Yeah they come into the thread to discuss things now and then but they have lives and aren’t at your beck and call. They don’t actually owe the thread and the people in it anything. These people keep laying out the information that they have as best as they can. Yeah I know he's maybe not as requested as some characters. But he'd definetly has a following. Plus people for sure want him in. Hopefully some day. Also really like Grumbo's idea for alternate costumes. All really cool ideas plus of course he has the Superflame or Supercharge as a potential final smash.

So yeah lots of cool ideas. All around. Anyway that's enough about him putting focus back on Geno. Yeah despite any leaks I still have faith in his inclusion.,

I don't think there's anything wrong with asking for clarification on a leak he reported on. I'd just like to know the evidence laid out for it instead of taking it on faith, if said evidence can be revealed without jeopardizing anyone at any rate.

Yep. All that could be said has been said by them. We just take the latest information and politely wait until something else can come up. We're lucky we get this to begin with.

And that's why there was so much backlash concerning that bird. Its because people kept asking and asking, but even when info was given, people were obsessing and micromanaging it, asking court trial lawyer-level questions ('Was the message sent AM or PM, was it raining when he sent it, what did the image leaker have for breakfast?') It was getting aggravating to watch people go overboard on it and hound the insiders, particularly for info that was posted several times.

This isn't a murder investigation. Back off, please. Because if you push too much, you'll lose what you got. Soon they won't want to give out info.

Ah yes, the forbidden, never released Geno: Variant Series action figure; Thenos. By clenching the fist that equips the Gauntlet, it says "I am inevitable". It is rumored that once said action figure was possessed by a rogue star spirit, and manifested such monstrous power that dwarfed that of Smithy. No one knows what became of this doll however to this very day.

I agree, it feels a little off to call people out on something as harmless as tagging these guys on a message board. I log in to anywhere between 8 and 20+ notifications every day - most are likes, but it's easy to check which are quotes or mentions. It isn't like tagging them blows their phone up.

Honestly, I think the Grinch leak was a leak of the original roster. But then they changed the roster in development.

Oh yeah, they totally sat down after making this mural and say "you know what, let's cut these five characters and put Incineroar and Piranha Plant instead. Now it's Ultimate." This was always fake, learn from it.

It’s in his YouTube video descriptions. I don’t generally talk about this Mii Suit/Geno leak stuff on his Discord though, because there are so many anti-Geno toxic people there who will shame you for even thinking Geno is possible.

From what I understand it wasn't us that was the problem, but when it seeped out to the rest of the gaming sphere and social media was when it all went to hell. That said 99% of the time the question being asked was answered a few pages ago. I won't get on anyone's case for tagging but in almost every scenario the thing could be solved by just asking out loud in the thread and someone will always jump in to catch the others up.

Yep I think we should just leave them alone for now. There’s no need to tag them or talk to them on discord. We should just wait and see what happens. While I think the leak can be real I would not freak out if it is confirmed fake. Geno has a lot going for him right now. He’s got fatman sources saying good things about him, the music strikes, the missing Mii Costume, etc. So all and all there is no need to rush people to gain information. I believe it’s better to wait and see what happens rather then spam people for info. Heck sabi did not seem to happy to come here to clear up the fortnite thing. Let’s just leave them be for now.

For once wynn, I agree with you.
It just doesn't make sense for Sakurai to create a mural for characters that early in development. Why would Sakurai get so far and then scrap that many characters? Especially since Sakurai plans things so far in advance usually. That doesn't make much sense. I remember when people thought Nintendo cut Isaac because there were earthquakes around the September direct. Because yeah, that makes sense.

I would loved to get Shadow, but c'mon, people shouldn't be thinking this was ever real in any capacity.

Beware the Forests Mushrooms and Fight Against an Armed Boss are the most iconic to me and what I’m guessing would be the two songs coming with him. That said I’d like a more extreme remix of a song or two especially if they’re not what you’d think of as a battle song. I think the smash composers have done a great job of coming up with unexpected tracks.

yeah I still have no idea how the hell this could have happened, and exactly to the timing of the original direct date if I remember. This is probably the thing that will keep me wondering about what actually went down behind the scenes for as long as I care about smash.

This was just a huge, huge coincidence. An explanation on what happened with the website (I confirmed this myself back then). The banner itself is multiple images on the website, and there happens to be a split where that line is next to Isabelle. In theory, this allows the website team to only change the sections that need updating.

On that day, they uploaded the sections with new characters. They didn't immediately upload the adjacent sections that changed because of shifting characters. In addition, some users browsers may not have updated the new section images at the same time, so they saw that seam.

Now, the grinch leaker likely knew there was a seam there because they probably used the website banner images as their base. They just happened to draw isaac near one of those seams.

Tl;dr: coincidence and split website images

That's a fair assumption. One of the things that always got me about it was how clean everything seemed to be, like this guy could move characters almost wherever he wanted with very little trouble. Then again, it was scaled up and kind of blurry to begin with.

I'm never going to back down in the face of people who act like there was no reason to believe the "leak", though. The coincidences were nuts and the amount of work that went into it for no payoff but to make people upset is unfathomable.

Sabi's an investigative journalist irl so she's busy a lot and PapaGenos is currently trying to adjust to a new job and regularly create content so both have their hands full. As for me, I'm not an insider and I just kind of stick around because I don't want you all to be totally in the dark and am allowed to talk about things behind the curtain within set parameters. I talk with these guys and Sabi's other Generals of the Apocalypse ® so you all can have sort of a middle man because these guys tend to get overwhelmed really fast whenever they do make a "public" appearance. That said, be patient. The next big break will likely come with the 7/11 ad flip so we're probably like 2 weeks off from something significant at most.

Well, I wouldn't go that far but, truth is, they get bombed with tags and PMs everywhere and people know I sometimes get stuff wrong because I misinterpret stuff from them. I wouldn't call myself a fall guy but I do see myself as a little bit of a buffer, at least on Smashboards, so they're not continuously smothered in YouTube, Twitter, Discord, etc. Plus I like adding to their credibility and being able to "yup" and "nope" whenever they break big news so, again, I'm kind of a water boy for the big players in Smash speculation.
