Jem
From the cartoon and toyline Jem and the Holograms. Jerrica Benton, a record company owner, securely uses hologram technology to become Jem, lesd singer of the band the Holograms. Almost like a scifi, decades earlier Hannah Montana.

Jem is a property Hasbro keep coming back to, there was a (failed) movie reboot and they often bring it back for comics or new toylines.

I think a music based character in a platform fighter could be extremely fun. She'd have singing based attacks, can create Holograms which her earings, could use her microphone for physical attacks, and more. We could also use some more female characters who aren't horses

It'd be funny. But in all seriousness, I feel Peppa has enough iconic imagery and hobbies to build a moveset out of - and if this were a real game she'd probably be the "wouldn't it be funny if..." fan pick so may as well get it out of the way.

Wario Wario Wario thinks including Peppa in the game would be funny. Character submission:

Resubmitting Matt Trakker (M.A.S.K.)

MASKmatt3.jpg~original.jpeg

From the hit Hasbro franchise M.A.S.K., he is the protagonist and leader of the Mobile Strike Armored Kommand. The 80s series was launched to help promote the merchandise line of toy vehicles and the liking. Matt can fight with his vehicles as well as his team. M.A.S.K. is a big part of the Hasbro multiverse as it has been mentioned in various Transformers TV series as well as Trakker appearing in G.I. Joe as well.

I feel we should have a rep from each of the older Hasbro toy lines as they are a part of Hasbro's history. Plus, there was going to be a Hasbro cinematic universe but that's not going to come to fruition most likely. Overall, a good retro pick to add to the roster.

Zoe Trent (Littlest Pet Shop)

Zoe is the main character from Littlest Pet Shop, she is a purple dog that have talents of singing and dancing. Littlest Pet Shop has a stage, but also it needing a fighter, and we needs more female fighters and non-pony characters

There's a ton of ideas I had for this - anywhere from the Crocodile Dentist, to a Cluedo rep, all the way to resubmitting someone like Murph. However, I suddenly remembered an iconic - and honestly pretty fitting - pick!

Character Name: Stretch Armstrong
Character Origin:
1976 (Kenner, later acquired by Hasbro)

I think Stretch Armstrong would be a pretty solid inclusion, all things considered. His abilities naturally work pretty well in a fighting game - his ability to be stretched out, tied up, and always come back to shape, feels pretty fitting - and his personality, being an All-American Superhero with that unmistakably 70s design would really give him some unique interactions with other heroes and villains alike! He's also in a unique situation where he's got some lasting appeal as well as plenty of nostalgia - but also has a modern presence, such as in his 2017 television show. And that's not even to mention plenty of unique design opportunities for his attacks and alts! (Stretch X-Ray springs to mind!)

Overall, I think he'd be a solid and pretty interesting inclusion with a particularly unique moveset compared to nearly any other candidate. And, well, let's just say he deserves a break after almost 50 years of fighting the villainous Vac-Man and his cohorts!

A very strong line-up of characters, honestly!
As usual, this will be a ranked vote; Vote your top 3! The top 2 winners will join the roster.

NEW JOBS
Job: Nominate a G.I. Joe Stage!
We've had stage rounds for My Little Pony, Power Rangers and WotC; Now it's G.I. Joe's turn!
So far, the only Joe related stage we have is the Statue of Liberty. Any other locale from G.I. Joe is on the table, and there's quite a handful to pick from, so don't hold back!

Movesets and Arcade Endings are open for any character!

Job: G.I. Joe Stage
ARASHIKAGE TEMPLE
The Arashikage is a sacred Ninja clan within the G.I. Joe universe, located in Japan (though with a worldwide network of warriors). It is the clan responsible for training both Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow, and it has plenty of unique imagery associated with it's architecture that is not seen anywhere else in G.I. Joe. The main temple was the central setting for the Snake Eyes movie and it's Japan location is a major recurring location, especially in association to Snake Eyes' character. A stage representing them definitely feels adequate.

The stage layout would be similar to the image seen above (though big enough for 4 fighters, of course); A smaller, flat stage, similar to the set-up of Suzaku Castle in Smash, in which the larger architecture can be seen in the background whilst the fight focuses on a hazardless platform with destructible environments; This encourages harsher, 1-on-1 fights based purely on the skill on the player, essentially being a competitive stage above all else; fitting for the Arashikage in which only the best Ninjas prove their mettle in their sacred training grounds.
---
For those looking for stage ideas for G.I. Joe, Cobra Island would be a great place to start, but there are also some iconic Joe toys that would make for great stages. wink wink

COBRA ISLAND

Much to my disappointment, this island is not shaped like a cobra. The headquarters of the terrorist organization COBRA, this island contains everything that a group of would-be world conquerors needs - poisonous jungles, an active volcano, and numerous underground hideaways.

The fight would take place on or around the airstrip, with the jungles and the volcano visible in the background. Various COBRA members would make cameo appearances, though they'd just be watching the fight. Occasionally, the volcano would erupt, showing the stage with lava.

G. I. Joe Stage:

The Defiant Space Shuttle Complex

01-Top-10-GIJoe-Vehicles-GIJoe-Defiant__scaled_600.jpg

Based off of the playset itself, you fight on the space shuttle and its base. Frequently, throughout the battle, the space shuttle will launch and that will dissapear as a platform. It is a walkoff stage. Watch out for the shuttle's engine thrusters as those will give you damage! Then, every so often, the shuttle will return. A simple, but fun stage based off of the playset itself.

DAY 32
This thread has officially been dazzled!
Captivated by the sensation of a certain popstar, Jem has been officially voted in as the next playable character in the Hasbro roster!
And when I say dazzled, I mean she absolutely rocked the vote with a whopping 27 points, winning by an absolute landslide. Truly outrageous, if I do say so myself!
In any case, congratulations to @Darkonedagger! I feel Jem was a necessity for a complete roster, especially to round out the trio of the 80's Sunbow shows (Transformers, G.I. Joe and Jem).

Moving on, in second place with 19 votes is a recurring fan-favorite in this thread, whose finally got his chance to shine: It's none other than...
Stretch Armstrong! Congratulations KneeOfJustice99 KneeOfJustice99 ! Also another major addition I wanted on board, which was clearly a shared sentiment.
Jem: 27
Stretch Armstrong: 19
Action Man: 14
Matt Trakker: 3
Zoe Trent: 3
Peppa Pig: 0
Leader-1: 0
There was quite a noticeable gap between 3rd place and the rest of the nominees, which is a bit surprising as I considered all of these to be strong candidates. Although, they were going up against clear favorites so perhaps I shouldn't be too shocked.

In any event, I think this a fantastic opening return to the thread. These two now bump up our roster total to 25, meaning only 10 characters are left! I hope you're all excited for the next few characters rounds; Of course, I know what they are but I'll never tell!
NEW VOTES
We ended up getting a couple more nominations than I anticipated for G.I. Joe stages! Once again, the unexpected popularity for this IP surprises me. With that said, we have 5 submissions this time around:
Unfortunately, the iconic U.S.S. Flagg didn't get submitted. Next time, baby.
Vote for your top 2 Joe stages, and the 2 with the most points will be added to the stage list! And of course your own can't be in first.

  2. Arashikage Temple
NEW JOBS
Alright, uh. I did not actually plan this through all the way, but we haven't done one of these jobs in a while so, once again, f*ck it.

Job: Nominate an Assist (No Transformers!)
Nominate a concept for an assist from any Hasbro IP that isn't Transformers! So far we only have a handful, so there are still plenty of ideas out there. Remember, these assists won't be playable in our base roster, so choose wisely!

Movesets and Arcade Endings are open for any Character!

CYKILL
Franchise: Go-Bots!

Cy-Kill triumphantly appears to wreak havoc on his opponent! Boasting about his magnificent presence, he stands there in total awe of himself!
Unfortunately, as he does, a stray laser from off screen flies in out of nowhere and hits Cy-Kill dead-on, blowing him up and killing him instantaneously, because Cy-Kill always dies! Fortunately, the explosion was large enough to catch the opponent in it, assuming they were within proximity!

Princess Frostine (Candy Land)

When used as an assist, she will follow the opponent around granting them an ice shield which grants the fighter she is assisting a buff in the defense stats. However, when the meter is full, she can freeze the opponents in ice with her magic wand. Quite a simple assist representing Candy Land (and my favorite Candy Land character).

Wherever good books are sold.
Assist: Officer Edgar Mallory (Monopoly)

Yes, he has an actual name.

Anyway, when summoned, Officer Mallory patrols the stage, keeping an eye out for any horseplay. If he catches an opponent using a strong attack or super in his sight, he will rush towards them after blowing his whistle. If he catches up to them, he'll put them in jail, leaving them immobile and open for punishment. If he successfully puts someone behind bars (or if he can't catch anyone within a certain timeframe), he leaves.

Mimic (DND)
This could probably also function as an item but it fits well here. A treasure chest will spawn, and fighters may attempt to open it. But instead it will come alive and will chase fighters, trying to eat them.

Ice Cream Soldier (GI Joe)

Pictured above is Ice Cream Soldier, a member of the Joes. Despite his name, he uses a flamethrower/rocket launcher, wears mostly orange and yellow, and has absolutely nothing to do with ice cream whatsoever. Upon being summoned, he fires his flamethrower, and if an opponent is hit by the flames, they're burned, gradually dealing damage over time.

(I wanted to go with someone who's so obscure that I wouldn't be ruling out anyone who people wanted to see playable, but so unusual that they'd still stand out)

DAY 33
Apologies for the lateness; I had to attend a staff meeting and then I watched Skinamarink in theatres! (It was okay.)

The votes for the Joe stages are in! I don't see a reason to drag this out too long, so getting right into it, the winners are...

Cobra Island
Arashikage Dojo/Temple
Congratulations to Megadoomer Megadoomer and I! And congratulations to Cobra Commander and Snake Eyes, whom both now have their own home stages!
Cobra Island: 10
Arashikage Dojo: 8
Terror-Drome: 5
Defiant Space Shuttle Complex: 1
Glad to have these two locations in as they're pretty big as far as Joe is concerned. Perhaps the Terror-Drome can still be included within the domain of Cobra Island, too!
But I digress. Moving on!
NEW VOTES
These are our assist nominees from yesterday's job! Honestly a really good line-up if I do say do myself.

I've thought about and have decided, just align with the schedule, we will only have 2 more assist jobs in the future, one of which is next week. Perhaps more if this type of job ends up really popular.

But nonetheless, for this reason, I am sticking with the Y/N voting system for this line up.
So, between all of these submission, simply vote yes or no on if they should be added or not.
For me it's a "Yes" to all of them!
NEW JOBS
Similar to Monday's job, we will be returning to a previous theme from earlier in the thread!
A theme centered around magical, adventurous worlds with wizards and monsters; gods and co-existing realities.
Yes, we are returning to Wizards of the Coast! The branch behind Magic, D&D and other famous tabletop games, and a major part of Hasbro's IP catalogue, for better or... for worse. But digression aside, this roster would not be complete without major representation of this branch, as this is a fight that calls for all warriors from Hasbro's universes. So, in essence, start re-opening those rulebooks and looking into the lore!
Job: Nominate a WotC Character
So far we only have Drizzt, Jace and the Avatar. I'd say we have room for more in this roster, so let's get looking!
Keep in mind these submissions can range from anything; While we have plenty of representation for the avatar characters, plenty of other ideas such as random enemies, major bosses and recurring canon characters between the franchises are welcome!

Movesets and Arcade Endings are open for all Characters!

I'll be resubmitting my nomination for Strahd Von Zarovich from the Villains round!

Job: Wizards of the Coast Character
STRAHD VON ZAROVICH
Hasbro's Dracula
Franchise: Dungeons & Dragons

In the world of Ravenloft, exists the Dark Domains of the dreaded Darklords. Sectioned off by enchanted mists, each border exists to entrap a Darklord within their domain, granting them no proper escape... until now, as the Hasbro universe verges on the brink of collapse.
In the Domain of Barovia, exists one Darklord who is feared by all. The cursed Strahd Von Zarovich; A man driven mad by love and life, he cursed himself to retain immortality. Killing his brother to activate the curse, Strahd was now an immortal man, walking the planes of Barovia; Unfortunately, the curse took it's proper toll. The love of his life committed suicide seeing how much of a monster Strahd has become; Upon doing the same, he was transformed into a Vampire, becoming the ultimate lifeform in a cold, lonely void of a town. But now, Strahd has a means of escape; Now, he seeks to inflict pain on suffering on all those who exists in the Hasbro multiverse, in the name of his love.

IMPACT OF STRAHD
Strahd is a hugely popular canonical D&D character, much like Drizzt is, but not in the same vein.
He was introduced in a module as a start to a new campaign setting: The Ravenloft campaign. In this first adventure module, Strahd (played by the Dungeon Master) was the central antagonist to the players; The plot centered around them traveling to Barovia (and by extension, Castle Ravenloft), and finding a woman named Ireena Kolyana, and then accomplishing either one of two goals; Escorting her out of Barovia to escape Strahd, or kill the Count himself using magical holy weapons and discovering his backstory. The entire module is essentially a long-winded battle between the Player Characters and Strahd, which is one of the first times a D&D campaign utilized canon in a dedicated module.

This module ended up being a smash hit, and starting an expansion to the entire Ravenloft campaign beyond just Strahd; but of course, he is the star character of Ravenloft, and you can bet he saw a lot of marketing and spikes in popularity as the campaign continued to blow up and receive multiple Strahd-centered sequels. Much like Drizzt, the Count also became the central character in a lot of ancillary media, including books and comics. In fact, he is the most recurring D&D Villain in the game's entire history, as he essentially has an entire campaign dedicated to him.*

*Speaking of dedication, there is also a subreddit dedicated to Strahd's campaign that is over 65K members. I find this to be really interesting, given that it's Reddit of all places.

The character has become the most popular D&D Canonical villain and his campaign module is still regarded as one of Ravenloft's best, especially in regards to it's customization, as Strahd has a series of motivations and ways to be defeated that are entirely dependent on how the campaign runs. It's a really interesting idea in of itself.

POWERS & ABILITIES
Of course, in the context of a fighting game, what's most important is that a character would simply be interesting as a fighter. And believe me, Strahd comes in spades with unique abilities.

Strahd's DnD class is listed as a Necromancer; This in itself is interesting, though Strahd is already very unconventional as far as D&D characters go by virtue of being a Vampire. Nonetheless, it's very unlikely any future D&D character will have the same class, canon or avatar, so this is something I would like to include. Now, with his class out of the way, his abilities include...
  • Necromancy: Given his class, this is obvious. He can summon an army of undead creatures, such as skeletons or vampires, at will; He himself is listed as a 16th Level Wizard in the Necromancy class, so he has a lot of range with this abilitiy.
  • Shapeshifting: Strahd can shapeshift into a Wolf, Bat, or simply just a cloud of Smoke. Pretty typical Vampire transformations, really!
  • Mind Manipulation: Strahd can mind control and take the body of his opponents, which itself was one of the presentable motivations in the original Ravenloft campaign. He can also trap them in a never-ending nightmare created by their own mind. Spooky.
  • Elemental Control: Strahd can control the local weather and terrain, which can manifest into a variety of different attacks, including lightning strikes, ice or fire blasts, forming stone walls at will, fog manipulation, and the whole nine yards.
  • Phasing: He can Phase through solid objects at will.
  • Telekinesis: Self-explanatory
  • Teleportation: Self-explanatory
  • Debuffs: Strahd can inflict multiple debuffs on the opposing party, through a variety of different attacks; This stat difference makes Strahd a
  • Ultra-Sensory Abilities: Strahd can sense where his opponent is at any given moment
Note that this is only about half of what he can do. The dude is absolutely armed to the teeth in terms of magic and is absolutely something I wanna tap into for a potential fighter.

REASONS FOR INCLUSION
I definitely feel like a playable D&D villain is in the cards, and Strahd is the most iconic one of them all. His range of abilities and his unique vampire status just make him stand-out from any other canon character in the catalogue, and this is an easy way to represent a campaign outside of the Forgotten Realms, which I think is desperately needed before we delve too dip into just the one setting and the catch-all content.
This could also easily mimic his playability from the original module itself, which was then controlled by the Dungeon Master; This is something very easily adaptable into a fighting game and can be taken advantage of.
I also just think, as far as villains go, Strahd can really represent a type of evil that some other villains possibly won't. His backstory is tragic but he is equally deranged and innately evil, and this is a type of villain I want to throw in as it's a nice balance of all the desire-able traits in a typical antagonist.
