she can work above that point, but people rush negatron and ward their lanes and it becomes harder to do much of anything

Its not so much countering her in lane as it is not feeding her early kills and having a decent amount of farm. A leblanc with no kills and a noticeable cs advantage is not as good as most aps without any kills and a moderate cs.

You can apply that to akali or any other assasins too.

What did the Sona do wrong? (I'm interested because I <3 Sona and I want to avoid mistakes any Sona can make)

From what I was watching, it appeared she pushed the lane and stayed infront of her carry the entire laning phase. Sona is <3 but when people get free kills off of her for dumb reasons it's suddenly </3.

Sona being in front of the ranged carry is generally the right thing. As her maxed out q hurts a lot and its easy modo harass.
And by 'infront' I mean like... just in front if necessary for auto attacks lol.

okay to do for the like first ~5 mins after that no generally not the right thing to do..
the jungler will hv speed/gap closer/cc/red over sona(especially if boots come after philo) and you will just die from that. if the jungler is somewhere else the duo lane has a good chance to kill you if you are in front

I didn't watch the vid, so I'm not sure how far in front of the ranged carry sona is... You'd hope that you would still be within range of your ranged carry's auto attack/abilities.

I don't think ganking at 2 with Mao is really a good idea...I could be wrong, but idk. He just seems like the type that would really want his full combo when ganking, so you'd be better off hitting 3 before making any attempts.

So I just read a guide that explains why I don't like ranged carries. To paraphrase, "You're like an AP Carry, but with a 1:1 AD ability with as low as a .4 second cooldown that scales with a stat AP carries can't use (crit)."

I like 'in your face' characters only. :/

I rarely trust people to play support properly, much less play a viable support. One of the scariest parts of playing a ranged AD carry.
