No, that's not remotely fair. They dropped a massive update and brand new character the week of EVO, they didn't deserve the expectation of an announcement after that (Mortal Kombat announced stuff earlier in the week for example, so there wasn't an expectation of announcements here as far as I'm aware).

Edit: I want to make it very clear I'm not trying to gloat or anything even remotely close to that, I just don't want people upset at Nintendo for not having an announcement here.
