Actually, Odyssey was all Yoshiaki Koizumi, Koichi Hayashida, and Kenta Motokura. Miyamoto didn't really even take part in Odyssey at all, besides probably giving the authority of Mario to those who developed and directed the game. Other than that, he did take part of it by being an executive producer, but as the sources say, he was there watching the developers build the game and not once did he make them change whatever they did. So really, Miyamoto didn't do anything in Odyssey, he let the developers do what they needed to do, which is what he should've let Intelligent Systems did when they were developing Paper Mario on the 3DS.
Yeah, Miyamoto is basically the "Square" of Nintendo. Miyamoto is very stingy when it comes to letting others or himself do what he wants. Do you know why we don't see a lot of Mario HD remakes? It's because he opened his thoughts about it and says he prefers Mario in new games, not remakes. I respect that and it makes a little sense, but an HD remake of Sunshine would be nice. Miyamoto even said he wants to make a Super Mario Galaxy 3, but honestly, I think it's a little too late. The Galaxy saga is just too far away to continue, so he kinda screwed up there. It's almost been 9 years since Galaxy 2 was released, which was 3 years after Galaxy 1. Continuing the saga after 9+ years would seem odd.
