I just want something to specific be hyped about. It's been too long.

This, definitely, and I'd love if it was PM3 to shower with my hype. That said though, I did the same with SS and not only did I buy a new system for it, I was crushed so hard that I've become a pessimistic and jaded adult over it... So idk if PM is the right game to have optimism for, unless Miyamoto himself apologizes for the atrocities he caused on the PM series, or we see a near-finished version of the game and not an early stage screenshot showing a partner.

This too. Kind of tired of the Blue Check Mark Game Gurus telling people to curb their enthusiasm. We're in the middle of the first major pandemic of the 21st century and very likely the beginning of a global recession... Maybe we're just honestly starved for good news of literally any kind at the moment? Sorry if that pops your monocle out of place but the truth of the matter is that a lot of people genuinely look forward to Directs because a lot of things suck in their lives and, yes, a "glorified commercial" brings a little sunshine to a good number of people. Honestly, I'm okay in my own life but if I see one more condescending Tweet or video from a person who gets paid for their video game opinions, I'm going to flip my **** like I'm the head cook at an IHOP. You all are allowed to be frustrated and it's honestly nobody else's business as to why but your own.

All of this, yes. Unless you're part of the 1% or anarchists who want the world to burn, we haven't had a lot of great news lately. We could really use some positive things to look forward to, and E3 is way, WAY too far away for that.

I mean, I've said it before and I'll say it again, it really isn't unreasonable to expect Nintendo to unveil at least the first fighter of FP2 in the next direct. If they don't give us ANYTHING Smash related until E3, I think people totally have a right to be pissed. Most of us here are very invested in the game and its future (especially if Geno happens to be in it) and for multiple reasons I've listed before, it's highly presumptuous of Nintendo to expect us to shell out cash for a pass without us knowing anyone that's in it. It's fiscally moronic to advertise a product with ZERO information given as to its content and Nintendo's plummeting stock is proof that silence is not golden when it comes to hyping your consumers/stock holders about a YEAR'S worth of upcoming games. Animal Crossing is all well and good, but you can't hold up your entire install base with AC and some Pokemon DLC. If Nintendo is cooking up a nuclear blast of sexy info, then great. The wait will be worth it. If not......hoooooo boy. I'm telling you right now, if the next Direct ends up being some piddly Direct Mini with just a couple indie spots and nothing else, there's gonna be a riot and frankly a well deserved one too.

I mean, Jesus, look at the rumors supported by multiple people and all of those are pretty heavy hitters on their own. Throw in some of the **** from my guys and Markomaro and you've got a crazy good Direct and E3 brewing, nevermind Smash and all the stuff that's already leaked.

I sure hope you're right. I just don't have a lot of faith in rumors these days. They haven't really been panning out the vast majority of the time.

At the end of the day, I agree with you, getting the next fighter reveal is the most important thing for me right now, regardless of how they do it, but I still want to see what else is in store for us this year. Besides, a Burger King napkin is nice, but a legit CG animated trailer is better.

Pretty much this. I know Metroid Prime 4 won't be out for awhile so this is basically my lineup of interests as well. But Metroid Prime 4 was the announcement that literally got me to buy a Switch so once that release comes closer nothing else will matter to me except for obviously if Geno made it into Smash around that time. I would probably actually be interested in a Lego x Mario or espcially Lego x Nintendo game. Lego games are usually good dumb clean fun.

At this point Im really losing interest in Smash fast. I'm not expecting Geno to be the first reveal since I'm of the impression that there won't be many promotions so it might be better to save him for later for the surprise of course that doesn't mean he won't be first I just don't see him as likely for first. Not many other characters would get a big reaction from me barring any Indie rep, Crash (or Spyro), Rayman, or Master Chief so I'm not really expecting the first reveal to even really appeal to me specifically. They could catch my interest with something like boss rush mode or proving Fatman's celebration theory correct or something like that though. I really hope celebration theory pans out.

Yeah, with everything circling around, I'm very confident that the next Direct will have at least one thing I will be super excited about. Whether that might be Paper Mario, Metroid, a Smash character that is actually hype to me, etc. And as you said, a "glorified commercial" still excites people. It can also dissapoint people if said commercial doesn't show what they like. If we somehow go Direct-less this week and next week, Animal Crossing will most likely make me not care about a direct for a while, but still.

I agree with you but to be fair I think Nintendo's stocks have more to do with their competition releasing new consoles so there's going to be a console generation gap, Corona virus, and in general video games are increasingly more demanding while the prices of them have been stagnant for a long time so in general video game business is kind of struggling as a whole as a result of this and not so much because of our news drought though I'm sure it doesn't help.

It'll be interesting to see what happens after the next Direct. If they reveal a solid line-up of games and then the stocks shoot back up, then we'll know for sure if the issue was transparency. If so, I hope Nintendo takes note in the future.

So I saw this video from BlastBox about who could be cut in Smash 6 and he gives a pretty good rating for almost everyone. He is bias against a few characters like Corrin. Though almost everyone is though lol! He has a solid mock up here of who is mostly likely to stay and be cut in the next game. Hopefully Geno makes it into Ultimate with every single veteran.

I’m surprised people are still saying this. People were basing this on the fact that the filesize listed in the copyright was the same size as the SNK Heroines DLC filesize... while completely ignoring the fact that the Smash DLC characters all had the same filesize too. It was just a legitimate slip-up/leak. There’s no basis to say that they copy-pasted the SNK Heroines DLC onto the Smash page.

The picture at the top, is that part of the "leak" too? Because that picture is super fake. Just by looking at it, the person who made it didn't have a clue about perspective. I mean, neither do I when it comes to *making* a leak, but I can at least see when they don't have a clue either, lol.
