When I was at the hotel last time there was 1 tv in each room.

Also it would be nice to get the dates SSB will be going on as Im sure that it wont be a 3 day thing maybe a day at most.

i want to go to this but seeing as i really don't know anyone outside of kaillera chat and occasional stream chat...ill probly only go if i can get 64 smashers to share a room with and/or play hella friendlies with while the tourney isn't running.
if possible by the airline, ill most likely bring my n64 with 4 controllers and usa+Japanese smash carts for the friendlies.

any takers for sharing a room? (i dont snore LOL)

You and Isai both would be more then welcome to stay with me and Kefit. We will see if we can get a big room with a few beds and have some SSB going on . Aslo on a side note we may even rent a car when we are there so Ill be sure to take a GPS with me so we dont get lost lol.

I dont mind hosting as I have tio tourmament organizer and it works really well for bulding brackets and stuff. Only thing I may need is help geting matches going. Someone who can YELL over everyone so that the players know they need to play a match.

ok so, last night we went over pricing details again for the millionth time, and again we got stuck when it came to 64..

SOO... i decided to just ask you guys.

for singles, we were thinking since there are so many people traveling to this, $10 would be too little.
$20 MIGHT be too expensive, BUT.. since genesis is all about being epic, a fat cash prize for 64 would be pretty sweet.

We ultimately settled on $15 for singles, $10 for teams (per person). I want to hear some opinions on this, and if $20, $15/per person would be to expensive or not.

i would like to do 20/15 but i also dont want to push away some people from entering due to the uncommonly high price of entry. which is why we settled on 15/10.

but yeah let me know =) i wanna hear what you guys have to say about it

The 64 players are mostly gonna like high prices. Entrance fees are chicken**** next to hotels and flights and whatever, and we all wanna see good people make money for some odd reason.

The question is, will melee/brawl people still join? Lots of participants is more important than sweet cash prizes.

Personally, 15/10 seems OK to me... I'm kinda ambivalent.

that was the other thing we discussed. if we had it at 20/15, it would most likely push away a lot of the impulse entrants, which is a lot of money lost for the pot.

but then again, at 15/10 im not sure if theyd enter with that price either.. hmm

With this being big and players coming out of state for this I would have this at $15 per player that could make pay outs good if alot of players enter and make players who fly out for this a shot at winning some of the money back that they had to use for flying there.

Right, but would we actually make less money that way, what with the drop in "impulse entrants" as side-fx terms them? We have to look at the example of the less-cool east-coast version of Genesis, Apex, where they had a very respectable turnout for 64, due mostly to impulse entries which could be traced back to small entrance fees.

Perhaps someone could ask the opinion of the Melee/Brawl people, see how many of them would go if the entry fee were X amount of money.

PS has anyone figured out how to hook N64 controllers up to a Wii. Lagless 2 vs 2 would be something incredible.

Ben/Nate - I can give you guys my Pikachu N64 (it hold magical powers within the glowing cheeks) and I am going to get a nice small 27 inch tv. Since I am flying I can not take the TV without it being destroyed (Trust me, I handle luggage), IF you guys had space in whatever vehicles you are taking could you bring the TV if it is absolutely needed?

I am bringing my camera to record any matches. I have a Macbook Pro and EyeTV Plus to hook up to televisions and record matches if anyone wants something recorded.
