Do you think you could defeat geno in a fight if you brought a jar of termites?

I'd honestly say that Geno showing up at E3 is THE most likely scenario (unless he ends up being a costume). He's definitely not Fighter 5, and if Nintendo is making another pass it makes 0 sense to have Geno as the first fighter shown off and them doing a triple reveal in the January/February Direct is pretty stupid.

However, I don't consider Geno a "lock" as many people in this thread do. He's decently possible, and there is nothing deconfirming him; but he still has a ton of competition from other potential characters, both big and small.
This is exactly my thoughts as well. The only one I am not certain about is your E3 scenario. I'm not sold on him showing up or not showing up. All I know is that the next few Mii Costume Waves are going to put me on a constant panic attack.

I suppose we will also see the Western release of Dragon Quest Heroes 1+2 announced based on the recent store leak.
That is a good call, actually. Yes.

Oh heck no. That's an unwinnable fight. Remember: Mario characters can casually out-swim black holes, shatter brick blocks with their hands (which are approx. 3x3x3' in size), and can tank Bob-Omb explosions which are really powerful, Geno also tanks a significantly larger Bob-Omb in SMRPG. Geno also helped fight off Smithy, an inter-dimensional warlord with the power to grant life to his inanimate creations.

I doubt the termites could even eat through Geno's body, let alone even reach him due to his speed.

Honestly, I can't wait to finally move on from character 5. Kinda wondering if they will be released after the potential direct since it has been awhile with any info.

I can't wait for them to reveal fighter 6 and forget to announce fighter 5.
"Fighter 5 was initially going to be the final DLC fighter for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, but we've decided to postpone their release until the very end. Thank you all for watching."

Us after the months of fighter 5 speculation:

So, a "funny" thought crossed my mind. If let's say... a Nintendo Direct is announced to be broadcasted this upcoming January 6th (a Monday), I immediately recalled some reaching speculation I posted a few days ago (about the Three Kings Day holiday) and... heh... it's curious. Melchior, Balthasar, and Gaspar; these are the names of the Three Magus Kings, and curiously enough, these are also the names of these wise, fine gentlemen from one of gaming history's most iconic (if not THE most iconic) JRPG of the SNES era.

Yes, this speculation is also very much reaching but... wouldn't it be something wild if Square and Nintendo threw the curve ball of adding Crono within the next DLC wave (being announced during a potential Jan. 6 Nintendo Direct along with other names that will come in the post-pass DLC)?

On the topic of Geno, well... I'm just waiting for him to be revealed already. :tired: Oh, actually, in regards to alt colors, yes; best case scenario is that he'd be given his different capes from SMRPG.

Crono would be pretty cool. I thought his design was way better than Hero’s and thought he would translate to 3D well.

Watching the Geno detractors go from 'one game, dead series, forgotten character, uninspired moveset, pointless clone, 90s nostalgia manbabies' against Geno to then switching over and thinking Crono is awesome would be amusing and frustrating.

Alright. First of all, Happy 2020 everyone here.

Hopefully this shapes to be a good 2020 for lots of things, not only Geno.

Seems like this are happening with the whole SKU things with GameStop.

We're so close guys, just hang on~

No character should get any hate. People have different tastes. I don’t see why people are fighting over this sort of stuff. What are people gaining from this? It’s just idiotic. I just want Geno in just so everyone shuts the hell up about “oh this character can’t get in because of this reason” because that rule was broken a long time ago. Unless you start talking about characters that are from outside of video games , that’s a different story.

People argue about this because they don't want who they consider "unworthy characters" to get in over who they consider "worthy characters".

That and differing opinions on what Smash is a represents, especially regarding third party characters.

It would be amusing to see GameFAQS and 4chan reaction seeing Geno is playable. Just sayin.

As a Chronno Trigger fan, this hurts me really deeply...

Well that depends. How difficult do you think it'd be to slather a whole jar of termites onto someone's nuts mid-battle?

Geno is not in smash, because he stolen Sakurai's microwave
Really? I always thought it was because he cheated on his wife.

Just about to post that! Looks like they are getting the placeholder ready...Hold on to your butts people.
The individual Packs were already on that menu weren't they? The date is definitely new but I swear I remember seeing a placeholder for FP5 there before back when Terry released.

We've talked about music a lot in here, but I don't believe we've talked much about remixes specifically. Say Geno gets into Smash, and with him he brings 3 new remixes of SMRPG songs, along with other original tracks.

First question is this: What songs would you choose to be remixed? Why these songs out of the soundtrack instead of others?
On top of that, how would you remix these tracks? Would they simply be faithful recreations of the originals, or would you get a bit abstract? Maybe change up the style of music entirely? The choice is up to you! Here are my choices:

Beware the Forest Mushrooms: This song is a gimme. It's arguably the song tied to Geno the most, even though it isn't his official "theme". It's also one of the most popular songs in SMRPG in general, granting this track easy access to the remix zone. For me, I would take this song two ways. Since it's such a popular song, I could see it retaining it's same style and just upping the quality to better fit the rest of Ultimate's soundtrack. If it were to be a new take on the song, I would go with a Super Mario Galaxy-esque orchestral remix. Think Gusty Gardens from SMG1 mixed with Forest Dwellers from SMG2.

Fight Against an Armed Boss: Once again, this is one of the most popular songs in the game. It is also a song that is quite frequently heard in the game, as it's not tied to a certain area, being a battle theme. For a remix, I would really enjoy a big band-style shake on this one. Brass instruments would work with this track beautifully.

Goodbye Geno: For my last remix, I would choose Goodbye Geno. It's one of the songs used to end the game, and I consider it among many others to be Geno's theme. It's a beautiful song that deserves to be brought back to life. My only request for this song would be to have it composed by Yoko Shimomura once again. I wouldn't trust that the outcome would be just as great if it were not to come from Yoko herself.

Just checked on the website and my switch eShop...it is where Piranha Plant is. Perhaps fake, mostly fake.

EDIT: Slender Slender Those are the exact tracks I was imagining coming with Geno! Though if I had to pick a different track, Something along the lines of a town medley would be neat. Imagine Rose town blending into Nimbus Land and so on.

I Honestly cannot choose a 3rd track.. but I guess I'd go for Nimbus Land (Let's do the Fooka-Fooka)..
I really want him to bring at least 8 tracks, it isn't that much, right? I hope Shimomura owns the music (And not Square Enix).
Oh Oh! And I'd LOVE if Geno ends up coming with Fight Against Culex so we can get an additional FF track.
