I’m having trouble posting an image on here, but there is a scene during Geno’s introduction in Super Mario RPG where Mario and Mallow are surrounded by birds... I figured I’d bring it up in case it hadn’t been discussed yet.

I should clarify that whilst I don't think TALON THEORY is true, I do find it interesting that reverse image searching brings up no other results regarding the Starling photo (I encourage everyone to reverse search for themselves, perhaps using multiple reverse search engines because I didn't really use anything besides Google). If this truly is a unique photo, then that's a bit curious, because why not just use a picture of any Starling?

Fatmanonice when Sabi's source shared the image of the Crab, was that a unique photo as well, as far as you know?

To break this down further if we can all agree that this is a starling then we can agree a Resident Evil Rep or Velvet Crowe shouldn’t be the hint here since the bird isn’t a crow. Second off if it were Nakoruru I’m not sure if a hawk would have given it a way but the bird specifically being a starling makes me think it might not be the case. And with the fact that Fatman has said they are Geno supporters it would make since to make the hint as discrete as possible to avoid making a uproar.

Zema Yeah and that was frustrating too. We couldn't backsearch it all. It wound up being a very specific beach that was famous for its crabs called Kep Beach in goddamn Cambodia...The problem with this is that European starlings are so common that many environmentalists define them as a pest. In most temperate places in America and Europe, you can go outside and probably see dozens in like an hour on a sunny day. Based on where he lives, he could have easily looked out his window and taken this picture. That's how irksome it is if it really is a hint.

It's a shame that the bird in question isn't a peregrine falcon or a sparrow, at least then we'd know that a Metal Slug character would come.

Long story short: Sabi's NOA Source just shadow dropped a picture of a Starling on a roof in the private Geno Discord. He has dropped pics before that hinted at something Nintendo. First was the blue crab (Link's Awakening), second was a literal bear and bird along with another pic of a witch with the word Puzzle (Banjo & Kazooie). Now we have this picture with no context. Do not know if it is for Smash or another Nintendo thing.

Sabi's source still isn't answering our messages so he has some explaining to do if if was a complete and total troll. The problem is that he's done this before. He did it with the crabs too. All his previous random pics have been hints to something and, especially now that Sabi can't even publically talk about Nintendo stuff anymore, why would we sabotage a year's worth of trust? It's kind of character suicide and honestly would be pretty dumb since we literally know his real name and have gone out of our ways to protect his identity this whole time.

Has he posted Meme stuff before with y'all? This is a legit question by the by. Guess I imagine if he did, he would have text with those, to say this is a joke, instead of just shadow dropping this bird pic as well as the others (I imagine).

EDIT: Has he interacted with y'all outside of just posting these pics?

Phoenix Wright is definitely a real possibility as most of Sabi’s other images haven’t been much more direct and I sincerely doubt the intentionality of the whole “starling” thing that people are putting fourth right now based upon the fact that Sabi’s other hints have been much more straightforward and the species of the bear and bird didn’t matter.

Sure, there’s danger in throwing all your chips into starling being an intentional clue...But I think the opposite reaction isn’t very valid either.

I don’t know the insider, but based on what I’ve been told, he’s a very intentional guy. He’s not one to push out a clue that would give false hope. He’s way too careful for that.

Yes, people can stretch any clue into Half Life 3 confirmed, but that’s not what we’re seeing here. This isn’t another Chair Theory. You don’t have to move Heaven and Earth to connect the name of the bird to Geno, at least as a possible connection.

Everyone involved in the Smash speculation scene (let alone the Smash leaker scene) knows about the Geno discussion. Especially this guy, who (if I understand correctly) is himself a Geno fan. And like I said, he’s intentional. He knows what kind of bird that is. And people using the kind of bird as a clue is a very obvious thread to follow. He knows this. So I don’t think he’s gonna throw breadcrumbs in the wrong direction just to misdirect fans.

Again, not saying people should expect Geno at this point. But I think it’s very valid to look at the starling piece as a clue. To think otherwise would be saying that this guy somehow didn’t know what kind of bird was in the picture, or that he simply put it in there as a smokescreen...Neither of which seem very consistent with his style.

Oh no, we have normal conversations. He's an awesome guy and I honestly wouldn't be surprised if he wound up with something like his own TV show someday. A lot of times it's just normal back and back forth but sometimes he'll just bust in, make a super bold statement or drop a picture and then not talk to any of us for days afterwards. When he does jokes, he typically responds immediately and fully let's us know he's messing around. Yeah, he's kind of eccentric but in a sense that you'd be an idiot if he was your friend and you didn't invite him to every party you had.

Feels like a lot of this is hanging on the fact that it's a starling, but what if it was just a photograph of a bird he was sharing? As in, not taking into consideration what kind of bird it was, but hinting at something else entirely? I know some have asked this question already but I do kind of wonder if we just won't know until the news of whatever it is drops and we'll only know by then what this was all about.

I feel like the hint almost has to be smash related given that we just had e3. If a general direct soon was plausible then I would think it could be hinting at a new Star fox game, but I'm pretty sure the only direct that might be soon is a game specific one. And the only announced game that Sabi's source hints at is smash. And quite honestly, Geno is the best fitting character for this hint by far. I don't want to get my hopes up, but it's starting to look pretty good.

Something else I want to stress is that I feel like the guy relates to us pretty well in that character disconfirmations suck and he had to carry around the knowledge for basically four months that his most wanted character probably wasn't going to make it but really couldn't tell anyone, kind of quietly hoping against the odds that his own sources were miraculously wrong. That's why if Geno really is just a Mii costume and he knows, he's probably just going to flat out tell us.

The bird could be in the exact same position of the crab. Being that they both represent set dressing related to each characters introduction.
