I would be mixed. It mainly depends on who it is. I don't really like Urshifu, Toxtricity, or Inteleon that much. Rillaboom would be fine (and complete the non-Gen 1 starter trilogy with Greninja and Incineroar) . Cinderace is definitely my pick, as I think a fire soccer rabbit would just be cool (no pun intended LOL). As long as Geno gets in, I'm not too worried about the other 3 slots. I'm still unsure if a Gen 8 Pokemon is even eligible, because it seems a lot of people are mixed on if the spirit event disconfirmed it or not. The way I look at it is: if the Paper Mario spirit event means no Paper Mario, then it should mean the Gen 8 spirit event means no Pokemon. Of course, we don't know IF Paper Mario or Pokemon is actually disconfirmed by that spirit event. We'll need to wait and see. Smash Bros. speculation is such a wild (but kinda fun) ride LOL.
Nah, not SH&SH since it’s one of my least favorite Pokémon games ever because of GF’s crap. I played the game twice and barely touched it ever since. I suppose Toxtricity or Rillaboom would work since they’re both on my team. We could use Rillaboom as a rhythm beat fighter with the drums. I’m not too worried about though because why add a rep since their was already a spirit event? Pokémon doesn’t even need Smash for any purpose. We need Grovyle. Not only a gen 3 rep but represents Mystery Dungeon in the next Smash game. With all that, Geno and Crash matters to me the most. If both are in, it wouldn’t bother that much.
I believe I've mentioned this before, but I don't plan on leaving Smash speculation any time soon. While it may be equal parts boring and stressful at points, the fun I have trying to piece together who's coming greatly outweighs both.
I think the closest you can get is the Isaac Thread. They're a pretty close-knit community who have been around since the Brawl/early Smash 4 days, they back a character from a relatively obscure yet dearly beloved RPG series, they have their own

, and they're pretty in-depth when it comes to speculation and research.While I'm tempted to just say "lol just make a good game", I'll go with "do enough new and refrain from ****ing off the original too much". There's few things out there more annoying to me than watching a sequel constantly reference their predecessor's most notable and quotable moments, especially if it's done half-assedly, whilst offering little to nothing original of it's own. Basically, Terminator: Dark Fate.

People out here complaining that we don't have Dante or Sora in Smash, yet nobody's raising a fuss about us not having this lad in Smash already.

I had a Dixie Kong reveal trailer dream awhile back and Geno was in Dixie's gameplay montage.
I mean, aside from that with the Pokemon spirit event it seems a lot less clear cut especially considering we get token Pokemon reps for every gen (won't elaborate), the person was asking how would you feel if we got a Pokemon rep, not whether one is likely. This kind of stuff is getting more common tbh, where people ask how they'd feel on something and then they go and say why one isn't happening. If anything you could just take that as someone not wanting to acknowledge the possibility so they try to find reasons as to why one is apparently not happening with topics that are related in name only. That could by extension be taken to mean that they think one is likely but just aren't acknowledging the possibility like I said.

There’s always the possibility of more free stages like Small Battlefield too. Where did you see that we have 9 stages left? I thought it was less than that. Very interesting if true.

I'd just like to point out more briefly again that the person was asking how would people feel. I understand why people don't want a new Pokemon but I'm fairly certain people are only bringing it up as if they were talking about likelihood because of a knee-jerk reaction as no one wants a new Pokemon. It just makes it seem like people are bringing up such a controversial choice at every chance they get just to try to reestablish to people why one is supposedly not happening but those kind of reactions could be taken that the possibility isn't being accepted and is being shot down when even an unrelated mention of it is made, which like I said is not surprising.
I support a lot of characters. But after Geno get's in, I'll mainly be spending most of my time on this site in the Shantae thread.
I’ll probably stick around to support Marx from Kirby. I personally think Bandana Waddle Dee should get the slot first since his fans have been going at this for a really long time, but after that I’m going all in on that crazy jester.
Both Geno and Marx debut in 1996 as that's the year both SMRPG and Kirby Superstar came out.
Me too! I personally love the epic stare-downs before they power up to fight.
After Geno I'll continue supporting Waluigi. I'm all for Rex, Bandana Dee, Dixie and so much more, but Waluigi would be the last fighter I'd truly want if Geno makes it in or vice versa. Anything after Geno and Waluigi is just icing on the cake for me. After that I think I would spend most of my time in the roster/icon maker thread, though I'll still lurk around here and other threads from time to time
You're not wrong. Mainly zoomers who didn't grow up with the classics and have zero attachments towards most of the Retro games before their time hate or disrespect the old timey characters like K. Rool, Banjo & Kazooie, Geno, Crash, ect the most.
This happens to newer gen characters too, like my favorite who is now in (Steve). It goes both ways, unfortunately, people acting spoiled rotten to each other and coming up with the stupidest reasons and assumptions to dismiss the characters and their fans such as “meme pick” etc.
It's ridiculous because people shouldn't ignore something because it's a product before their time. People who only play Retro games or only play new games are missing out on great games from either side.
