Dear god, no, save the new FE characters for the next game when all the guff is cut down, and only if the other classes finally get some representation. (Where are my staff users at, Nintendo?! I love me my staff users!)
Not concretely but, like I said, based on the current release schedule, Fire Emblem: Three Thrones is coming out next week and Hero's probably going to drop by the end of the month. Beyond that, Nintendo's release schedule is kind of bare until September. Brass tacks, we just know that it's a hint towards an upcoming Nintendo announcement given the source.

I feel like this wouldn't be outside of Sabi's source to be this on the nose about it (note his Banjo hints). As you said, "ling" is a suffix for something small so a "starling" would, at face value, be a small star, which Geno's real form is. Still, I don't know but Sabi's source really isn't one for jerking people around either. The guy has a history of trying to let fanbases down easily because he knew most, if not all, of the ATs by the K. Rool Direct last year and tried to get people to curb their expectations with certain characters for literally months but was kind of between a rock and hard place by not being allowed to flat out say they weren't going to make it.
Them not being able to say anything is what made the whole Grinch Hoax debacle so awful. The only one who said anything was Vergeben about Isaac. I mean, he also said he didn't think Geno was in, but that's his opinion, and I don't remember him every saying otherwise. I feel bad for the guy. Imagine if he can could say a lot more so people could get the disappointment out of their systems far earlier than the actual reveal.
Verge did it as a middle finger to the Isaac fanbase because it was the biggest fanbase he could piss off that he had sufficient evidence that they weren't playable. Verge specifically did this to be a **** and has kind of gone into detail how much he resents the Smash fanbase as a whole. It was his equivalent of throwing a hand grenade in a hen house before the last Smash Direct happened.
It's also the only thing that was remotely convincing other than a bad background used for the hoax.
To be fair with Verg, the guy always insists that he dumps information for everyone's interest, not with any other agendas in mind. Hell, he was bugged by Polar' accusation of stealing info, since he doesn't think leakers to be competing for attention.
Yeah the Isaac situation with Vergeben didn’t seem all that malicious. It was a pretty straight forward, he’s an AT and moved along. He’s had some frustrating stuff and he’s been a bit of an ass as you’ve said, but I wouldn’t say he’s ever been an excessively vengeful or malicious person in what he’s done.
Worst is replies to those harassing him at best. Doesn't justify any of the **** he said, but it didn't come out of nowhere either. People will lash out if they're getting harassed. It's a two-way street.
I do agree that it was probably retaliatory because, in many ways, the Smash fanbase has been awful to him too. I have mixed feelings on the topic, especially with how Verge acted in the aftermath of the Grinch Leak and his now infamous rant.
The thing is, while a chunk of the Smash fanbase loudly despises anime, swordsmen and anime swordsmen, Dragon Quest could have had worse responses to it but people mostly understood what a big name series it is. It helped temper dislike. That, and adding Banjo.
I think in the end, neither those Smash fanbase users or Vergeben can claim the moral high ground.
By the fact both young link and toon link exist as separate entities, Zelda has had a new character since melee, it’s just another link.
Man, I admit that a lot of the characters in Three Houses looks good and I am excited to play it, but I don't want a Three Houses character in Smash Bros just yet. It's too new and we don't know much about it. Plus seeing how the ARMS series and Rex & Pyra are unable to get into Smash Bros now because their game got released in 2017 makes me instantly not want any new game character that comes out in 2019. That's just not fair.
This. Rex as a costume was definitely a bitter pill to swallow for a lot of people and Spring Man/Ribbon Girl kind of sucked too so getting characters that the public didn't know about until 2018 would be pretty brutal. Plus, I don't think FE needs the extra help. It's arguably an A tier game now thanks to Smash so it could easily be said that it's out grown purely premotional characters.
Agreed. As much as my gay ass already loves Edelgard and wants to date the heck out of her (isn't she going to canonically be able to be romanced by at least one female character in the game?! Is it fem!Byleth?), keep her far away from Smash Ultimate. Any future stuff? Sure, go for it. Smash 6 would be a way better time for her or another FE rep. Now... would not be a great time at all.
Yes, Edelgard can be romanced by fem!Byleth.
Stretch your quads, YOUR QUADS!! But actually...That isn't to out of the realm of possibility. It could also just mean new Pokemon news, though we did get some news within this last week. Who knows.
Yeah, another Fire Emblem character would be alright at a later date, but Three House needs to come out out and leave an impression. Like during the entire Smash Bros speculation when it comes to Three Houses there were a lot that people didn't know, like Byleth was the main character while Edelgard was a major character but not the main character, the five year time skip, and Byleth with a whip sword and time manipulation?(I haven't been keeping up with Three Houses news, trying to go in blind). There was so much we didn't know about Three Houses so it needs to wait until next Fighter Pass for a character to get in, only after Rex and an ARMS rep get in.
I guess if there's a general direct it could be plausible. Though I do remember Masuda saying something about there being no plans for a new snap.
