Well, the whole 'alternative support' thing has cropped up, it just isn't that viably sound considering how stupid Caitlyn and Graves are.
Like, those two characters would be fine,
if Sona, Soraka and Alistar couldn't keep them at full health a majority of the time.

Is it me or would things be so much funner if you weren't always forced to have a support and jungler?
In ranked? I love being last/second to last pick and being "forced" to support. 90% of the time you play against inexperienced supports and **** them in support picks/map control/lane presence if you're relatively good at it.

Helping people with last hitting/wave control, and being able to look at the map, use CV, tell people what's happening, and where they should probably go/avoid during the laning phase is a really good feeling.

edit: blitz is a ****ty support against the common heal lanes you see. Only bother using him against Janna, imo.
edit2: i read that totally wrong. you don't want supports at all? o.o

Hey Dan, you know how we were talking about "people finding the way to play pantheon"?

It somewhat dawned on me yesterday that Pantheon could take a page out of Sion's book and run mobility boots on the guy and primarily try to have him in mid (although IMO he loses to Anivia and Brand and likely beats every other typical AP caster mid). Getting from places quickly when your ult is no longer global is rescinded a bit, and just like Sion you have the single target ranged stun + reasonable mega burst.

IMO, lots of other potential caster-counter, mid-lane champs have either more single-target burst or comparable burst+CC + more late-game usefulness. Ex. Talon, Kass, Mao(?) (I've been meaning to try out Maokai more. I think he's potentially a really good caster-counter option :o)

Not to mention, I think early, aggressive zoning is waaaay overrated right now. Farmfest champs is where it's at.

P.S. veigar underrated atm.

edit: mobility boots #1 soloqueue stomper. sucks *** in arranged imo.

- Soraka + an AD will have a hard time denying an effective 2v1 champion. You guys have to consider when you do a 2v1 there is a 2v1 top and bot and becomes a matter of dying less/farming more than the opposite 2v1. This is generally not worth the risk as it can turn out very bad for you (see some TSM matches).
- You can't take CV as a top lane because you desperately need your summoners since top lane is susceptible to ganks the most. flash/exhaust/tp are generally a must. If you run ignite you have the idea that you will be able to kill your lane pretty easily in which case you aren't too worried about getting ganked
- Sona soraka alistar is not what makes cait or graves good...
- Mobility boots give you terrible team fight presence, should work out fine if you are loking to use it in solo queue but realize that his stun basically forces him to be in range of a lot of damage while sion's damage is ranged and has a shield to protect him

We all had wonderful childhoods and recognized Stitch immediately :)

And also, Sion can absolutely destroy a creepwave which frees him up to gank incredibly quickly.

Maokai is very solid middle from my experience w/ him, though some super early AP champs can give him trouble. He needs to be revisited, especially for poke comps. Also I think he can counter Sion.

Maokai only does good cause his Root is incredibly gay in nearly every aspect besides CD. Forcing Karthus or Sion out of lane with just little stump monglers isn't enough.

it was hilarious how they were trashtalking you in the beginning then tried to play it off like they just weren't trying
funniest part for me:
ashe: "we feel bad for malz, we're letting malz catch up"
*malz kills anivia*
malz: "trolololo"

it was even better because i know all the people on your team :D

So I've decided that one's ability to read, understand, and respond to words and phrases in champion select such as "Does anybody want anything?" and "I would like to counterpick their top lane. Please trade me," is directly proportional to how well one will do in a given match.

If you're one of those 1200 guys that think you're in elo hell, and you're not doing the above, this will go a long way in giving you free elo in soloqueue if you can respond to such attempts at organizing a good team.

Nobody ****s on karthus harder than mao.
Hmm...I haven't really found this to be the case. But do you mean in lane or like during endgame teamfights or what?

In lane I find that Urgot ****s on Karthus pretty hard.

I am extremely hesitant to trade anything in soloqueue because I can't depend on them having a good champion roster, or knowing how to play the champ they ask for.

You don't always need a support, really, though you need pretty specific teams in order to avoid that. For example, my roommate ran a Leona+Xin lane last night that absolutely dominated. As for junglers, it makes the game a whole lot more fun to have an unknown element (what fun is the game if you always know where people are aka no gank options) and it just makes sense for that guy to jungle.

I hate it when people don't do this :(
