I mean, heartwarming stuff is great, yeah. Heck, I can even go with romance if it's done right, but I'm hard-pressed to see Geno with anyone. I believe in him being ace. He just isn't the type to want to be romantically involved. (If anything, he's married to his duty.)

That being said, though, no lewds. No. Never. At least, I'm pretty sure that's what everyone is insinuating for the most part... and that is a big no-no. Geno is a good boy. Do not lewd the good boy.

It's going to be weird to see tons of people shipping Geno after a hypothetical reveal. That is a universal truth of post reveal reaction, especially when art is taken into account. I mean, Geno isn't typically shipped as of now, right?

There are two slots left; we'll have a definitive answer by the end of the year at the latest.

Either way, we'll all still keep up hope and still keep on truckin'; even if we have to prep to start campaigning for a second DLC fighter pack or for Smash 6, none of us intend to just give up.

I'm continuously impressed with Nintendo's fanbase's ability to sexualize virtually any character within minutes of its debut. Granted, it's nothing new. Nude mods of Lara Croft literally go back to the first PC version in the 90's and rumors of being able to gollywhomp Zelda/Peach/Samus if you beat games under certain (practically impossible) conditions were around when I was in elementary school so it's a definite testament that the thirst never ends.

The Trailer starts with Mario waking up at the bottom of a pit. The sound of battle is going on above. Next to him is Megaman unconscious. We then see Zamus come flying down with Ridley diving at her and knocking her out. (Continuation of the Ridley trailer). Mario, still without his hat, gets up and starts to fight. We get a shot of his hat on the floor and see a hand pick it up. Mario is on the ropes, when suddenly we see a beam shoot across at Ridley, sending him flying. Mario looks around...its not Megaman....its not Zamus...Instead we see a look of surprise and joy when Geno arrives and hands Mario his hat back.
Que fighter showcase and tag. Ends with a heartfelt reunion between Geno and Mario.

Now with this dream out of my head, it dawned on me that Mario has been suspiciously absent in MOST of the reveal trailers in Ultimate.
Compared to Sm4sh, he was in the bulk of them. With the announced trailer with Villager, Megaman, WiiFitTrainer, Charizard/Greninja, Bowser Jr, etc.
Yet in Smash Ultimate he was featured mostly in Ridley's....AND THAT IS IT. I am not counting Piranha Plant because it was not a CGI trailer.

This got me thinking...And then it hit me. So far, outside of PPlant, The Fighter's Pass has been HEROES.

Joker being along the lines of an anti-hero. The Hero, as the name suggests. And of course Banjo & Kazooie as the unlikely hero.
-Also, outside of Joker, It showed that some of the All Stars needed help. Link with his fight and Donkey Kong with getting rid of K.Rool from his home (lol)

ALSO ALSO, looking back at Ultimate's Trailers, it starts with Baddies taking over (Ridley and K.Rool) and now HEROES are coming out of the woodwork to help the Nintendo all stars out (The Hero and Banjo & Kazooie).

I personally wouldn't think too much into it, but god almighty, that'd be amazing if that happened. Plus, it would make sense to bring Geno in during Ridley's trailer as a fan service option, given they were both very big in the Brawl days.

And this game is very fan service-y. With Banjo & Kazooie being in, I would not put it pass them to have a reunion like the bear and bird got with Diddy and Donkey Kong.

I don’t know if it’s strictly a color thing but I do think the FP characters were partly chosen on a basis of being significantly aesthetically different from one another just looking at the 3 that we currently know of.

I see what you're saying, but I mean, look at the roster itself. Pretty much everyone, save the echoes, are significantly aesthetically different. That kind of an observation doesn't really say much.

Hey guys, so my first post that was only two words got marked as spam by mods, so for those of you who where hoping for less wordy posts from me I've basically been encouraged not to. I mean, I quoted my post from the past, so shouldn't that technically go towards the word count? I digress.

I had this super-long post that went into the math of the number of female characters in Smash and how they make up a third of the roster and all this stuff, but that topic has set sail so I'll let it continue to sail away rather than bring it back to port. However...there is one thing I can't let go...

Your desire for new characters can also be informed by a lack of representation. Maybe the people who wanted Videl in the game also noted the huge lack of female characters in Dragon Ball on top of really liking her. I know I did, at any rate.

And lol at pretending Master Roshi and Kid Hecking Goku the Seventh are more worthy than Kefla.

I hate to say this (not really though), but if you think Master Roshi is worth less in terms of character than Kefla, you need to stop what you are doing and go watch Dragon Ball all over again on Funimation. Master Roshi is one of the most iconic and important characters in Dragon Ball, and he's still relevant even in Super. He trained Goku, is the one who showed him the Kamehameha Wave for him to learn, was the one who gave him the Nimbus, and still has things to teach him even today.

Kefla is just a stupidly-overpowered fusion due to narrative plot purposes that combines two female Saiyans. She was nothing but a manufactured wall for Goku to crap all over to work on mastering Ultra Instinct. Now I need you to understand, I like Caulifla and Kale...for the most part. I hate how they basically turn the Super Saiyan transformation into even more of a joke and I dislike how strong they get to be for free when their race knew mostly peace and they have very little depth, but I dig their designs and it's cool to have more female saiyans. Their fusion though? It felt like hollow fan service, but I'm also very critical of most of Super during the Tournament of Power as Jiren was a horribly generic villain among many other issues.

I will recognize that Kefla is #2 on that list and that the overwhelming support for a female saiyan simply because they are female is there, which while I disagree with the reasoning I cannot deny the impact or support. This is why I wanted Videl: I have always loved her character since I was young and she was a bit of an inspiration being just a simple human yet becoming pretty strong. I hoped that the dev team would pick her over Kefla because Videl has more of a character and more of a moveset to pull from in terms of uniqueness. And...I got just that!

Look at who is #1 though...yeah, the fanbase REALLY wants Roshi, and for good reasons: he can have a deceptive stance playstyle and offers a crazy arsenal to build around, he has nostalgia factor AND he's a badass old man.

But, if it's okay to just want a character for "diversity sake" then as it turns out, we have no old men in FighterZ...so he fills that niche! Gotta represent the elderly, YO!

Now I want to respond to some of the theories, and I don't think any of them are too amazing in terms of being solid, but I'm digging the creativity. We've got one on Colors and one on Partners? Does The Hero really have a partner though? Idk man, but I encourage you all to keep theorizing because people come up with cool stuff.

So I'm thinking about letting you guys choose what I stream next. I'm really enjoying FF7 so far (just got through Sector 6 and all the crazy sexual shenanigans there, wOOOOOOOO buddy) but I also still want to play Banjo-Kazooie and maybe one of the Paper Mario games.

I want you guys to recommend which game. Keep in mind I have to emulate it, so if it doesn't have a good ROM I can't do it.

Also, everyone had some nice dreams about Geno last night, but mine left a lot to be desired. It was the reveal of his Mii costume returning with 'improvements' and a second version, basically hammering in that he was not happening this time. Everyone was despairing and... also kinda angry because the 'improvements' were weird and awful. The first version of the Mii outfit featured options to put 'Geno' in some kind of armor, enough to put bulky knights from Fire Emblem's old GBA era to shame. You could dress him up to be like... a ninja or something, too? It was like Ryu Genobusa or some ****. The second option was the option to dress your Mii as Geno's cannon form, which could also turn into a tank. (Welp, one of my actual concepts made it into a dream, so that's a thing. I mentioned tank Geno a couple of pages ago.) All of this... and nothing to actually look like the real Geno. The 'improvements' made his Mii costume options even LESS like Geno.

They were aware of the backlash it'd get, apparently, so they only had this as a shadow drop while they talked about some Star Wars game Square Enix was working on? Apparently, some random CEO at Square was the reason why Geno was staying as a Mii costume and would never be playable, because he personally didn't like the character and didn't want him used again as a result. People were, needless to say, insanely outraged.

It was such a crazy dream, the polar opposite of y'all and your Geno dreams. Smash and Mario Kart inclusions? Sign me up. I'd rather dream about that over something like... whatever the heck my dream was.

I think a LITTLE bit of individual DLC outside of the pass is likely, depending on how Nintendo responds to fan demand. Otherwise, I'm really not holding my breath. In terms of a new season pass, I think that would be highly unlikely.

I don't know about any further DLC, so I'm just hoping that the remaining two characters are good and that the next Smash comes out soon.

I don't think we're getting another Fighters Pass but I wouldn't be surprised if we had one or two more DLC fighters after this one is wrapped up maybe like Geno and an Echo fighter or Assist Upgrade like Waluigi/Isaac if we don't get Geno in the Fighters Pass but I do not know I'm not getting my hopes up for extra DLC after the pass.

Speaking of the Pass though I feel like Sakurai and Nintendo are more so going for the "Never Ask Me for anything ever again" route than anything which is one of the reasons why I feel like Geno has a good shot.

We have Joker and guess what? He was more than likely a Sakurai influenced pick plus he was somewhat requested maybe not as much as Banjo/Geno/Isaac or so on was/are but I saw him appear once or twice in fan polls.

We have Erdrick/Hero and guess what? We can more than likely assume that Japan went out in droves to vote for a Dragon Quest Rep in the Ballot and it just so happens that we now have one.

We now have Banjo and guess what? He was a never-ever super popular long time requested character, Nobody thought he would get in and to the point that Banjo's support thread was called "Project Dream" he was seen as a Pipe Dream but it just so happens that we have him now!

I think Sakurai really is going for the "Never Ask me for anything ever again" approach and who's the last long running fan favorite character that's stuck in limbo? Geno. I feel like if Sakurai and Nintendo can get Geno they absolutely would.

And I think at this point Sakurai deserves to get Geno after doing so much for Nintendo and making one of it's best selling franchises in not only Smash but also Kirby. I think Nintendo owes him one and what better way to repay that than to add the one character he has been wanting for more than a decade and over three games now.

And I feel like Geno is the last character that is truly missing making this game so close to that perfect "Never ask me for anything ever again" game, I feel like without Geno this game really wouldn't reach that peak ultimate game and I sure hope Sakurai feels that way too. I think it's likely he does anyways.

I feel if that is the case, Geno will be an individual fighter. But then again...would Square be satisfied with just that? I mean could they have negotiated for Cloud in base for just Dragon Quest as DLC? This could be the first time seeing two characters from one creator getting in as DLC.

I know some people are scared of Fire Emblem reps getting used for the pass, but I do not see it. And the example I have is what I used against Steve.

If we were getting Steve in Smash, I think they would have used the cross play for Minecraft between Xbox and Switch to promote him. Or have a big segment for Dungeons to show him off.

If Fire Emblem rep was going to happen, I think they missed their chance. With the announcement of Two fighters in the pass, I doubt we will see the 4th fighter announced close to The Three Houses release.

I mean, everyone kept saying how it only made sense to reveal Erdrick in the segment they had back in the February Direct for Dragon Quest and he didn't show up to E3. Banjo Kazooie also came with straight nothing new anywhere else. And they didn't even announce the Persona 5 Warriors spin-off until late April, after he was already playable and had been announced months earlier with it likely being months away still.

There's basically no trend of characters reveals in the DLC having to do with the "most sensible moment" or "cross promotional specifics." Dragon Quest 11 is the closest you can get, and The Hero really holds up the entire series as opposed to just 11. And to be honest, DQ11 was the first game announced for the NX, so it was always going to be a big deal having the mainline Dragon Quest games come back to Nintendo's main console and get that kind of advertisement.

So, while I completely believe that we won't see a Fire Emblem rep in this DLC cycle (or first parties in the Fighter's Pass at this point), I also would advise against the logic of "they'll announce them specifically to coincide with release X or Y/give them bigger segments" as the counter argument for those characters.

If we do get another fighter's pass, I would imagine it would be a smaller one, like 3 instead of 5. If not then maybe we'll see individual packs. Or maybe we'll even see another bonus fighter or two along with our current fighter. At the very least it would be nice to get a few echo fighters,

We'll see though. I could just as easily see the fighter's pass we have now being all we get for Ultimate.

I agree with you I really feel like we should focus on our remaining 2 characters before moving onto Post-Fighters Pass if there even is one. I feel like there may be one but I haven't heard any super solid argument for it while the opposite side of not having one makes sense so we don't even know if there will or won't be one.

Let's focus on the remaining two characters first and foremost.
