i think here's where the problem lies. no matter what you do THEY ALREADY DISRESPECTED YOU. so what you must mean by "not letting them" is basically publicly declaring things so that everyone else won't think that you're what that person is saying you are.

here's an interesting fact: if you are secure enough in yourself that you AREN'T what that person is saying you are, you wouldn't have to defend yourself publicly because you would know it wasn't true and that would be enough for you.

but instead you just end up looking "butthurt" in a desperate attempt to improve your own image on a website for a video game.

hey, go ahead and disrespect me all you want. i have a lot of experience with it.


and i have enough self-respect to not give a ****.

What you said wasn't disrespectful, but it did glow in a tone of moral superiority that I needed to address.

Think about it like this: If you let someone slap you in the face, and you do nothing, then you let them disrespect you and they'll know they can do it again without repercussions. But if when they slap you, you slap them right back (or hit them with a baseball bat), you keep yourself from being disrespected and they'll know that that's not going to fly.

And despite what you think, I am more sure of who I am than I ever have been before and my responding here has little or nothing to do with other people's opinions, just that person.

And this is a classic cop out argument: when you trivialize any legitimate discussion/disagreement by over emphasizing that it's being held on a website. If I blantantly insulted you, it doesn't matter where or how I do it, it's still an insult.

Also, you end your post by retreating to your moral superior tone which makes it hard to take you seriously. You know I won't ever disrespect you like you like to do me.

nah, i was just referencing the fact that cam wasn't going to respond because he knows he's not a scrub *** homosexual ****** puff main luigi whatever bull crap i typed.

there's no point to responding, because even if i did actually think that he was that, he wouldn't care.

his lack of response proves his point.

Both sides have value, and generally, i usually use josh's method (addressing the problem rather than letting people say/assume whatever), but the more i'm involved in this scene, the less i care about what you all think of my personal life or my ganondorf.

see this is what I don't like. I don't like when people get holier than thou attitudes when they don't recieve the same kind of treatment you do.

Since no one seems to get this: Respect is a HUGE thing to me. Joke around all you want, but if you say or do something which offends me, I'm going to let you know. I've put a lot of work recently into refocusing my attitude and returning the favor for others.

Getting butthurt =/= not letting someone disrespect you

I was unaware that I was supposed to let people say disrespectful things to me and not respond. I'm fairly sure that if you or anybody got disagreed with on sheer principle as frequently as I do that you would call people out on it as well.

You ask for respect but you do **** like take Kevin's sleeping bag, and make it so he has no where to sleep and he has to make a 2 hour drive. I had to give him my bed so he could have a nice sleep. It was extremely disrespectful of you and selfish. I also believe I heard you joking about it in the morning, I won't tolerate such things, Kevin didn't deserve that. PLUR at least apologized and his was a misunderstanding, but you took his sleeping bag when we left to get food to help my Mom sleep, in my house when you weren't even allowed to be there but I did not want you possibly getting in anytime of car accident.

Darksyde, my post about your skin was only in reference to the teams criticism you received and your pp quote. Not a whole lot of back story involved. Other **** started after me, as far as I can tell. And while I maintain that your skin is lacking in thickness, I confess I thought you were quoting something else.

Your response of "I'm not as bad as I used to be" doesn't amount to anything. If Jeffrey Dahlmer pushes a guy down a flight of stairs, but then says "If you think that's bad, I used to kill people!" ... it was still a **** move.

There's no "winner" or "loser"... thinking that you're winning or losing doesn't help anyone. All it does is cause more problems for everyone around and everyone involved.
