I'm still not completely counting on Hayabusa being in. He very well could be but every single thing he's leaked has been for base game (Marx, Isabelle, Incineroar/Ken) or was planned for base game (Piranha Plant). Why do I mention that? Simple, Playtesters and this dudes sources could be such.

Would DLC need Playtesters? Well obviously but I doubt Hayabusa is far enough into development as to where he's able to be playtested, Maybe shown off but not playtested and we don't even know if they switched Playtesters for whatever reason.

This dudes sources could be a playtester and he hasn't gotten or even leaked any DLC so far why would they start now? And even if they aren't playtesters Incineroar/Ken were easy to guess.

It's definitely far from truth or fact and it could be fake. We're gonna have to wait and see. I'm not leaning towards one side or the other though.

I'm full in on thinking Google Theory has a chance of being real, also proves that what I've been saying was true. Really sucks that Geno ain't getting Smash Bros again, but that's all Sakurai's fault no matter how you look at it. I know when this is all over and there's no more DLC I'm gonna write to him to ask him to stop referencing Geno if he has no intention of ever putting him in. I'm sick of teasing with no payoff. Can't really believe he actually cares when I beat this horse a million times so what can one more hurt Piranha Plant is given priority of being playable and Geno lost his body to be a png file.

While I don¨t think Geno is dead because Ryu might be in (and this comes from someone that is indifferent about Ryu), the timing feels like its credible since he has a track record. Leaks often come out the most when a direct draw near... and we have an indication that there will be one next week. We really didn't need Verge to "confirm" it since we got that Switch case leaked and a release paper that said Overwatch for Switch and other games got leaked a few days and proven true by matching release days of games that were announce a day later. It's kind of like how Verge confirmed Janemba when Microsoft said he was coming in a video.

Tbh, I wouldn't mind Ryu. I loved the first Ninja Gaiden and he's one of the NES big shots, so he'd be a fair inclusion. If Google theory is true, however, it means that Doom Slayer is coming as well, and that gets me all sorts of excited. And even if Geno isn't in the pass there could always be a second one or bonus DLC.

I think Ryu Hayabusa would be an awesome addition to the fighters pass. The chance to get an actual Ninja character in Smash, throwing his ninja stars, wall jumping and all that other stuff. I think he will probably be designed to look one to one with his NES iteration.

If the Google Theory ends up being true then Geno's fate is:

1) As a Bonus character at the end of the fighters pass so he is not pressured by the fighters pass completion date.
2) In a second or third pass if the 16 WOL slots means more DLC.
3) He's not in the game at all and a Spirit is all we have.

I'm still not convinced in ryu yet especially.since shifty doesn't have a good dlc record from what I remember. That said google theory isnt technically dead yet.

Another interesting thing to think about though, did anyone find it odd how koei tecmo of all companies is the only 3rd party to support nes online beyond 0-2 tier 2 games? And not to mention the only one with their icon (ryu) present as well.

I'll say this. I'm not sure whether RyuH is in or not but I think it's such a massive decline from B&K that it makes sense. Nintendo makes terrible release decisions all the time. Then again, they didn't think B&K would be received as well as they did. I have no clue what this means for Geno... °^°

You do understand that when you Google something, Google takes bits and pieces like a goddamn internet stalker so that it can best serve you. For example, I look up video game OSTs/Anime OSTs a lot. One time I looked up the name of an anime that I couldn't quite remember and found what it was, then typed the name in the search and Google finished my search by adding 'music' at the end of my search because it KNOWS I look up music for these things and it filed that away. I've had lots of other times where Google has used my prior search history from as far as a month back to help me try and find what I want.

This is how a search engine works.

Now to take it to a more public setting, popular things on the internet become hot topics. This is why when you google 'smash bros ultimate' or just 'smash bros' you can sometimes get names for characters not confirmed in the game at that time because they are talked about. I'm giving you an example from my own browser search, and I need you to understand that...

1. I never grew up with Ninja Gaiden and I don't really care about the series, thus I have limited interaction with searching about it and
2. I haven't searched about it at ALL during the whole 'Google Theory' craze nor during that 5chan 'leak', and this is my first time typing anything into a search bar today as I saw papagenos video on a youtube tab I already had open.

When you google something that should be marketed with an ad, even if you are talking about something that is nothing but theory, you should still get an ad promoting whatever that is. For example, if I google 'Walmart Controversy' I should still get an ad talking about Walmart or if I google 'GameStop is dying' I should still get ads for GameStop. Why? Because that's how ads work! If a company pays money to have their ad in a search engine and you hit those keywords in your search, IT DOES NOT MATTER WHAT ELSE IS IN YOUR SEARCH! You still hit those keywords, and thus that ad should display itself, barring small hiccups or an ad blocker of course.

Smash Ultimate is HUGE and still has things you can purchase, so OF COURSE they would advertise for you to by it whenever you search about Smash Ultimate. I find it strange how so many people can use something and not understand how it works: search engines are MADE to help you find what you are looking for and companies WANT you to find their ads in the hopes of clicking on them and maybe even buying something.

That wasn't directed to you. I was just asking MattX20 where they heard that Sabi said Ryu Hayabusa will not be shown in the direct along with Vergeben as I searched their profiles and found nothing that said what he said.

Anyway I still think the Google Theory could have potentially revealed the entire fighters pass regardless if it's credible or not. Hero is the only one that makes it a little shaky but I don't believe that Artorias was really part of the google theory as people had a difficult time trying to figure out the last character.

Dunno who this Shifty is, so I'm not about to place my chips on them yet. Also, two things that are a teeny bit irksome to me:

1) Are we really touching Google theory again lol? Like. Why.
2) The peregrine falcon thing is a pretty big stretch. I'm sure there are people who would be like, "LOL YOU RELATE THE STARLING TO GENO, THAT'S AN EVEN BIGGER STRETCH! DELUSIONAL!" but hear me out.

In fact, I'd apply that thinking to Jill Valentine, as well, as her equation is also not a stretch.

The source noted that if they wanted to reference the Black Eagles, they'd use an image of a black eagle. If they wanted to reference the peregrine falcon, I'm sure they would have used, well... a peregrine falcon. The bird type is important, not the bird type relating to another bird type relating to a character. That's a massive leap.

Now, hypothetically, if we got Ryu Hayabusa, I think that'd be pretty cool. He's one of the last big NES OGs we're missing. I don't have any personal attachment to Ninja Gaiden and am generally quite 'meh' on it, but he'd be nice to see. If the next character is Ryu, I'm very chill with that, and that honestly makes my retro-loving heart sing.

... Still hope that it's Geno, though, by some miracle.

Tracer and Ryu weren't deconfirmed.... They weren't even leaked for that matter....people were just speculating. Why are people acting like branching out to wanting characters that aren't constantly talked about as a bad thing?

To be fair, Chrom WAS planned to be playable in 4 according to the project plan, and there was an unused Rhythm Heaven logo too, so Gematsu was based on mostly outdated info if anything. Shulk still happened

IIRC, the guy who claimed Hayabusa said he would be the very next character revealed but I don't know if he specifically mentioned the upcoming Direct rumored for next week. If next week there isn't a reveal, then there's the possibility that he could be right.
