I'll certainly be there on the 6th as well. I'm falling way behind in seeding due to absences!!

I hope you all had fun though and I'll make you a nice pretty bracket when I get back to Gainesville on Sunday.

I enjoyed the pound settings more than regular settings. We'll keep up with this format until either it changes or something better comes along.

can't wait for the next one going to spread the word out, if SFLs coming might as well see if Tampa ect. wanna come

If the majority agrees we will be doing doubles for $1-5 or we'll do a free doubles bracket for fun like we did yesterday.

Here's another relevant topic: The Order upon which characters are selected, stages banned, and counterpicking. The particular order is a little hazy on the Pound Stagepicking Thread

Here's the order we have:

1 Double-blind character selection
2 Stage-Striking

After Loss:
3 Winner uses their ban?
4 Loser Counterpicks Stage
5 Loser Counterpicks Character
6 Winner Counterpicks Character

Repeat 3-6 after each loss until set is completed. Limit: One ban per player per set

::EDIT::
I know it's another doublepost... But they're two distinct topics

There's no point in seeding for free, the counter picking nonsense idc about whatever makes people happy.

$1 Tournaments ARE MANDATORY

If you don't like it, don't show up Thanks.

A new thing, we're going to start discussing increasing the rates ranging from $1 to $5 let me know how you feel about it and I think we should just debate the rates before the start of each tournament.

I meant to say WINNER got double penalized... I edited it... What I am should have said is: loser gets double rewarded

After the tourney, someone left their "Late Night" Doritos in my fridge.

As a result, I have taken appropriate action and ate them.

It was delicious.
Good man. That's what you SHOULD have done... teach people to leave messes.

SFL is reconsidering because winterfest is coming up.
Gay...

I know what you meant. Winner should get dbl-penalized. Counter-picking characters is WAY more important than stages, anyway.

I really can't argue that either way because up until now i've only ever used on character in tournament.

Yeah, and I had always assumed it was Loser Winner Loser until yesterday. Both ways are lopsided and it's hard to tell what's fairest imo. I think this all should be mentioned in the Pound Thread... Or the Stage Thread.

::EDIT:: I have now posted these questions in the Pound Thread

I'm pretty sure everyone already knows how advanced slob picks work
There was minor confusion while we were adapting to the pound 4 rule set.

@ BlindGhost: I like you're showing a lot of interest in getting better and are looking into going to Pound 4!

I have bought my ticket =D. And I know I could be playing a lot better. I just need to put in some work for it.

You see, we had it like that until we considered that the winner got double-penalized... But whatever...
that is the idea, loser is supposed to get double advantage. him counterpicking a stage is pointless if the winner gets final say on characer.

double post, I don't give a ****.

that is the method that has been used for years and years, it has never been a problem. loser picking stage, winner character, and then loser character is fairest.

I think moveset bans should be implemented. I don't shine, you don't grab. It will take out efficient/smart/cheap tactics that are taken for granted.

ORRR

moveset striking to gain total mastery of one of the lesser known moves. Yes, there is strategy to it (I tested it with 3 lvl 9 cpus and can beat them with only homerun bat on)so it is good.

On another note, what if we did two 1 dollar tournaments simultaneously??! I don't want to watch seth using falcon on a friendly tv, it's a waste of utilities...! If people want to raise stakes, it shouldn't be every week, maybe like every 3-4 weeks?

Yea, I probably couldn't shell out $5 per week.
/broke

I'd like to increase the competitive nature of the idea, though. Maybe if we had regular fests every week we didn't have a high(er) stakes tournie? As in fest, fest, $5 tournie, fest, fest, fest, $5 tournie

About friendlies:

Could we perhaps have the unused room opposite Oscar's room with a dedicated frieldlies set up? I know that we require people to play in the tournament, but when people get knocked out early (like myself), we don't want to get in the way, but we still want to play.
