Frankly, in modern day, the only ones who get what they want are persistent and annoying, with a dash of aggressive.

But they were aggressive. Fanart, posting it everywhere, convincing people to vote for K. Rool. It was a propaganda campaign to get him elected into Smash.
They were first party and base game. It's easier for Sakurai to slip in one or two fan requests in base roster, especially when they are both first party. DLC's are all expected to make big bucks on their own.
Preach. This guy drives me up the ****ing wall. You come into the Geno thread when it's not Geno to mope and whine, and if you like DQ YOU ARE EVIL. You come into the Squenix thread to argue with literally everybody that isn't a diehard Geno fan that would give their firstborn for him It reflects poorly on you, and by extension the Geno fanbase. Every time.
I'm simply not able to separate art from the artist. And I get upset when so many people just.... don't care about the rancid **** happening.
That's why they're DQ fans or DQ supporters and not Sugiyama's fans or Sugiyama's Supporters
Nice. Guilting people that like DQ [READ: NOT SUGIYAMA] and support its rightful place in Smash because you are unable to separate the art from the artist, so now nobody can enjoy it, and if you do, you're racist! It's unbelievably childish, playing the moral high ground card about a video game character.
Why? I think Sugiyama is a bigoted prick, sure. His music is still good and I'd pay him for his honest work.

No, Geno did not get deconfirmed. Eddy technically got confirmed, but it doesn't mean that Geno is out. "Only 1 SE rep" is a fanmade rule
The composer is being paid for composing music, not for his views. I agree his views are particularly bad, but that's not what he's getting paid for. And honestly, as a person who reads more than posts, it's honestly tiring to have this subject brought up again and again.

Uh, does it REALLY though? Your opinions on a man can be debated elsewhere, but Geno's chances have nothing to do with Sugiyama's beliefs, and that's what we talk about here: Geno in Smash, and his competition. Take the politics somewhere else, brother.

Oh, well that really sucks. MAybe we can try to campaign for a SMRPG Remake/Sequel or wave 2. I see you guys are already talking about that one. Either way, I hope Eddy has got a fun playstyle and they're able to incorporate something like the movesets brought up in his thread.
I have signed and will do what I can to help. Even if he can't get into smash, getting them back in the limelight would be awesome.
These things always seem way too long term. If we're lucky and some how do get Geno in more games; we STILL have to wait for the next Smash before he has a shot to get in. I've seen the same thing go on with the Isaac bros and I just don't think it will get anywhere any time soon. It's really lofty. Pushing for Smash is a much more reasonable goal.
This is all wonderfully phrased. Strifer's points are quite valid but the way they are presented devalues them, and he only digs himself deeper.
Thanks for the compliment, and I agree the way he presents himself and perhaps even his main focus defeats his arguments before anyone else ever could.
10 months to push like hell with nothing in our way (what have we got to lose haha) if you wanna come from a glass half full angle! We aren't stopping until Geno is given the respect he deserves!
I think it's time they should evolve Mario sandbox games to be more than just random fragments of land, but an actual connected world. The leap from 64 to Sunshine was stunning, but the leap from Sunshine to Odyssey (which was over twice as long)...
