I'm just tired of this hype cycle of smash building up to characters I couldn't care less about. I've been getting hyped and struck down since King K. Kinda hard to stay happy for the people who did get their character in when you are so used to being disppointed nothing you liked got in.
I couldn't be further in agreement. Though I like P5 and actually enjoy playing Pirahna Plant, (to my own surprise), I fear Joker may be as good as it gets for this pass. The tragedy of Geno being seemingly hated post November by the majority of the internet doesnt help. I've been depressed since November, and news of Erdrick/some nobody imo, has really stung. I thought Geno's only competition was Sora (whom I make no qualms about despising), then this character shows up who I'm so neutral about it's ridiculous. I was ready to accept something like Crono. But I feel since November we've entered some alternately terrible timeline and nothing has ever been the same.

Top that with the fact that all my friends dropped Ultimate after like 3 weeks, and the online sorta blows...and well, here I am. Drifting in a sea of despair ugh

Does anyone ever space out way too hard and wonder if you are really just a character in a really detailed and lore filled story? Because I do that more than I really should.
Sometimes i feel like im part of a weird simulation where im meant to be sacrificed to a new human beign to be reborn.

Thank you, I got all those on Christmas. There was one sticker on your laptop that caught my eye: Li'l Gideon! Wish they used him more in season 2 :(
I know right! Gravity Falls is the bomb. He was such a great villain in the first season. I know Bill was the primary antagonist, but I felt as though he could have been used as a much better secondary antagonist. Such an interesting character...

Yeah, but overall, amazing show! I would recommend Steven Universe to you if you haven't seen it yet, I think you'd enjoy it.

Let me just say that I love Steven Universe, as flawed as it may be and as controversial its fan base is. Funny enough, some of its ideas for Garnet (her personality, how levity is handled with her) and Pearl (her dedication to her 'authority', her disciplined nature, almost blindly attached to what she 'has' to do over what she 'wants' to do as she developed) are things that made me look at Geno like, "Hmm."

Dedication to his authority, disciplined and ready to blindly rush in to do what he must, whatever the cost, and leaving the party behind at the end of the game despite obviously not wanting to? Check.

Being rather dorky and humorous while still being a stable, sagely leader-type, kinda like Garnet? Check.

... It's a little silly how my love for Geno ended up mostly happening from the domino effect of headcanon, my creativity, and filling blanks with help of things I've seen in the past. Haha... Hopefully, my project will end up accurately showing just how much Geno has been expanded on in my mind.

I've actually seen all of it up til I think it was Legs From Here to Homeworld? I'm a bit behind on most of my shows heh...

I got all of mine on my laptop with the exception of the griffin from Redbubble.

I'm actually thinking of getting a few more tonight.
like, did you order the individual stickers or are there packs of them somewhere? I used to love stickers back in the day.

You can order them separately. All mine are from different artists. Here I'll link you the site.

Redbubble and Teepublic are also great places for you to splurge on video game notebooks if you're into that kind of thing. If you don't find something you specifically want, you can grab a fan art off the internet, mess with the size, and then sell the design yourself (privately so you don't make money off of another person's work).

Oh my goodness catch up. Catch up now lol. Season 5 ended, and oh my goodness so much amazing things happened I can't say anything you have to see it yourself. But let me just say that when I watched it for the first time, it didn't even feel real!

That's actually really interesting how you were able to connect those dots to Geno! And yeah, Steven Universe definitely has its flaws. In my opinion, the pacing is abysmal at times while at other times it seems like we're getting way too much info in such a short amount of time (the most recent batch of episodes, for example). But overall, the show has helped me grow a lot as a person in an emotional way, and I'm really thankful for that because you don't really see too many shows with a feminine male as the lead protagonist. I'm always blown away at how they are able to integrate LGBT themes and subtexts so cleverly into most episodes that you wouldn't even realize until you've taken a step back and looked at everything.

Where do you get all your stickers from? :O
All my stickers are also from Redbubble.

Gosh, I agree 100%, and the constant hiatuses really don't help when it comes to overarching pacing for the series, too. Pacing within each episode can be problematic, too, even if a bit more understandable due to the small time slot the show has. It's... hoooo-wee.

That said, the LGBT themes make me very happy, especially since they have purpose behind them and aren't shoe-horned in just to give empty appeal to a crowd. Garnet is probably the best example of that, basically making the entire concept of her character and how she exists to begin with. She's easily my favorite gem, too, so... I guess it's no wonder I latched onto Geno when I started making connections between the two.

Welp. I know what I'm doing this weekend then!

Yeah the pacing can be quite bad at times, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't enjoy the series. Even made two gemsona's back in the day. An Emerald and Fluorite. Canon Fluorite is nothing like mine though lulz.

Edit: I Also relate a bit too much to Amethyst and that's probably not good buuuut....

It's just really interesting to me how you were able to connect Garnet to Geno. Maybe it's because I haven't played SMRPG a whole lot, but still. You should draw Garnet wearing Geno's outfit!! :O That would be so cute!

I just hate getting to see Homeworld and learning about the Gems, and then out of nowhere, we're back in Beach City with episodes like Steven becomes a fortune teller and stuff like that. It throws everything off. I know Rebecca Sugar wanted Steven's life to be divided between his human and Gem half, but I think it'd be more interesting to have those two worlds come together. We should've seen Ronaldo and his katana squaring off against Peridot way back then! Me personally, I grew attached to the show because I can identify with it and feel represented. Although I am not apart of the LGBT group, I was able to heavily identify with Steven. I'm not him where I can basically solve everyone's problems through a lovely chat, but I am an empathetic male who isn't afraid of speaking out about my emotions and being sensitive towards others. Not a lot of male protagonists out there like that, which made the show very special to me.

Edit: I Also relate a bit too much to Amethyst and that's probably not good buuuut....
I'm a mix of Steven and Amethyst. Maybe even Blue Pearl due to my shyness. I'm a carefree, empathetic, shy boy.

EDIT: Fun fact, my name is Steven! :)

I honestly don't know how it happened! It just kinda spawned in my mind out of basically nowhere. I think my train of thought was seeing how Geno's often been interpreted by fandom as so serious and stoic, and while that kind of character trope isn't a bad thing, it needs to be balanced with other qualities to prevent it from being terribly boring. It made me think of how Garnet definitely is that way, but she has a lot of different qualities and ways to achieve humor and passion with her, despite the archetype usually being associated with a dull character. I guess that's how I made that bridge.

Also, YES. That is EXACTLY it. The balance is tough to strike, I'm sure, but as of now, it's a bit... jarring? Like, it kinda gives me whiplash. I guess it made Homeworld feel that much more horrifically alien when we finally got to it, which is neat, but... ehh. It has more faults rather than pluses.

As for me, I'm totally a mix of Steven and Amethyst myself. I guess I'm Smoky Quartz, haha! Then again, I think I have quite a bit of Peridot's... uh, quirkiness in there, too.

There was this YT vid that I watched that I think did a good job summing up all the issues with SU. I remember my roommate first showed SU to me and I loved it. I was like 'Yo, serious kids cartoons are back. It's not just Looney Tunes failed genetic replicas, there is a new show that mixes serious tones again.' Then he moved out and I didn't watch much new on it as I wasn't super hooked and I tried getting back into it but the LGBT-focus around it initially pushed me away because most media at the time couldn't do it right and SU was under some sort of controversy at the time, so I stayed away again.

I'm sure SU has done amazing things because it wouldn't have been so highly recommended before it hit the many snags it has now (hiatus, horrible pacing that is sometimes jarring, covering controversial topics and not quite hitting the nail on the head, etc), but idk if it's my thing. I love animation in general, but I haven't been much into cartoons lately for this exact reason: they are either so child-centered it's painful or they think adult means edgy and disgusting, which is why I tend to stick with anime anymore.

Anime, being animation, means that it can more easily cover ridiculous concepts which means more variety and zany stuff, which is what I love from cartoons...but it also is often geared around more serious topics or has real-world issues amongst the zany stuff, and thus the adult in me who loves interesting concepts and character interaction and good writing can also be appeased.

Anime is much more accepted as a medium now, but it still has it's haters. I can't think of a better way to say why I like anime: it appeases the kid in me with flashy action and crazy moments as well as the adult in me that loves deeper things, and anime does it in a way that movies simply cannot and that cartoons WILL not.

I have another question for all of you. What is a genre of video game that you want to see the Mario series try? It has to be something they have never done before.

TerminalMontage TerminalMontage , I just want to be sure about this... is that Boshi on the far left? I thought that was a nice addition to your animation! I swear, you draw the cutest and funniest Nintendo characters ever.

People, this is a game series that likes to mix things up by throwing in robot toys and a dog teaming up with a duck, not Dead Or Alive. Doing this much fuss over a party series, when its issues are not nearly as severe as those of some big fighter series. At least the waiting period for news has been overall shorter this time around.

Generally-speaking, I think the Franco-Belgian comics industry has a better grasp on juxtaposing the cartoony with the serious. Although it helps that they never really had issues with content like the US so often sadly does. Well, that, and manga and anime are much less niche compared to the US in France at least.

Hack-and-slash, Super Mario Warriors. Enough said.

First-person shooter. Just kidding.

Honestly, a Nintendo strategy game would be fun for me since I like strategy games. As in a Nintendo strategy game, I mean like a crossover strategy game with Nintendo characters. You play as the villains and control their armies: Bowser, Ganondorf, and King K. Rool (More villains will obviously be playable characters in the future, but I'm just putting three characters down for now). So you basically have the Koopa Troop, Ganondorf's Forces, and Kremling Krew armies fighting against each other in a FFA strategy game.

That sounds like a pretty cool game. I had a similar crossover villain idea when I decided to take Ridley's size complaints back in the day and use it to a games advantage. A Nintendo crossover kaiju fighting game where you played as Nintendo's biggest beasts. You would have characters like Giant Bowser(Or Giga Bowser if they want to use the Smash connection), Ganon, Ridley, massive Pokemon, that Porky statue, the list goes on! That certainly sounds like a fun time to me.

By god, I hope you're right. Joker is great and all and Erdrick to me is, as I said, a hype-killer for me (but all the more power to y'all, I hope you guys end up getting him after this whole speculation has been pointing to him, because it'd be a disservice if he didn't), but if this is all hinting to Banjo being more possible than ever before, then...

Nintendo, I hope you give us a Rare return.
I agree. In my opinion, Erdrick isn't as hype as Joker or Banjo. I also hope for a RARE return, too. As for now, I'm just waiting for Joker at the moment.
Spider-Man 2? I see you have great taste. Do you also like X-Men 2? That was my favorite X-Men movie. :)
Unfortunately I have not, but Wolverine is one of my favorite Marvel superheroes. My all-time favorite superhero is Spider-Man. Sam Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy are my favorite superhero movies to this day, and the people that played in Sam Raimi's trilogy absolutely fitted their roles perfectly! Tobey Maguire WAS Peter Parker (also my favorite Spider-Man actor), J.K. Simmons WAS J. Jonah Jameson, James Franco WAS Harry Osborn, Willem Dafoe WAS the Green Goblin, and the list where their actors perfectly fit their roles go on forever! I'm still angry Sony cancelled Sam Raimi's 2nd Spider-Man trilogy that was supposed to start in 2011. To this day, I'm still sad Sam Raimi's movies ended at Spider-Man 3; Spider-Man from 2002 was my first superhero movie and it will always be a part of my childhood memories for the rest of my life. I got to watch Spider-Man (2002) the year it came out on television, but unfortunately I never got to see it in theaters, and I'd do anything to go back in time to see it on the big screen.

I can't thank Stan Lee enough for giving us Spider-Man, and I really wish he was still alive to this day because I'd so want to meet him and thank him so much for everything; Sam Raimi is still here, so I also hope to meet him some day and thank him for making a wonderful Spider-Man trilogy; I also hope to meet all or any of Raimi's trilogy cast in the future because I also want to thank them for giving me such an incredible memory. I apologize for this long post, but you don't know how much Sam Raimi's Spider-Man movies mean a lot to me, and that was probably one of the best ways I could've explained my love for it.

Haha, thank you! Ever heard of Halo Wars? The Nintendo strategy game would kinda be based off it it, and the hero units from Halo Wars are basically the leaders that control the army, and you can control them on the battlefield. So this means the Nintendo strategy would get villain units, where you control your leader on the ground: Bowser, Ganon, and King K. Rool on the ground fighting with their armies to triumph! I plan on wanting to work at NoA in the future, so hopefully I rise up in the ranks and recommend a game or give an idea like this to the higher-ups! :)

Would your Nintendo crossover kaiju fighting game involve a mortal kombat battle system? I'd love a game like that!

I mean, it's not exactly willing to be as crazy and glitz-filled as other fighting games get with their choices, since while some picks are big, they're still within the realm of reason compared to those (Spawn, Darth Vader, Freddie Kruger, Negan, Gon…).

And even with Corrin, it's less insulting than some choices that have been picked for modern Street Fighter games (Street Fighter X Tekken, enough said). Anyway, I'll drop the topic now.

psst, hey. Remember that project I wanted to work on? For the DS? That I can't do obviously?

You joke but I'm pretty sure Splatoon started its life as Mario Paintball until the developers practically begged the higher ups to allow them to make a new IP.

Also, Pokemon Direct was just announced. Polar's source was right yet again.
Yep, just saw the announcement. Let's hope Polar's source is still on the money about the Geno rumors.

I'm pretty tired of Pokemon reps like how I'm tired of Fire Emblem so my response would only be "Ugh."
Yeah, I think we really don't need more Pokemon in Smash, and since a gen 8 one would easily be a shill pick... yeah. Don't wanna pay to be advertised to like with Corrin.

That said, YESSS, GEN 8. What are you guys' hopes? I just want more bunny Pokemon or a flamingo Pokemon... or a nice duck. I love nice ducks. Gimme more ducks. To keep this on-topic with Geno, too, if he had a Pokemon team, what do you think he'd have? Pokemon with cannons for arms (Magmortar?) are a necessity, as well as space Pokemon like Clefable or Minior.
