No one expected them to spend 20 minutes talking about how the brightness worked. This is giving me: “It’s 40 minutes, so seven characters makes sense” vibes from November

That’s kind of my point. Time doesn’t tell us anything special about the presentation. No one expected them to spend 20 minutes talking about how the brightness worked.
I think context is key. One can expect a lot of information in a direct. This video just seems like it's going to be Sakarai casually talking in front of the camera for 25 minutes fanboying over Hero. I personally wouldn't expect any more information than what the tweet told us. I just think using a smash direct as an example of getting expectations too high it's kind of not fair in this case because of the nature of this video. That’s kind of my point. I mean, if anything, it’s more fair since a full on Direct (the absolute highest pinnacle of Nintendo announcements if you will) being 40 minutes didn’t actually inform us as to what to expect, so a small presentation with a clearly defined narrow focus tells us even less.I think context is key. You don't have to worry because every other English speaking Nintendo twitter has already said it'll be 22 minuteshttps://mobile.twitter.com/SmashBrosJP/status/1155645624903065600
I hope this 22 mins thing is not just a mistranslation.
Hey, if anything, I admire that outlook and wish I felt the same way. You do you, my dude, and remember that we're all in this together. Let's hope for the best.Literally no one in here can tell me not to be excited for Tuesday. I don’t give a **** if y’all want to be negative but don’t go telling me I shouldn’t be excited over something. I know exactly what I’m signing up for.
That's good. You don't have to worry because every other English speaking Nintendo twitter has already said it'll be 22 minutes
Not sure. I guess we'll have to see if the presentation is as straight forward as it sounds.Fatmanonice What do you suppose the chances are that this is what the otterposting was for?
Aw, it's just gonna be a cute, unscripted thing. Kinda doubting we'll see more than just Hero gameplay and details then, honestly, perhaps not even any Mii costumes yet.
Like I suspected, it's probably him gushing on about how much he loves dragon quest for 22 minutes. :V
So probably no mii costumes then? It sounds like he's literally just gonna play it for a bit and release the date. Do NOT cuck us again sakurai.
So VR Plant was right... This is kind of a personal presentation that Sakurai was in charge of setting up himself. Sakurai hasn't done something like this in quite a long time.
I mean, if there’s nothing related to the Starling in the hero reveal, then it has to come from somewhere, right? You know, come to think of it, now that we are likely to know that they're not announcing Hero's date at EVO, what is going to happen at EVO then? Another case of nothing happening at the end like with the SP2/Ultimate/Mario Tennis Aces tournaments?
What did VR plant say? Any details? So VR Plant was right... This is kind of a personal presentation that Sakurai was in charge of setting up himself. Sakurai hasn't done something like this in quite a long time.
Basically that there was a lot of evidence in the data that Sakurai probably managed the creation of this presentation himself and that it was done fairly recently. I talked about this the other day but, with Directs, they usually take a month to make along with editing and post production. This is very different and could also explain why the video is very heavily encrypted. What did VR plant say? Any details?
I am sure it's a video of his best take, which so happened to be 22 minutes long.Limited time but no scripts. Weird. But I still wouldn't sleep on possible Mii fighter costumes.
Probably not I would think. Unless Nintendo really wants to cash in on Evo and do a Joker/Robin style trailer drop way ahead of time.So are we or are we not probably getting a Direct announcement at EVO with this Hero presentation thing?
Sakurai: I hope you all enjoy playing as the Hero, or Heroes I should say, and [insert name of new mode here]. Once again, thank you very much for your support. So VR Plant was right... If something still happens at EVO, it'll probably just be a trailer drop like Robin got back in 2014, not a whole presentation. So are we or are we not probably getting a Direct announcement at EVO with this Hero presentation thing?
Yeah, I think that could be the case. Given how there were barely, if any fighter reveals at EVO in the past, though, I wouldn’t count on it.If something still happens at EVO, it'll probably just be a trailer drop like Robin got back in 2014, not a whole presentation.
