Not useless, but useful, it forces her to float or stay away.
If she floats atleast towards you, or close enough to a platform you can hit her with IB(unless very far away), also possible to interupt the fair with blizzard(which adjusts her offensive angle) to an interupting Iceblock and maybe a possibility to work from there.

Please, guys, critique me mercilessly. :bee:

At 0:24 you shouldn't get hit by the Up air, just DI up and jump
1:16 Again
2:04 don't let him gimp your nana like that =o

Was too lazy to watch the end, I assume that Cactuar has a good Fox, maybe better than Doraki's but not than Zgetto I guess.
During the whole match you've been dominated, he was just jumping in you with D air, Shine, B air, Shine etc etc etc... You should try more Blizzard to make him stop those silly approaches, if you get him in your down B then Grab and DON'T MISS THE CHAINGRAB, you can also try spaced B air but it's hard, you did one good with your Sopo on your second stock if I remember well. If you manage to do this, 2 possibilities:
1- He's good, he's gonna change his style and make more camping.
2- He's stubborn he'll continue and you'll win

If 1, then good luck, try to predict his jump and punish them with U air, if 2 then you learned how to chaingrab in serious matchs with stress and you got better against fox so I don't have any advice

LOL, my laser-interrupted synced blizzard idea actually works. If you're facing backwards and a Falco who is kind of far from you is shooting a laser, wavedash towards him and do the synced blizzard on the ground; the laser will hit Popo and Nana will blizzard towards Falco.

edit: Oh yeah, having Nana blizzard when Popo is in hitstun from a laser also works fine, as I've probably tested before. I don't know why I thought of that second since it's probably way more useful than the first thing I mentioned.

More wavejab -> grab!

Also, why did you mess up so many d-throw -> up-smashes on Jigglypuff?
I was failing dthrow>usmash because I was set on Marth timing. I assure you it is not normally a problem =D

He SDI's the jab>grab alot, I have more luck with jab>chase roll really.

Just use those Ice moves vs Luigi

face backwards so he can't attack your shield for free, if he does something laggy on shield you can smack him with that super strong bair

if you ever manage to grab him you can get like 50 percent at least with some sort of grab -> usmash -> uairs -> more uairs to abuse his bad aerial mobility type thing

just some thoughts from Luigi's point of view, idk if it's in Luigi's favor or not but I doubt it's not one of the more difficult matchups in the game

I would switch the numbers for Ganon and Samus, and I think ICs/Luigi is even (agree with everything Gustav Wind said).

i think ics beats luigi if u play it right lols

just dont let him get close son

i have a certain mindset now for any character that's not falcon that doesn't have projectiles:

hide behind nana's blizzard

works always

puff ganon marth luigi dk zelda

have yet to try against roy

works somewhat against sheik and falcon but they are really fast and they can get through

i guess luigi has fireball but that sucks

basically i beat those chars without using grabs. but if u can grab them more power to u lol

i was beating GKL (merced's iceys, idk if you've ever met him yet), but the matchup is hard, maybe you'd be more of a challenge! :)

edit: i think imma write a thread on baits soon hehe

they gave me the edge in the last tournament i played in

Ok I need help. I am not an Ice Climbers main, I am a Kirby main. Ice climbers however are in the top five characters that murder my Kirby. I need help with this match up and I am not getting an answer that is detailed enough to help out on the Kirby boards so I am posting here. So Ice Climber mains what would you do to murder Kirby (So I can think of the counter plan.)

Thank you for helping me out with the Kirby vs Ice Climbers match up in advance. (If you could give me Anti-Ice Climbers stages as well that would be very ICE get it ICE haha it's funny because it is ICE.)

I would probably shield-camp a lot and occasionally approach with fsmash or jab -> dsmash/grab. I'd roll back -> blizzard if I ever feel a lot of pressure on my shield, although I don't think Kirby is capable of applying all that much pressure. I wouldn't usually edgeguard very aggressively since I see no need to do anything risky against Kirby when he's already in a bad position when off-stage or on the edge. I'm not sure what else I'd do; it seems like a really simple match-up.

Andre, after seeing the results from that tourney and watching losers semis and finals of doubles, I would say that if Fresno is the EC of California, then Modesto is the Midwest.

I played Laijin's young link in a single friendly at apex (someone kicked us off our tv for a money match right afterward) but it was a pretty interesting single friendly. He started off with a three stock lead because I kept trying to approach, and he would hit me with bombs and stuff and get some good combo that killed me or Nana. Somehow I ended up winning though.

It was on FD so I'm not sure if it counts, but all I can remember is that I started playing conservatively and focusing on not getting hit. Instead of trying to catch or shield bombs, I would throw blizzards in his face whenever he pulled them and it seemed to work pretty well. He basically had to take the blizzard, or throw the bomb and watch it explode in his face. I don't remember boomerangs as well, but I think I just shielded or ice blocked them. Then I just waited for the opportunity to land moves, especially grab/f-smash/b-air. Young Link dies pretty quickly and has a lot of trouble killing solo Popo if you don't get hit by any bombs. I don't know if this helps at all, but it's the only good young link experience I have. :p

On platform stages I'd image it would be even campier, but you would still want to focus on being patient and not being tricked into making yourself vulnerable.

Yeah, I camp Links. I've played the older variety more, but I'd imagine that it's easier to sit around in your shield and retreat a lot against Y. Link since his shield pressure isn't so great. Synced ice blocks are probably good against him.

puns aren't welcome here like m2k isn't welcome to a MK banned event.

ICs seem unbeatable for many bottom tiers sheik is insanly hard but ice climbers there's like nothing to do. I don't think SHFFLing is that great just full hop like everything. maybe if kirby had a great WD he'd be able to out camp them but he doesn't.

just punch them into the balls till they can't hold the controller and follow up with sueing them for hurting your hand. and keep going till you win.

That are give them acid before you play them.

if they can space well I really don't see what kirby can do. but I heard suck-ups are great and up-B.

but really this isn't like you have a safe move you could spam like pichu nair/jolts. your just f***ed

i would say

1. try to find a throw that has a hitbox and/or invincibility to separate them hehe, kirby has very good jc grab range
2. reverse aerial hammer approach could also be a good tool
3. i guess try to just bait their wd's and hit them with tilts. if ic's camp u, i cant imagine much that kirby can do, maybe u can find a way to bait uairs as well and get under them.

LOLOLOL. not so much stages, but yea we def have those awkward characters. i hope u like my ylink

choknater: Welcome to my general strategy :D
hehe yay, now time to surpass u!

We totally had several(maybe like 3 or 4) friendlies before we got kicked off lol. I think I played you with Sheik a lot more and a couple of YL matches and I do remember winning most of them, but your puff is pretty good :)

I think you're mixing me up with someone else. We played a couple games of ICs vs Sheik, then one against your YL (the really close comeback :p), and some people came over to ask if they could use the tv. We also played some teams friendlies earlier in the day (me and Colbol vs you and Chival). The problem is probably that I never introduced myself...

Hmm. Maybe I did play you with my YL only once. I did play A LOT of people that day haha. But good memory man although I don't really remember the YL vs ICs match much. =\
Are you going to Rom3 or any other nationals anytime soon? We gotta play again!
