This is certainly eyebrow raising. Curious if GameStop or Nintendo will take any sort of actions against this video as a result if this is a leak. If they do, then that would be a clear answer to its legitimacy, but I could see them not doing anything just to keep it up in the air until Geno is announced.

Sakurai got mad when the SSE cutscenes were leaked. I hope this doesn’t mean he’s going to cut Geno from future releases.

Wow so its gamestops fault this time? Honestly this doesn't change much for me as I already thought we were going to see him next so without footage this doesn't make it "feel any more real" I guess how I'd put it. The level of hype I'd have at the reveal is going to be the same unlike if Nintendo messed up like with Terry or we saw footage.

How do you mention "fans being excited for Geno when he was revealed for smash" and NOT be referring to a playable fighter appearance?
I don't see how this could be hidden as a "slip-up" and "actually meaning the costume/spirit" because that's just decade old news at this point...

Can you imagine...out of all people, LITERALLY ANYBODY, it HAD to be ******* Gamestop to be the one to potentially leak Geno.
July 20th can’t come any sooner.

He wanted Geno to be playable as much as we do. I don't think an accidental leak like this would make him want to cut the character out

This just in, GameStop has not only leaked Geno, but also the music tracks he'll bring with him. Here's one of them...

To be fair, that was a joke. Also, to be fair, I’m sure he wanted those fanservicey cutscenes as much as we did too, but that didn’t stop him from burying story mode in Smash 4, and giving us almost nothing in Ultimate.

Okay...this is interesting. I think we may actually have Geno show up in Smash Bros as a playable fighter from this. I think the only way we can cement this stuff as an honest-to-god leak is if the lady in the video gets fired at some point in the near future. I'll take this with the entire Bonneville Salt Flats, but if this points to what I think it is...then holy crap, this may be our victory.

Do you think the video will get taken down if Nintendo notices? If it does, I can’t help but to feel GameStop just leaked Geno. The video was uploaded in July 13 so it could be anytime before the direct.

This community has saved me from suicide twice. It's fine if people don't want Geno, but seriously **** anyone who ****s on you guys. "Oh sure, they consistently talk people out of killing themselves, but they want a character I don't like in smash so **** them"

No **** off with that. You guys are incredible. Don't let anyone tell you different.

I don't think Nintendo'd be stupid enough to take down a video like that if this turns out legit, I mean look at the Ken leak. But GameStop might be stupid enough to fire her within the next few days if that was a real case of loose-lips here. That's what I think may solidify this.

I'm trying to remain cautious because it could've just been poor word choice talking about his spirit or the Smash 4 costume

Huh... I will still go in with a "hope for the best, expect the worst mindset", but even I have to admit that if the interview is legit, he is probably in and hilariously number 7 as many "joked" that he would be. Granted, he could be a premium costume too and some would be hyped (looking at Sans and Cuphead)

It wouldn't be Pam Horton taking the fall for this, most likely. She had the information and likely recorded her video and meant for it to be sat on until after Geno's reveal, but because of how things ended up going with COVID, the Direct was delayed until after Paper Mario released. I'm thinking one of the GS producers takes the fall for this one, because they didn't bother to actually comb the video for major spoilers before they let it go public.

What's also interesting is that almost no one has actually seen this video whatsoever. They could unlist it now while only >1000 people have watched it and it'd probably blow over.
