Don't you play Koko? lol
Yes, however outside of the absurd damage off of the black hole, I still think that going back to CT/CS1 balance and mechanics would be far more unpleasant than fighting Koko.
I think it's a really cool idea, but really weird at the same time. It's almost like what was the point in balancing the game at all?
I just figured it would be nothing more than a gimmick mode to mess around in. It would be really silly if edition select was allowed in tournaments.

More news regarding Edition select and you can only play it offline only. Makes sense but oh well.

So if any of you guys live in the Midwest or attend UFGT, UFGT10 will be the last one. As a Midwest FG player WE ARE OFFICIALLY SCREWED majors wise. I see where he is coming from though.

EDIT: In other news there is a new arcade called Ultra Arcade opening up in San Antonio TX and also functions as a video game store as well I believe and they will be having a grand opening tournament on the 15th of this month so any of you Texas folk that are nearby you should check it out.

https://www.facebook.com/UltraArcade?ref=br_tf
Michigan still has Youmacon.

In streams yes but not in person. I've never been to Youmacon but would love to go sometime in the future.

I don't suppose anyone feels like playing Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars over Dolphin? I wrote a guide to set it up. I know I'm probably the only person who still plays it, but it's a good game, goddamnit.

I sometimes play it and know 2 people who actively play it. I could consider setting it up and playing a bit.

I would play it if I had a better computer cause I liked TVC and got into it late when MVC3 was announced. :(

I would have to look into that then and see If i can get it running on my dinky Window's 8 laptop. And in other news SC2 HD is getting a patch to fixed the issues people had with it WTF that comes outta nowhere.
http://8wayrun.com/threads/soulcalibur-ii-hd-online-gets-patched.17789/#post-667249
Glad to see that's finally getting patched. I've heard from quite a few people that the match-making and online play were exceptionally mediocre. Hopefully, this fixes things.

I tried playing it online after I download the patch and it's still mediocre as hell for shame Namco at least it's more closer to the NTSC version so it will be better offline.

What are some of the big differences between the NTSC and PAL releases, anyway? I can't say I've had the chance to compare them myself.

NTSC version was the definitive version but some of the differences were

Ivy's 4A+B -B( When she spins her whip and then throws it at you is a glitched unblockable without charging it.

Maxi's 3B+K was knockown low.

Kilik had a Just frame glitch called Doom kicks in which he can link a standing kick with G into a launcher into big damage and other stuff explained in this video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1vFNnk64p0I

Voldo was able to do cancel his mantis fire dance by inputting 66 and G as well as other crazy stuff like in this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yhue7fyvcbg

and other stuff that I don't know much about.

That's right, Capcom really are finally making Capcom Fighting All-Stars using the EF-12 engine! DD, Rook and Death will all finally get a proper introduction and the Fighters Generation page won't be just sitting there anymore!
I got the impression that they were just releasing the models for use with EF-12, not making a game with it.

I'd be playing it if my roommate didn't have complete control over the Wii.

It had a Roll that was actually good, for crying out loud.

YOU GUYS YOU GUYS YOU GUYS

I have some seriously big fighting game news from Capcom over at Mugen Guild:

Ingrid, Haggar, Ryu and Stider all together? yum.

I was playing Tatsunoko VS Capcom a few minutes ago. It's a really awesome game, and is really underrated.

I'm not sure how good Chun-Li is, but her combos are flashy. Your roommate may have control over the Wii, but have you thought about ripping the game and emulating it? The requirements are pretty low.

It really is. If enough people here are interested, we could organize some stuff online.

I loved TvC so much, I bought both versions just to have the cut content from the JP version. Tekkaman and Polimar were my bros.

There are times I wish Marvel 3 had Mega Crash.

I still need to pick up TVC CGOH so I play some broken ass Karas and to play that Djinn guy. That game is on my to import list ASAP once I start on my importing quest of games.

I saw on some website that there may have been some plans for a sequel had Capcom not lost the rights to Tatsunoko characters. Apparently Evil Tekkaman was considered, but this info may have been faked.

I genuinely think that in some ways Tatsunoko VS Capcom is better than Marvel VS Capcom 3. The graphics are quirkier and give an arcade like feel no other game can ever hope to match, and the controls are fast, but not so fast that you can barely see what's going on, like in MVC3. But then again, MVC3 surpasses Tatsunoko VS Capcom with more characters, more responsive controls, more fanservice and has more 'crossover value'.

There's no questioning that Tatsunoko vs. Capcom is much better designed than Marvel vs. Capcom 3 and its expansion. That said, Niitsuma can't seem to produce a game where Zero isn't broken tier...

So, who's going to do Dolphin netplay? The training room can only tide me over for so long.

I'm all for it, but I think timezones might get in the way. I'll try to set it up next week and see how how it plays.

I've set up an IRC channel here that people can use for matchmaking.

Well, I've heard about how good Zero is, but I haven't actually seen any competitive-level gameplay that proves why he's so superior to everyone else. Doronjo seems to stomp all over him.

Zero is overrated. The game so far seems to be quite well balanced, I can't really think of any unviable characters except the Giants, but that might be because the game never got a change to really develop. There's still a lot to be found.

G. Lightan seems exceptionally bad, because all of his combos are very situational. PTX-40A is amazing, though.

The match against PTX doesn't really show Zero being too good or anything, more like how situational PTX is. Either he destroys the opponent or he can't touch them at all.

Hey I just posed videos cause they were the first ones I found Zero so yeah.

And if Etwist still checks this thread he must be cursing under his breath of all this TVC talk.

On the topic of TvC, I'm still kinda mad Phoenix Wright, Nurse Witch Komugi, and Ingrid didn't make the final cut.

Zero's meterless damage combos in the first match seem in line with the rest of the cast. I'm still convinced that Doronjo murders him.
A superior character doesn't just mean strong meterless damage. Zero has some of the best meter gain, resets, and pressure where AGing is almost useless against him. Zero with meter is scary that with the right DHC, he can do 40-50 billion if you convert into max damage. That match you linked is more like how great of a player Kurasa is, imo. While I haven't played the Zero vs Doronjo matchup extensively or anything, even if he does lose the MU that isn't too unusual. Top tiers can have a counter (TvC CGoH is a good example).

TvC Zero is dope. 60 hit meterless combos, air shoryu, solid zoning.

TvC had a very solid engine, especially with the risk / reward system with baroque. TvC Ryu is probably the most fun I've had playing with a shoot in the vs series, and Polymar is just incredible.
