i respect that and salute you. its a solid reason and sets a good example of what we should be aiming for. this is a game. you're supposed to have fun playing it. if you no longer enjoy it, then there's no reason to keep going (at least in the way that was causing you stress). i will gladly play you in friendlies any time (god knows i need to take this game less seriously).

Just another day.
Whoa Scatz. It doesn't matter. You're better than me. Yeah, I was referring to the pools thing.

TL;DR if you don't care about the answer to that question.

Many reasons. One being the post right above me. I no longer care about my standing in relation to other players. Don't get me wrong, I'm going to continue demanding friendlies in search of bettering myself as a player but I no longer want to play this game for the competition. Yeah, I still enjoy winning but it's not on the top of my list anymore.

I started competitive smashing awhile ago and really enjoyed it. Recently though I realized that I was way to caught up in placing higher on this list and trying to win money, etc. After a long time of thinking and brooding over things such as secondary and bad match-ups etc... I realized the real reason I even go to tournaments; that reason being that I enjoy playing the game and above all, I enjoy hanging out with the Smash community.

The Community is the reason I kept coming back to tournaments and is the best part of Smashing. I just lost sight of that for awhile and kind of blame it on this PR list. It's dumb, I know but I'm allowed to be dumb... this is America  (jk of course). But I'm fine with staying on it, don't worry. And I don't mean to belittle anyone else's views about it.

But from now on I'm going to try focusing on things that matter more to me like friends and school. I don't want Smash to become another stressful/strenuous thing in my life. It should be the complete opposite and I mean to make it so.

I wasn't being snippy about what you said. It's just that I would rather not make the mistake of admitting someone's credit when it should be given. I'd rather show respect than just hog it all to myself.

I understand what you mean about having fun more than worrying about the PRs and winning. I should've questioned you the moment you said you were picking him up as a secondary at billy's place. I can't say the same thing for me since I'm always detached from the community during school semesters, so I always see the reason why I enjoy coming out to play with you guys constantly when I could be doing other stuff, but it doesn't mean that I won't be forgetting the purpose when I enter a tourney. I sometimes find this game frustrating, but I always believed in the saying that, "The things you enjoy most in life will have some of the most frustration too." (okay, yeah....Maybe it's not a saying but it's something that I believe in.)

I think all of us agree that we enjoy being with the community since we all still play smash at this point.

What does taking rayku's MK to last stock have anything to do with beating his ike? My mk got -extra scraped- by rayku's ike, yet my bowser/falcon did much better.

Falcon must be top tier obv.

@Micaelis - I'm glad you're really enjoying the game. I say just stick with DK since you enjoy him. However if you're going to seriously pay 10 dollars to enter a tourney, be willing to make your game somewhat frustrating so you can get that win. It feels good to be in first place, and sometimes can be just as fun in the long run (i mean, we had rayku and desu pay for our lunch, that was pretty fun :D)

As for the PR conversation, we're just striving to make sure all facts are set, if no one tells me what to put in the OP, it won't be there. Not my fault: I'm not even attending most of these tournaments.

also in case you're wondering, i put that you beat scatz in pools on the OP.

dyno, once you get your stuff working, make sure to upload the Biglou/Turtl match where Turtl gets 0-death.

well, there were only 12 entrants... i thought it had to be at least 15 to count? not to say it shouldn't count, but probably just not as a major tourney.

Even though the turnout was low, Reflex, Kismet, and Billy showed up. And of course you have the average-GA-tourney goers that are good like Lounis, Artdude, 4God, and Dyno.

Nah, good players went along with regulars, and considering the tourney loses, i don't want to just ignore it.

was turtl at this tournament?

Yeah, of all I can remember we had:

Reflex
Kismet
BigLou
Bill_
Dyno
TuRtL
Micaelis
4GOD
FrozenHobo
Plus a few other decent players

A huge chunk of the PR and some from Alabama. Definitely was a solid tournament to care about placings in my opinion since almost every match was PR related somewhat. That being said...

4GOD beat Dyno and TuRtL but lost to Billy and Micaelis
Lounis beat Reflex and Billy but lost to Calvin twice
Micaelis beat Reflex and 4GOD but lost to Calvin and Reflex later

Dyno beat 4GOD in a 4$ MM (should of been more but money johns I think?)

Just trying to help.

EDIT: My "assumptions" were erased for sucking.

Other than that, I'm not a hundred percent sure about them. I think Lounis also beat TuRtL and Dyno lost to Billy? Might be reverse.

Just trying to help.
Turtl didnt play lounis.
