step of your journey to challenge you. Ultimate rival =/= final boss. Surely we can all agree on that right? Bowser is the only villain in Mario that seems to even have a soul, let alone a personality.

for a matter of opinion, I think his Melee redesign was awesome (especially the way he looks on the trophy).

I BRING YOU MATH AND PICTURES AND STILL YOU DEFY ME!?

You really are a new gen dude.

You can throw any numbers/pictures/videos you want dude but the truth is everything we have been saying is closer to the truth (if not THE truth) than what you are saying. Because we are using knowledge gained from the smash games combined with the series games.

I said its more realistic to increase size than to decrease size, right?

Proof? Kirby/Olimar/Pikachu/Pichu. Obviously the devs felt it was ok to do this and we as fans accepted it. You NEVER hear complaints about these characters sizes.

I said its not too realistic to shrink a massive beast into a smaller character right?

Proof? There is not ONE smash character that is Godzilla size (aka overly huge) that has been shrunk in smash. Obviously the devs feel the same way or else we would have had a decent amount of gargantuan characters shrunk down.

EVERY TIME in SMASH or in the METROID series, Ridley has been consistently portrayed as a massive (20ft or more) flying dragon beast. He will not be in any smash ever. Hell, id put chances of the hunters that fought samus in MP:H or MP3 before the chances of Ridley being in the game.

SPOILERS: Gary IS the final boss in Pokémon Red/Blue.

Black and White sucked, but X&Y will be good. Give it a chance, if you don't like X&Y then give up after that, but this a fresh start at the series, don't knock it down just yet.

a fresh start would be new cities/new chars/new pokes/new story/new gameplay and NOTHING of old returning.

instead what do we get? 3 mewtwos? a 4th form for starters like charmander?

f that. you literally ruined the lore of pokemon that the original games set up.

He's just bitter because they have an ice cream Pokemon without realizing the older Pokemon games had questionable designs as well if going by today's standards.

Like the people raging over Doublade...but then they forget Dugtrio, Weezing, Magneton...true definition of blinded by nostalgia.

show me pokes form red/blue/silver/gold that come close to the IDIOCY of ice cream cones, chandeliers, bells, mirrors, washing machines.......ect.

pokemon use to be about ANIMAL-ish things. now, a ****ing pillow can be a pokemon. its ****ing stupid as ****.

I don't complain about pokes who are conjoined twins or whatever.

Voltorb -> Electrode: Took a Pokeball and put a face on it, evo turns it upside down. SO CREATIVE.
Grimer -> Muk: Purple blob of gunk, evo just makes it bigger. OMG SSS++ design!
Magnemite -> Magneton: What is this even? I sure hope it doesn't represent an animal like you claim...
Geodude -> Graveler -> Golem: A rock into a rock into a rock...WHO CARES?! Throw that in the trash where it belongs.

Your move, nostalgia nerd.

I feel like I'm one of the few that actually thoroughly enjoyed the hell out of Black and White. It was the first time since 2nd Gen that I felt like I was playing a genuinely new Pokemon game.

@RT: Ditto's pretty bad too. I thought he was an oil slick or some pudding Pokemon when I first played through R/B.

I totally forgot to mention Ditto..he's a pink blob. Someone just spilled some pink ink on some paper and drew a crude happy face...GOOD JOB, NEXT PLZ! Xyro, please tell me why Ditto is better designed than Vanillite?

Point is each gen had some awesome designs and derp designs.

You've grown up since Gen I, so perceptions have changed.

You are confused on what i am saying.

I am not complaining about how they are DRAWN or how they LOOK. I am complaining about what they ARE.

In pokemon Red/silver the pokes were more or less animal-ish or "natural" (considering its a videogame lol). Charmander=dinosaur, Squirtle=Turtle, Onix=rock snake and HootHoot=owl, Ledyba=lady bug.....ect. So far so good, its believable lore....for a videogame

You were told by Oak (pkmn red) and Elm (pkmn silver?) that there are a ton of pokes that are left to be discovered blah blah blah and ok sweet i can dig that. its believable lore.....for a videogame

Now you have ruby/pearl/blk/X (am i missing a gen? if so, add it in) where ICE CREAM CONES are pokemon. People have been eating these for decades and no one knew it was a pokemon? You dress in front of a mirror you bought at walmart and now all the sudden its a pokemon? You wash your crust filled poop stained undies in a washing machine and now all the sudden its a pokemon? The ****ing LIBERTY BELL is a pokemon? MOTHER ****ING LINK'S SWORD IS A ****ING POKEMON IN X/Y? Oh and you know, the genetically created Mewtwo that the scientists made in a test tube? Yea he hasnt be able to evolve in 5-6 gens but NOW ALL OF THE SUDDEN he evolves? And isn't there a GIRL version? **** YOU (not you rt, but the poke devs)! Why cant you create everything from scratch and stop making the current pokemon lore WORSE than it already is.

Yea the devs have literally licked every morsel from the the bottle of the barrel so hard that there is nothing left. So they now turn everyday products into pokemon. The "realism"/"believability" (yes, made up word) is 110% gone now. The pokemon world we once knew/dreamed about/wished were real is literally TRASHED (quite literally because there is a GARBAGE/TRASH pile pokemon). It has consistently gotten less and less "real" and less and less appealing because now literally ANYTHING can be a pokemon. Pillows, leaves, dog s h i t, shoe laces, car tires....ect. its a ****ing joke.

Oh please, your complaints can be applied to any long-standing game series.

Final Fantasy started out as a fantasy land of swords and magic. Now it has guns...GUNS...in a fantasy setting.

Resident Evil started out as a series about zombies being caused by a virus. Now we a fish virus and a virus that turns people in bugs. BUGS of all things.

As far as Mega Evolution, it will probably be explained in game. Believe it or not, there is a somewhat timeline that follows the gens of the games, so it makes sense that as time goes on, things get more advanced and more things are discovered. It's supposed to be parallel to the real world technological advancements.

And you still didn't answer my original point. You said:

What is natural about Magnemite? Voltorb? Jigglypuff? Abra? Lickitung? Hitmonlee/chan? Chansey? Mr. Mime? Jynx? Porygon? Hell, what animals (as you claimed) do they represent? Or they any better than an ice cream cone (represents cold) or garbage bag (represents pollution). You're mad about Honedge, but it's nowhere near as abstract as a pink ball of puff that puts things to sleep.

RE 5 and 6 sucked ass
FF 10-2, 11, 12, 13, 13-2, 13-3, 14 suck ass

This isn't Pokemon specific, i agree. And that is why i gave up on those series long ago.

My point was that there is **** like mirrors/ice cream/bells/chandeliers....ect are now pokemon. There is no ****ing way they JUST found this out (lore wise, i mean). See how corny that **** is?

And i though the time line stopped at re-silver (they are 3 years apart i think) and then picked up again in blk/blk 2 (another 3 years right?). im ok if all the games are connected loosely (it adds a sense of realism) but its getting down right ******** with god pokemon and fairy pokemon and ****. its just dumb.

Pokemon is POCKET MONSTERS right? Some are based off "animal-ish" (pidgeys/raticates/caterpies...ect) and some are "natural" occuring things like rocks/sludge/plants.....ect (onlix, grimer, oddish...ect) and some are just simply monsters (lickitung/chansey....ect). Sometimes you have **** like voltorb which can be a pokeball or magnemite which is pieces of metal mixed with magnets. If its just a few, i can maybe forgive it. But the new generations KEEP doing it and its now to the point FOOD products are pokemon. Again, im not mad about Honedge's name or drawing or whatever. I am upset that these devs are so desperate to make pokemon that they must use ITEMS to do it.

IMO both Xyro and RT have good points. As someone who's been playing through every series (haven't played Black 2 and White 2 yet, though I just finally bought Black 2 yesterday to play while I'm waiting on X and Y), I do like a lot of the changes, and I also think that mega-evolutions seem kinda cool too. While I don't think that bad designs of some of the current gen pokemon are any worse than the bad designs of some of the 1st and 2nd gen pokemon, I feel like there is a lack of pokemon with GREAT designs in the more recent gens. The older gens had a LOT of pokemon that just simply looked cool.

Gen 1: Charizard, Pikachu, Sandslash, Nidoking, Ninetales, Arcanine, Gengar, Marowak, Rhydon, Scyther, Gyarados, Eevee, Jolteon, Flareon, Vaporeon, Aerodactyle, Mewtwo, Mew, etc. all of those designs look really cool and make you want them on your team.
Gen 2: Feraligatr, Typhlosion, Espeon, Umbreon, Sneasel, Scizor, Houndoom, Entei, Raikou, Suicune, Tyranitar. Ok, not quite as many great ones as 1st gen, but there were less gen 2 pokemon so it's ok.
Gen 3: Sceptile, Blaziken, Aggron, Plusle, Minun, Zangoose, Absol, Salamence, Metagross, Rayquaza. Not bad either. Rayquaza seems less cool when you realize how small it actually is, but still not a bad gen, and a lot of very popular pokemon are from this gen.
Gen 4: Luxray, Buizel/Floatzel, Garchomp, Lucario, Weavile, Rhyperior, Electivire, Leafeon, Glaceon, Froslass, Gallade, Shaymin-Sky. The problem with this gen is that with a few exceptions, most of the pokemon with good designs either suck in competitive battling, or are evolutions of pokemon from previous gens. Yeah there were a few in the older gens like that too, but not quite as many.
Gen 5: Krookodile, Zoroark, Cinccino, Emolga... those are really the only 5th gen ones I like. I can throw in Scrafty and Meinshao since I know other people like them, though I really don't care for them, but this gen really seems to fall short on pokemon with great designs.

Yes I know this is all opinion, but a lot of people feel this way too. I think a part of it is because a lot of more recent pokemon have moved away from having human-like qualities, or qualities similar to popular animals. If you compare something like Rhydon to Gigalith, Rhydon looks more animal-like, while Gigalith really just kinda looks like a rock that can also move around. Even Golem still had a somewhat humanish head and hands and feet. And Emboar doesn't quite scream bad-ass the way Charizard, Typhlosion, Blaziken, and even Infernape do. And while you can argue that Serperior looks better than some of the previous grass starters, even Serperior doesn't compare to the older fire starters.

So yes, while I agree that every gen has some complete flops with designs, and I don't really see one gen has having worse designs on the low end of the scale, I definitely feel like the older gens had much better designs on the high ends.

And yet, at the same time, because of the fact that the each new gen still contains all of the older pokemon as well (even if you have to import from the previous games), I don't think of it as too bad either. Not to mention that for each new gen, the competitive battling scene changes drastically. A lot of the changes in the newer games are things that casuals will never really see, but that competitive players will. Things like the Dream World abilities in 5th gen giving certain old pokemon who used to suck like Venusaur and Espeon a new use in competitive battling.

So in my opinion, the older gens are better for casuals, while the newer gens are better for competitive players.

It makes sense for TL to be in because WWHD but at the same time the past 3 characters were released between the 9th-13 of each month. So yea in a way it was kinda unpredictable.

Whats next? The next first party game for wiiu is.........in November. What about 3ds? pkmn X/Y so i guess a pokemon will be announced in october?
