It's going to be Yoshi in court for committing tax fraud
I hope it's set up like a trick trailer. Like how Joker's was. Where we have no idea it's actually for smash until he pulls out a Smash invitee accidentally when trying to show a piece of evidence. I like to imagine smash invitations just kind of show up. No one delivers them. They just go where they are needed.

Imagine if, in a Geno reveal, he defeats an enemy. You know that white thing (forgot what it's called lol) that you obtain when you defeat an enemy in SMRPG, that can refill all your HP, increase attack, luck, defense, etc.?

What if, in that Geno reveal, that white thing is actually a Smash invitation?

There is no way they can have a trailer involving Geno without it being obvious let's be real. the only way it could be done is if by some Grace by a higher power we get a Super Mario RPG sequel or remake. And he comes directly afterwards. And even then, the moment we see the trailer for it we know Geno is in Smash.

Or they can show all the swordsman battling in the Colosseum and Geno jumps in and says

"NO

MORE

ANIME

SWORDSMAN!!!!!"

Jeez voice to text is so terrible. It keeps spelling Geno wrong and I don't catch it.

just so you all know I have a special treat planned for this thread when I get home from work later. The banjo thread also gets one but I'm keeping it a secret on what it is till I show you all.

A Geno trailer would most likely involve Mario, Peach, and Bowser. Or maybe Cloud or Rosalina. It would be pretty obvious it's a trailer for him, but then again, the trailers for Ridley and K. Rool were obvious too.

All this Phoenix Wright talk makes me happy, and also makes me realize I haven't been to his support thread in like 2 months.

Honestly, Miyamoto seems to be a consistent problem these days, He's responsible for so many bad things happening because he just HAS to do something new and crazy for every game. F Zero is still one of my favorite actual racing games out there because its more focused on your overall driving skill rather than your luck with items. But we will never get another F Zero game so long as miyamoto is overseeing everything nintendo does. I am still amazed to this day that there is a mario galaxy 2. But, hes directly responsible for F zero, star fox, and paper mario being ruined beyond belief and it hurts to say and realize that, just because we know he can do cool things still, like Odyssey and BotW
Actually, Odyssey was all Yoshiaki Koizumi, Koichi Hayashida, and Kenta Motokura. Miyamoto didn't really even take part in Odyssey at all, besides probably giving the authority of Mario to those who developed and directed the game. Other than that, he did take part of it by being an executive producer, but as the sources say, he was there watching the developers build the game and not once did he make them change whatever they did. So really, Miyamoto didn't do anything in Odyssey, he let the developers do what they needed to do, which is what he should've let Intelligent Systems did when they were developing Paper Mario on the 3DS.

Yeah, Miyamoto is basically the "Square" of Nintendo. Miyamoto is very stingy when it comes to letting others or himself do what he wants. Do you know why we don't see a lot of Mario HD remakes? It's because he opened his thoughts about it and says he prefers Mario in new games, not remakes. I respect that and it makes a little sense, but an HD remake of Sunshine would be nice. Miyamoto even said he wants to make a Super Mario Galaxy 3, but honestly, I think it's a little too late. The Galaxy saga is just too far away to continue, so he kinda screwed up there. It's almost been 9 years since Galaxy 2 was released, which was 3 years after Galaxy 1. Continuing the saga after 9+ years would seem odd.

Regarding the news of an unannounced Switch title that “fans would be delighted to know”...

I know it would never happen and I would just be dreaming at this point, but imagine if this was eventually revealed to be SMRPG 2. How would you guys feel?

Yeah I am also curious. This could mean literally anything. Fans would be delighted for any news.

Besides that I actually had an interesting question pop up into my head today. What do you all think Geno would sound like if he had a voice actor? Because we all know he talked in Super Mario RPG. But what type of voice did you imagine him to have?

Found it.

Personally, I’m thinking it’s either a new F-Zero, a new Golden Sun, a new Advance Wars, or a new Star Fox. With the comments about Online, I’m thinking it’s F-Zero or Advance Wars.

Oh yeah could also be Pikmin but again online leans me towards those two.

Could also be Punch-Out. Punch-Out would be cool.

Edit: just read the original tweet, and the guy (jokingly) said it could be For the Frog the Bell Tolls 2. Never wanted to high give someone so much.

I've always heard him with that sort of nerdy voice from the Rawest Forest video:

But if I had to choose a voice actor to play Geno, I think Todd Haberkorn might be a good fit, but perhaps an even better fit would be Johnny Yong Bosch.

So, I've noticed this post in the Banjo thread:

Those were packed in the cartridge so those cannot be removed. I don't think it's bad or good or leads to anything.

https://twitter.com/_Mizumi/status/1091187968394579968

One thing that can lead to something is that some of the animation files that were for Bowser Jr are in the Plant folder. If the dataminer is correct then the Devs used Bowser Jr as a base to make Plant. It makes sense due to both plant and Bowser Jr being similar.

I bring this up because who were the characters that were messed with when 2.0.0 dropped that caused massive data corruptions? Duck Hunt and Mii Swordsmen. Why those two specifically? Guess who else resembles Duck Hunt? Banjo and Kazooie. Who else could only work as a Mii Swordsmen? Steve. Duck Hunt was changed in the update, but Swordfighter was not. I just find it it strange how it was these two characters who caused such a glitch in the code.

Unless this was just one massive coincidence I feel like this could lead to something for our duo. Im not about to jump up and claim "They're in!" , but this did raise an eyebrow for me. Take this with salt lads, don't lose faith.
It's bleeding weird how Bowser Jr of all people would be used as a base for PP. Although it does show that PP was done on even shorter notice than initially thought.

Knowing this now, it's interesting to note how way back when someone randomly leaked P-Plant on 4chan (which ended up entirely ignored with no replies), they actually said Plant would be in a car like Bowser Jr. When people finally noticed the archived post after Plant's reveal, everyone sort of just assumed he either made a really good guess, or that he just mistook the pot/pipe as a car.

However, knowing now that Bowser Jr. was used as a base, I wonder if he did in fact see a Piranha Plant in a car similar to Jr.?

That's possible. In any case, it goes to show that whoever can be used as a base for DLC characters now isn't as clear-cut as it used to be.

**** I didn't know Miyamoto was this stingy.

Plus hey they released Kingdom Hearts 3 14 years after KH2 so I think that, if they wanted, they could make an SMG3. It would be hella cool if they involved Geno in it.

I'm seriously hoping that it's a certain trilogy with 2 reps in Smash with the 3rd game of it being one of Nintendo's biggest memes.

But, knowing Nintendo, it's probably going to be a re-release of Mario Party 8 or Mario Kart 2

That announcement is super interesting, but with that said, I doubt the online title they're hinting at in particular is anything to do with F-Zero, although I so wish it was. Poor F-Zero's been neglected since the freaking Gamecube. Like, c'mon.

That being said, the wording of the article is fascinating, kinda hinting towards there being multiple titles to look forward to, with one of them happening to be great for Switch Online. If SMRPG getting remastered ends up being one, I'll lose it, but I'm going to presume not.

So, have we already come to terms with spirits not deconfirming characters?
Because Piranha Plant didn't have a spirit, though I guess to a stretch there were 2 Petey Piranhas and a Nipper Plant spirit.
Geno still has a spirit, as does Mallow, would they both still be out, since there wasn't a Piranha Plant spirit?

Or, if we're talking about stuff that's already been confirmed, would it not count since Spirits was fully explained along with PP being announced?
Wii Fit and K Rool have some technicalities, too.

The way I see spirits is that no one knows 100% if spirits deconfirm or not. We can think they do or don't, but we'll never be positive about it until DLC is over and no Spirits became characters, or a character that is a Spirit is revealed.

I look at it this way... if Geno WASN'T a spirit and he was in; the lack of his spirit would be a dead give away imo. If Nintendo wants to make these reveals proper reveals and not non-reveals, the best way to throw us off the scent would to add his spirit in anyways. It's like if Dixie's spirit was missing. It would be really ****ing suspicious.

Would it really be a giveaway, though? He and Mallow are owned by Square-Enix - given how little content Final Fantasy has in Smash Ultimate (it only got two spirits with the Smash Ultimate artwork of Cloud's costumes, not even any artwork from the original game or Advent Children, and that's their flagship series), it would have been brushed off as Square-Enix being stingy.

Well since people are talking about Nintendo's investors Q&A where they mentioned two unannounced titles, being a title that would please fans and a title that would fit with the online service, I would like to mention what I think those games are.

The online service game in my opinion is either a brand new IP, Advance Wars (Although I doubt it since the only update on Advance Wars was a register for a potential phone game), or F-Zero.

The game that would please fans in my opinion is Golden Sun 4. Nintendo has known how much we have wanted a new entry in the series and they trademarked Golden Sun three times last year when there was no reason to.

True that, but when people initially didn't find Geno's and Mallow's spirits in the initial spirit list leak (the one of like 800), people took it as a great sign for Geno up-and-coming. I guess it's a matter of how you view it, and it's rather subjective, so who knows what Nintendo was thinking when they did that?

Nintendo as they stand right now likely won't make a new F-Zero and have no incentive to. AW seems very unlikely, as well. I'd wager it's either a new IP or something else we're not expecting.

As for the game that pleases fans, I sincerely doubt it's Golden Sun. If Isaac wasn't added to Smash because Sakurai viewed the series as having 'no future', would that really be in the pipeline? Surely by being one of Nintendo's most cherished developers, he'd have known that a Golden Sun game was in development. I'd love for GS to happen, don't get me wrong, but I really don't think this is it. If we get a GS after the fan outburst and backlash, it'll be quite some time down the line.

Before the DLC release? Because she does have an spirit now
Yep, with his inclusion, PP has a fighter spirit now. And one that wasn't in the game before at that.

Joker will obviously be under the same circumstances. If the next few also fit that criteria, the pattern will continue which will increase the outlook of the spirits theory, at least as far as this first season pass goes.

When did Sakurai ever state that? I would just like to know as I have been following Sakurai's famitsu columns and interviews. Plus even if he did state that, that was his mindset during this games planning which would be in late December 2015 to early January 2016. A Golden Sun game could have been in development past that time period. Plus Sakurai isn't the ultimate decider on other projects like Golden Sun.

Polar's source has gone on record to note that this was Sakurai's decision, and NoA as a whole was aware of this. They were also terribly shocked by the backlash to Isaac's AT and Mii costume.

That being said, I just still can't see GS as likely. If Sakurai views the series as having no future, at the very least, it doesn't make prospects look so good.

It still means nothing.

Don't start this.

It's so silly to think Sakurai is legitimately going to deny a character he has ideas for entry into the series because ''Well, can't. We have that google image search png in the game already. Darn."

Nevermind the whole ''OH MY GOD IF A FIGHTER HAS MULTIPLE IMAGES IN THE GAME IT BREAKS THE GAME's STORY." gets shot in the face when you realize all those yoga poses can't have a spirit of their own and it'd have to be the spirit of the Wii Fit Trainer doing the pose possessing the fighter, not you know...an actual inanimate stance a human being can do.

Obviously, given Geno is a part of the Mario series, we need to look at spirits in a different light, but first, we're going to need to talk about parallel universes.

Woah, settle down there Fish. Never said the spirits theory was confirmed. I was mainly just answering a question.

I mean, so far the criteria of the theory hasn't been broken yet, anyway. I'm neutral to the whole thing, I could benefit from it being true or untrue either way.
