Well Afro is just fed up with stupid **** that can happen in the game, ie tripping. I have no idea why Seibrik is taking a break, I guess he is just disappointed with how he did at WHOBO.
I saw at least three stock-ending trips this past weekend in tournament. The one that was most clear was Sax tripping at the ledge on Brinstar, which allowed D-Torr (on his fresh stock) to Dsmash>Bair him for the kill. Can No-Tripping become the standard now?

I agree.
I think no tripping on wiis would make the game more legit. I mean, if people are saying picto isn't legal because of it's randomness, can't we say the same about tripping?
I mean, the no tripping hack takes out only like 95% of trips, but it would make the game more respectable in the competitive sense.

i think we should keep at least one wii available for tourny so that those that feel strongly enough about it have the option, as well as for finals and such.

the difference is his gordo's are a reaction to DDD pressing the f-b action, and as long as the opponent takes precaution, can almost always be avoided.
it's also a larger chance so when u see the startup of side b u can gtfo of the way, tripping is such a small chance have happening its impossible to predict, or react to (for the person tripping) nothing they do can prepare themselves or get them out of said situation

You can stop tripping by not dashing/being in the air. If you are so scared of tripping do that.
You don't need to hack your Wii for no tripping. Radix said that he has an SD card that turns No Tripping/Infinite Replays/etc. on normal Brawl. If a TO knows what's on the card, he can go around and use it on everyone's Wii for standardization. It's pretty much as easy as turning the match to 3 stocks with an X minute timer, so I don't really see what the big deal is.

This. While I dislike tripping as much as anyone, like Masky said, it's part of the game.
Once you implement something that's not in the game, you open the doors for the argument of other things to be removed. Let's remove tripping? OK, let's also remove tripping from moves ie banana or tilts that force trip. Let's also remove grab release shenanigans. Let's remove ledge auto sweet-spot to stop (or help stop planking). I can go on, but you see what can happen if you just try to "fix" one specific thing.
There is a difference between modifying the game for the sake of balance and modifying the game for the sake of a universally abhorred feature. It neither inherently buffs nor nerfs any character. Banana trips/grab releases/etc. are a more integral part of game play and a part of strategy. "I'll hit him when he trips" is not.

Let me rephrase this...
What I meant was that this game was intentionally built to keep it from being competitive but we **** all over that idea and to the NINTENDO producers to **** off with that lol

I never said that there wasn't a difference. All I said is that modifying the game just for one little thing opens the doors for the suggestion to modify other aspects of the game. I just those as examples.
