When is Direct coming? Also, would love to see Scorpion in smash, I know it has been talked about before with people hoping he would be in it but it would not fit the system with how violent he is. Would love to check out Metroid. But i'm always hoping for the Animal Crossing Switch news, will forever have my hopes up on that game.

I can’t ever see a Mortal Kombat character get in. Fatalities are just way too essential to the franchise and the characters.

I don’t think I need to explain why having scorpion rip pichu’s head off with the spine still attached, or sub zero freeze half a character’s body followed by knocking the other half clean off in a bloody mess, wouldn’t be a good fit in smash.

Erdrick seems about 90% conclusive to me, but... I really hope you aren't referring to the Ryu Hayabusa/Steve/Doom Marine leak in the same vein. There is literally no evidence for that leak being a thing, and it's just a run-of-the-mill text leak that people started to cling to for very little reason. I say this as someone who would like Ryu Hayabusa and especially the Doom Marine, too. It's a little silly to say that one is conclusive in any sense of the word.

Jon from Gamexplain, the one especially considered to have insider connections, also was certain about Shadow for base game and Geno for DLC, as well as a Tetronimo. We never got those.

They aren't infallible in the slightest.

Doom being considered the smallest franchise compared to the likes of Persona and Ninja Gaiden/DoA when its iconicness spreads across multiple generations and is undeniably one of the biggest game-changers in video game history?

Sorry, dude, but I don't think you realize how big a deal Doom is. Keep your hopes tempered. If this leak ends up being fake, you're going to be very disappointed.

The fact that people are believing in 'safe bets' is what got them flipped on their heads at the VGAs. Along with that, apart from the weird case of Erdrick, an NoA insider literally said that no one knows the DLC. Info is coming out as they are being developed. The leak comes with a lot of attached fiction and reasoning behind it, as well, which is 9 times out of 10 the sign of a fake leak.

I'll let you in on a little secret when it comes to Gamexplain, too: a 40 minute video making guesses on the leak and making it seem so enticing is because that's what they do to make their bread. That prints money. All those mid-roll advertisements from people clinging to a leak is what gets them that dosh. The only reason they never covered certain leaks like the Grinch one is because they knew for a fact that it was fake. They've covered many fake leaks like this in the past, and this won't stop them now.

Do they have insider info? To an extent, yes. Are they infallible? No. Are their certainties something I believe in? No, as they've done this many a time in the past. After all, if they show all of their cards so handily, do you really think Nintendo would keep their open affiliation with them? They have to play their cards carefully. This leak contradicts information we know from insiders about DLC knowledge and even words from Sakurai himself about how far into development the DLC is. It could be something that's nuanced and is real, but it could easily be fake, as well.

Leaks like these are taken with a grain of salt for a reason. Don't discount them entirely, but don't cling to them. Given the track record of leaks like these in particular, too, my bet is this one is fake, even if I'm not 100% on it being so. Temper your expectations and don't argue like unproven leaks without any evidence are absolute fact. It's a very flawed approach.

Fair enough, I'm pretty familiar with leak culture so I get it could obviously be fake. Part of it is I'm kind of burnt out from all the fake leak debating leading up to this game, so I'm kind of taking a different approach with how I handle leaks.

But I promise you my expectations are tempered. I really don't see any spirits making it as dlc tho, seems counter-intuitive.

Fire Emblem 6 will assuredly happen, it's just a matter of time. It's the earlier ones I'm more worried they'll ignore, but maybe they'll give them the echoes treatment.
