while i understand how amazing it can be to have that much AP early in to the game you sacrifice the survivability or mana regen given by a tear or catalyst early game
and by the time you actually finish the deathcap it will probably be to late to build a RoA in time for it to get fully charged.

To some extent, survivability is a crutch. There is no reason to finish an RoA when sitting on Catalyst is provides more than enough HP. The best players have stopped relying on the crutches of things like too much HP, defensive mastery, or utility mastery even. Many of them just run 21 offense now on most characters.

Not to mention mana regen should be negligible since you can solve that with runes to not waste an item slot on a Tear before AP.

21 offense is pointless, utility and CdR is just too good to pass up.

i'm with dekar actually, the movespeed bonus, cdr, flash buff, longer buff duration, greed, increased xp... the utility tree has a lot to offer. plus, i thought someone said earlier that the final offense mastery only worked on base damage? i've been going 19 offense since i heard that... >_<

They pushed a server certificate that wasn't prepped to work with the Mac. So now to get the Mac patch out, they are going to have to do a server restart, which it probably unacceptable since there are probably like 1000 Mac users total in the Beta and it would mean disrupting service for everyone else. So apparently they are looking for a way to hack the Mac patch so that it mimics the PC client and can bypass the certificate problem... but seriously, wtf Riot.

7-5-28 Shen split pushing like a pro and saving you when you tower dive and get caught against the entire enemy team. That's how I do wut I do.

i srsly hate fighting Lux. They ALWAYS seem to get fed early. not by me of course. but that's probably only because I seem to have the good fortune of not laning against them.

I used to go Rylai into Zhonya on Vlad (tossing in a visage or a guise along the way.) but I hear both of the new items split from Zhonya are pretty ridiculous on him. And any caster for that matter.

Think of it this way-

holy ****ing **** does deathcap help every single AP character scale well.

(155 + 100 + 80 + 25 + 20 + 70)1.3 = 450x1.3 = 585 AP > 1170 hp
(155 + 100 + 80 + 25 + 180 + 70)1.3 = 610x1.3 = 793 AP > 1586 hp

Plus, those CdR boots are ridiculous. Oh my.

Deathcap, zhonyas, rylais, mejais, void staff. Build order should go-

boots + 3 pots
lucidity + mejais
giant's belt
deathcap
rylai's
void staff
zhonya's

Add runes into the mix and Vlad seems downright silly now.

Ok so... the new Udyr is a little bit ridiculous. Shreds towers like a boss and does the jungle faster than anyone. He's not as bulky anymore thanks to locket removal but dang can he hit hard now with Tiger.

Deathcap is even more ridic. Very gold efficient and packs a huge punch. Last night I was hitting Lux ults for like 800 damage every 30 seconds with Deathcap/AA and some CDR. Too bad she's still not good.
